More Hired Truck

Just when you think a story is dying out, Warmbir and Novak pull you back in (with some help from Fran Spielman).

Remember the scandal at the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs where a 19 year old was hired as a fully qualified building inspector in spite of the fact that you need 6 years experience to even be considered for such a position? That means little Andy Ryan was a fully qualified tradesman at the tender age of 13. Three other younger, politically connected inspectors were fired or resigned shortly thereafter.

If we were the Feds (which we aren't) and we were halfway intelligent (which we are), we'd be squeezing these four kids like tomatoes at a sauce factory. Think about it - you're under age 25 and you've got (A) your life ahead of you: chasing girls, marriage, kids, etc. Or (B) a Federal racketeering indictment looming over your head, a short stint in Club Fed and a lifetime of half assed jobs available only to people with criminal records. They'll be giving up their own grandmothers to stay out of jail, let alone their fathers and the politically connected people who got them jobs.

Keep squeezing those tomatoes Mr. Fitzgerald.

The 025th District elite gang team has made an additional big arrest. They hit the tree house of a local known neighborhood 12 year old bully and took 37 BB guns. They claim two of the BB rifles were illegally altered to be fully automatic BB guns. (You can knock out some eyes with that kind of weapon!)

Congratulations 025th District Gang Team! For going beyond the call of duty! You probably saved the lives of over 100 flying rat seagulls!

These are the same kind of guys that would have NO problem locking up any one of the countless retired Police Officers who like firearms and keep a collection and then rationalize the pinch by claiming the guy did something sinister or that he was GOING to do something sinister because what normal person would have all those guns? Seriously guys, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Theres NOTHING wrong with having a gun collection or not registering you weapons. Have you ever heard of the Second Amendment? The concept of the right to keep and bear arms? The Constitution? You are nothing but a tool for the Mayor, the same guy that would disarm YOU if he could, the same person that has already tried to prevent retired Officers from keeping personal weapons inspite of a Federal law that says they can, a person that has absolutely NO use for you unless you are doing something like arresting an otherwise law abiding citizens for possessing what the Constitution says he can possess. Nice work! I sincerly hope that your heads are hanging low. You certainly don't make me proud to be a member of the CPD!

Gun registration is a bullshit law, but until it's changed, repealed, or overturned, it's stlll the law. I keep my guns registered even though it's a pain in the ass.

If the old man pointed a gun at his neighbor, then fuck him! He broke the law.

If his neighbor lied on him, then the neighbor is a dickhead.

Don't condemn the coppers doing their J-O-B! If the old man had blackpowder guns and bolt action rifles, then he could have registered them. He also could have joined the NRA and tried to help fight this bullshit law.

Maybe now he will.

You guys bashing the 025 Gang Team are idiots!

The landlord came into the station to report that his tenant had pointed a gun at him, and that he had more inside his apartment.

The officers then obtained a "John Doe" search warrant based on the information received from the landlord and hit the offender's apartment.

Along with the "precious" black powder handguns and WWII rifles, they recovered four AR-15 rifles, with two being completely automatic, and numerous handguns. In addition, they recovered thousands upon thousands of rounds of ammo for the weapons.

The offender in question was what normal police officers like to call a "gun nut". He liked guns (a little too much) and was nuts. Moreover, he was a jagoff.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the team did an excellent job.

In closing, the team in question is full of very good and knowledgable officers. The fact that you don't know them and bash them on made up facts speaks volumes about yourselves and your own inadequacies.

Just because a gun is collectable dosen't mean you can own it without registering it.

What the hell does Donny Marquez, Jim Mullen or any other copper have to do with this?
This gun pinch in 025 was bullshit plain and simple. Just because the guy was older and had a collection doesn't mean that he was going to shoot a copper. One of my best friends was killed by a copper in an accidental shooting. Does that mean coppers shouldn't have guns? Get real, these coppers should hang their heads in shame. They will be forever known as tools for Daley. And no, I wasn't turned down for a Tac team or anything else. And I'm not jealous. There are some good guys on Tac and Gangs but lately it seems like most of them are two year wonders who can't differeniate between a good pinch and a bullshit pinch. They are embarrassing. And they can't even see it. They THINK they are doing a good job. With all the shit in 025 is this the best they could do? There are no gangbangers in 025, no real bad guys, that this is the type of pinch they have to come in with? If so, I'm staying where I'm at in the real westside, not 025!

OK F.Lee Bailey, show me where in the Constitution it says I have to register my guns. WHY should I have to register my guns? Because Daley says so? Your a tool.
And let me see if I've got this right. A guy gets a gun put in his face and he doesn't call 911, he WALKS into the station to report it? C'mon, who do you think your talking to, a Judge or an ASA in Felony Review?

TO: 08:50:08

You did take an oath to uphold the Constitution, but need to learn that the Second Amendment of the Constitution does not give an individual the right to own a weapon free from governmental regulation. Perhaps you should go back to law school before you make such a stupid comment.

When you took the oath to "uphold the Constitution of the United States" which you so vociferously proclaim, you should have known that very same constitution grants individual states the right to exercise police powers within their respective borders.

The right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment is known as a fundamental right. Therefore, the state cannot outright prohibit a person from owning a firearm. However, the state can regulate the type of firearm that a person may own. Moreover, the state can require the registration of such firearms under their police powers.

Since you are big on oaths, I'm sure the one you took to enforce the laws of the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago in a fair and impartial manner is equally important. After all, an oath is an oath! So, under that oath, you are required to enforce City of Chicago gun registration statute.

If you don't like enforcing certain laws, perhaps you might reconsider your career choice. I hear Wal-Mart is hiring.

Old people with guns have killed POs? So have cars. So have drunk drivers. So have donuts. Save it for the retarded girls who will buy the bullshit you have for sale.

The guy pointed a gun at his neighbor? At best, you sound like you've taken a complainant at his word. The whole story stinks to high heaven, just like the story did last week. Just like 80% of the stories that come out of 025.

They should empty 025 out and rebuild it from scratch. There are some good people there, but no leadership and a horrible history of complete BS that embarrasses the rest of the department.

And while were at it, empty out the area 2 gun team.

How much will the inevitable lawsuits cost us this time?

Nice job of "outing" the person responsible for the john doe. Anyone can read this site. I saw the weapons and ammunition that this guy had in his house. No normal person has all that shit. Also nobody from the 025th District gang team was gloating about anything. They got the info and followed up on it and it resulted in the recovery of all that stuff. What do you expect them to do after executing the warrant and finding the guns, leave them there and when he gets out and the wacko goes postal ? Who is fucked then? If this guy is legit , he should have registered everything. There was a day when you went to a domestic and you knew it was bullshit and it was 1F. Now after what happened to the wagon guys on the southside after the domestic gone bad we lock someone up because of city halls reaction. So to all you people who say if you were there you would have "protected" the so-called collectors 2nd amend. rights, Bullshit, recover the guns and amo and let the court decide. I suppose the pride is like those Officers who brag how they work in 011 or 007. Or kind of like those who used to brag they worked in the deuce (002). I worked in 025 for many years and I did work my ass off answering calls. I do not think I am any better than any other Officer. I also worked in "Slow" districts and I know the shit can hit the fan anywhere. I have found that wherever you work there are slackers and workers and those who have to brag what district they are are in are usually the biggest slackers.

Does it really matter what district we are in, we all still risk our lives everyday. Granted 015 might be more dangerous than 016 or 025 but have we forgotten police have been killed on duty in each of these districts( 016- copper killed in domestic shot: 025- copper killed during building inspection shot: 015- copper killed while chasing robber shot)It could happen in any district at any time.
