Another One Bites the Dust?

James Laski, City Clerk, is allegedly on the verge of resigning. The Times and Channel 7 tie him into the Hired Truck scandal and believe it or not, Laski is supposedly negotiating with the Feds to keep his pension.

Unless (and this is a BIG unless) Laski has a huge fish to fry (and we do mean HUGE), fuck this goof. Everyone else is getting years in the pen and anything over a year means a felony conviction and a felony conviction means NO PENSION. If the Feds have him dead bang on a wire, screw this weasel. The entire political structure in the burg is corrupt beyond belief. The way you fix it is you put away the big names. Make them do real time; real penalties. They've been shafting the taxpayers for years. Time for them to get a little of what they've been handing out. Offer him 7 years unless he names names. He balks, go to trial. He'll get 10 at sentencing. He'll come up with some names then. Supposedly Segal is talking. Hopefully, Quarters is next.

This is the cop hater who wanted to put our names on the internet and in the media if we had unpaid parking tickets or water bills.

This is the cop hater who is responsible for the Department Directive that can get you fired if you do not pay your parking tickets.

This is the cop hater who had an affair that was to honor the cops, supported by FOOL OUR POLICE, FOP, that we had to pay for. A Shameless fund raiser for himself.

I hope he goes to jail. I hope he loses his pension. I hope he goes to hell.

There is a little blurb on page 5 of the current Emerald Society bulletin informing members that there have been complaints about members bring "known felons" to meeting. Apparently my peeps don't want to get drunk with criminals. Call it the Rodriquez (Hanhardt, etc)effect. Was that directed at "Quarters"? I knew him casually years ago and he was always hanging around N/W side coppers.

Tzar Richie's tower is starting to crumble...He still won't go to jail...

Still keeping fingers crossed that Former P.O.S. Gov. George Ryan gets his tube of KY to meet all those wonderful wrongly convicted misunderstood asshats he commuted off of Death Row. Squeal like a pig Georgie.

While you're at the slum times, check out the racist comments by ald. beavers about "the last two POLES" to have the city clerk job. Oh, and he also says how he's "available for the job". What an ASS.

Then, if you keep reading, ald. munoz states that the office should be given to a hispanic. What a couple of racist idiots.

As a side note, a handy scorecard of daley appointees to the council and other interesting tidbits

Not a bleeding heart, but I don't think anyone who earns a pension should lose it, even if convicted of a felony. This should also apply to coppers!

Get convicted...go to jail? OK, but don' take the pension.

What to do? On top of jail time, add a fine! Where do you get the money to pay the fine? From the pension.

Pick an idiot who gets convicted, say, 8 years in the joint and $250,000 fine. While he sits in the joint, his pension money goes to pay the fine. At least then you got something when you get out.

I believe the feds will not go after Richie and now I'm believing Richie is in with the feds. Laski and Richie didn't get along. Laski consistently received more votes than any other politician in Chicago.

I don't mean to rag on the 16th district, but I need to know what is happening there, before I buy a Condo on Talcott Avenue by Res. Hosptial. Please don't post your grievences about certain squad cars, just give me your honest opinion of the neighborhood. I haven't lived around there for six years, so it couldn't have changed that much? Did it? The Condo I'm buying is for one of my children. After reading some of the comments on the blog it sounds like the area changed for the worse, which tells me to look elsewhere. Please be upfront and honest about the area, and don't bust on police officers working the districts. Thank You!

I posted the above under a different subject matter, so please allow me to repeat this message, as it is important to me. Thank You!

Harlem & Talcott is not bad at all. Don't let all these whiners fool you. While the police service is shitty, the neighborhood is nice.

Beavers is an idiot. There is some truth in his comment however.
It reads to me as though he believes it's his turn to go to jail too. Check it out.

Laski belongs in jail sans pension.
All of the scum pols (no pun intended) who have their snouts and forepaws in the taxpayers trough should be held to the highest standard of law. They are servants of public trust and are paid very well to do nothing more than be honest for the good of the citizens of their community.

Max jail terms, no pension, no perks upon "housing" after a fair and just trial by peers.

P.S. Who is Ted Kennedy questioning the ethic of any man or woman ? Are our memories that short sighted ? SCUM !

Thank You. There are some really nice condo's on Talcott Avenue, perhaps a little over priced, but worth looking into.

Harlem and Talcott is a nice area. Alot of city workers. Having the "EL" so close is nice , but also can bring some occasional people from other parts of the city.

The traffic around Harlem and Talcott absolutely sucks, but the crime rate is as low as you'll find in the City, and the violent crime is pretty much absent completely.

Lots and lots of elderly people still in the area, and many police and fire families on literally every block around. Parking will be a hassle any time there is a Church function across the street, but still better than in most neighborhoods.

Apparently the average speed on Talcott has been raised to 75MPH, other than that, not one complaint about the area and I've lived there for exactly 6 years now.

Obviously, check out the neighbors before you buy. I've heard of no obvious problems in the area, but let's be honest: nowhere is going to be perfect.

As far as police service: In 6 years I've called the police three times for various things. The first was a suspicious man walking down Talcott and checking people's garage doors on the houses with side drives. There were 2 tact cars, two beat cars and a captin on the scene in well under 5 minutes and the offender was caught. Next two times were for serious car accidents with injuries on Talcott. One time a car was on scene rather quickly and it was the ambulance that took forever, the other time the police showed up roughly 20 minutes AFTER the ambulance had already left, probably 45 minutes after the first call. In all three instances, I didn't get any attitude from the responding coppers. I imagine that those who have had problems got back exactly what they gave to the responding officers.

Enjoy!

Laski looks like a goof and acts like a goof, and he is coming to a goof's end.

Why should the goof be treated any different than the rest of us. Let him lose his pension. He'll do ok. All of the weasels always do well. Lawrence Bloom, Dan Rostenkowski, and others all do very well for themselves. So screw Laski.

can Laski take down Daley? if so, then he deserves a reduced sentence; as far as his pension....from the get go, he should get the max senetnce and lose his pension...but can he deliver Daley?...IF so, then he should get a reduced sentence, MAYBE save the pension....it's time to make a deal....

Yes, he does. Before he left office, President Clinton gave him a pardon, and that means he gets his pension.

According to the Slime Times, Laski has not been into work for over a month. Is he still getting paid or is he now officially a ghost payroller. I do not know of any ordinance that allows him to work from home or one that allows him to be paid to stay home out of embarassment.

If he is soooooooooooo shamed maybe he should do the honorable thing. Lock himself in a room with a gun and one bullet.

UPDATE: LASKI HAS JUST BEEN FORMALLY CHARGED!! (1545hrs)

Hey SCC.. lets start a pool. When will Laski blow his brains out????
Read todays Sun Times;

"He's a basket case. He's an absolute basket case," said another colleague. "He may never set foot in City Hall if it stays this bad. Mentally, he knows he's supposed to [come into work], but he's so distraught he's having trouble getting dressed."

Congratulations James!! Remember.. the best method is to take your 3 middle fingers - stick them into a large jar of vasoline.. then apply liberally to your asshole. . . . .
