Weekend posting

Yes, it's only Friday, but might as well give everyone a heads up. Posting may be light this weekend. Check in a couple times to see. We've got a few posts planned, but circumstances may intervene.

In the mean time, use this open thread to start Friday off. We have a VERY IMPORTANT post planned for Monday. Early Monday. We expect it to be one of our biggest comment generators yet (current record holder being the "Best Bosses" thread with 222 comments and still going strong - check it out in the right hand column). It will also be among the more controversial posts, so hold on tight. Tell your buddies to check us out Monday because EVERYONE is going to want to read this one and just about EVERYONE is going to have info to post.

just wanted to give everyone a heads up. this past wednesday a copper and a cook county sherrif went shooting at illinois gun works(?) located at grand and harlem. nobody else was shooting or at the shop other than the employee. after shooting, the copper stopped at home and put the range bag containing three duty pistols on his dining room table, and left the house. about an hour later, both returned to find the house (in portage park) burglarized and missing was the duffle bag and two pieces of jewelry. the only explanation is that they were followed home, or the range employee made a phone call. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RANGE

Amazing! This poor copper had to go to a range because the academy range is junk. More then half the equipment is broke. But we are the best hi-tech department in the country. I'm glad our training needs are the best in the country possibly the world!!! But the freaks at headquarters have all the latest in hi-tech toys. I guess computers and "pods" being monitored by civilians are the way of the future.

16th Dist. asleep at the wheel again! Where was CAPS? What about the neighborhood Watch program?

All useless programs.

AS THE OTHER POSTER SAID, WHY CAN'T THE CITY OPEN ALL THE RANGES FULL TIME 24/7/365? I'm sure there are enough officers to man those ranges full time (how about retired Rangemasters and Officers, who might enjoy some part time work if they are qualified).

I'm sure there are no burglaries where you work. At least on your watch. Its good to know the real police are out there.

If any members of my jury are reading this blogsite, I assure you that I am completely innocent of all charges. And please remember that I almost won the Nobel Peace Prize. And God Bless all of the innocent death row inmates I pardoned...and please forget about all of the guilty death row inmates I also pardoned. My bad.

Hey george, nice legacy. DICK!!!! At least you'll have friends on the inside. No, not the inside of corporations or government like you're used to, but the inside of the prison walls. Maybe even the inside of your ass, too.

Hey, 10:11, what are you talking about? I go to the A5 range once or twice a week. The equipment there works fine and the instructors are top notch.

Pension elections will be extremely important. Pension reform is in the air and one only has to look at the number of companies re doing the formula for pensions. Gov. Blago even used the state pension to balance the budget! Look at the people running and don't let the election pass without a vote. Your senority and pension benefits are the most important aspects of this job!

Ya - when Steve Robbins was on the FOP Board he voted to give the City back over $20 million of our pension money. Now he wants to be on the pension board - Fat chance I am voting for him.

The whole FOP Board voted for the give back to the city. The Pension Board all voted against it. I'm not surprised.

It wasn't just FOP, ya numbskull, it was quite a few of the city unions. Look it up, the bill number should be on the FOP or the state legislature website.

At least they had the money to keep buying those houses up for the O'Hare expansion.
