As Predicted ...

...way back on November 28th, the lawsuits have begun in Metra grade crossing incident, and wouldn't you know it, it's all Metra's fault?

According to the woman's own statements,(Channel 2) she drove onto the tracks before the signals were activated and then had no where to go when the gates came down. Here's what we'd like to see the judge say:
  • Um, so let me get this straight. The signals were working properly? OK. And the signs all around the crossing that say "Do Not Stop on Tracks?" Those were all visible and unobstructed, correct? And this is Metra's fault? Bailiff? Get me a stick. Yes, the one with the nail in it. Thank you.
Metra ought to sue her for denting the front end of their train.

Metra will pay because they have deep pockets (our tax paying pockets) and everyone will feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for her too, but not sorry enough to give her any money. Too bad, so sad, she should be glad she's alive.

I dont feel sorry for here but I do feel sorry for all the people you beat with no just cause. Like when 8 of you beat a person who is already in handcuffs. I love it when they win settlements against you. My buddy took $45,000 from two of you...Only wish is was a punitive judgement.

Happy Holidays!!!

Whats wrong with that? When it comes to beating someone, I say the more the merrier. Who were the two guys? Please identify them so we can send them back to Beating 101 for more training.

Don't worry we all pay in the end for settlements like that including yourself. I am glad that you like it when the City settles instead of fighting some of the cases.

The truth is not every case that the City settles is anyone guilty of anything but we all pay for it in the end.

Tell your friend to enjoy his $45,000, his lawyer to enjoy his $60,000 + and all of us to enjoy our tax increases.

Any moron who sits upon the railroad tracks and then gets struck by a train, gets exactly what he/she deserves.
Metra and the Elmwood Park police and fire departments should hand Ms. Moron the bill for the clean up and emergency response costs!

There is a song on the album, The Shootout at the I’m OK You’re OK Corral by Greg Tamblyn called You Can’t Blame the Wreck on the Train.

It goes something like,

“When the gates are down
and the lights are flashing
and the whistle is crying in vain,
you can’t blame the wreck on the train.”
