One of Those Days

Ever have a day where you just don't feel like posting anything on the blog? If you actually have a blog that is. Yesterday was one of those days - we just didn't feel like doing anything. Football season is on hiatus until next week, baseball season is two months away, hockey season is non existent, we don't really follow basketball and the greens are months away from actually being open. Plus, the weather just sucks in general. We didn't even feel like photoshopping any pictures - and that's usually good for a little bit of our time. We've got a few excellent ones up our sleeve for special occasions.

Anyway, that was our day yesterday. Today is a new day. We cleaned up a few posts, caught up on some reading, got our marching orders from Karl Rove and stand ready to do the bidding of the neo-con cabal that runs it.

You can use this as an open thread in the meantime.

Given the quality of the comments for the last several weeks, I can see why you wouldn't feel like posting. At first, there was lively debate but for weeks now the juveniles have taken over and the board has become dumbed down and boring. Despite you best efforts to spur debate you get the silliness ad nauseum, the gynethropy and the personal attacks. Don't know if you can stop it but its what killed the last board.

We can go to a fully registered board. That would amuse some of the people that get slammed here. Maybe 35th Street would be interested in a listing?

Any takers?

SCC,

You started something good. Do not get stuck in the status que. You need to move forward and the best way to do that is to require posters to register. You will still get your goofs but it should help to cut down on some of the ridiculas anonymous rants.

Here is a topic that some of you may find interesting. Our pension. I'm worried about it. I'm depending on it for my retirement days and I am worried that it may not be there when I need it or that hizzoner or some other lowlife politician may try to use it for other purposes. I thought I read somewhere that he recently said that he's considering not funding the teachers pension fund. Can he do that and if so, can we be far behind? Are we funded the way we should be? Comments?

Yes thats true.

The prick daley and his political hacks will drain our pension fund so he can give the money to all the minority low life donkey N words.

The Illinois Minority is the most disgusting minority. Let them rot. If they get hungry enough they will either kill themselves or get a job. I hope its the 1st one.

Daley won't go after our pension fund. Over 90% of us stay on to retirement. There aren't enough teachers who do that. They usually quit and go on to other careers, like becoming cops.

The heat would also be too great. There would be a melt down of the Department. Most of us would od nothing, just like a few do now.

The City would turn into Detroit.

I agree pension is a major concern, but what about our medical insurance?

If I were to meet 50 posters here on SCC and asked to borrow 10 dollars I would bet 48 or 49 would pull out the wallet and freely give it.

I propose that if we were all to put 10 bucks into an account every payday we wouldnt have to worry about it (health insurance) upon retirement.

We (the Future retired officers) are gonna be stuck sitting at CCH (I refuse to say STR***R) in a room waiting to see the Dr.

Flee this city when you retire! Do a weapons turn in on those guns. Forget about concealed carry after you retire, your not the police anymore! Go to Vegas or Arizona with the rest of those thief cops.
