From the FOP Meeting

According to sources who attended the meeting Tuesday (we didn't), Alderman Tom Allen will not be calling the Hampton sign issue up for a vote this March 29th and any effort to bring it up for a vote would be "out of order." So we're looking at the April meeting at the earliest.

We're also looking at another 40 days or so without a SINGLE EXEMPT MEMBER speaking up for the deceased members of the Department.

FOP website has more.

Ok, so the vote is being "held off" for a while...
Show up on the 29th of March, City Hall, 10:00 am with a sign "I VOTE". How many of us think a message can be sent? Can “simplicity” be effective?

How can a dead man on life support be allowed to win a primary? Stroger arrived at the hospital a flatiner. How can the mayor and every other politician get away with such a scam. The corruption in this city truly amazes me.

THE NEW RADIOS THE CITY BOUGHT (MOTOROLA DIGITAL) AND MOST DISTRICTS ARE NOW USING, ARE CAPABLE OF BEING "KEYED-UP" A BOOTH AT OEC! IN ESSENCE, YOU AND YOUR PARTNER ARE IN YOUR CAR, AND ONE OF YOUR TWO RADIOS CAN BE KEYED-UP BY THIS SPECIAL BOOTH AT OEC, AND FOR 90 SECOND INTERVALS, WITHOUT YOU EVEN KNOWING IT, THEY CAN LISTEN TO YOUR CONVERSATION!
YOU DONT HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, JUST ASK A CPD SERGEANT AT OEC, OR ANY SUPERVISOR THERE ABOUT THIS "SPECIAL CONSOLE" AND THE CAPABILITIES OF THESE NEW RADIOS, AND THEN WATCH THEM SQIRM LIKE RATS AND DENY, DENY, DENY.
ITS 100% TRUE-THE CITY WILL NEVER ADMIT IT THOUGH, BUT ITS THERE AT OEC, IF YOU CAN GET IN THE BUILDING, ASK A SUPERVISOR AND THEN SNAP A PICTURE OF HIS FACE!
IF F.O.P., OR SOMEONE ELSE EVER PUSHES THE ISSUE, THE CITY WILL SAY THAT THIS IS PURELY FOR "SAFETY REASONS" AND NOT TO SPY!

YEAH RIGHT!!!

The legal case by Harej and Halliman will be filed soon against FOP. It should be interesting. I understand the issue of punitive damages will presented against the FOP heirarchy. How much money is this going to cost FOP (You and I, the members)? FOP call it a day.

Why be so mad about a street sign? It's their neighborhood too. At Malcom-X college the ANC flag flies over the American flag..Is there not a rule here about flag flying? But as usual the yankee is just a whiney little chump! NO BALLS! Like in Iraq our troops listen to Iraqi sgt. Our troops disarm the bombs as Iraqi troops watch and drink coffee.

if they are flying any flag above the u.s. flag they need to be straitened out. i would be supprised if 5% of the people in malcom x college have ever even set foot on the continent of africa.....and just what country would they visit.....and would they be welcome there?

You can go to all the meeting at the lodge including board meetings, address the lodge and still not be heard. You can submit suggestions for your contract and it can be washed coming out unlike anything you submitted.

I support the union but serious changes need to be made.

3/22/2006 01:03:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Example

Full minutes from lodge meetings natch are not submitted on line understandable. A quirk why months before they are even posted?

Ever call the lodge and get wrong answers from more than one member? P.S. a vote was done to retain the 1st Sgt. on the board and there was debate. Who recalls the pension debate?

Not taken from FOP meeting.

Has anyone seen the tables on how underfunded the *Police pension is?

Fire is even lower.

Running strong is Labor.

Has anyone heard that suggestions were made to the city to contract out any police related jobs. Or area's where police are assigned? The city takes these suggestions for the budget.

Can you name the organization.

Would it either take up a large amount of space in printing pension tables? Or would this be inappropriate for this blog?

Or would threads regarding pension issue be better.

Just curious:

Since Fred Hampton Jr. is a convicted felon, should a U.S. Congressman be associating with him? Or does that rule not apply to ALL elected officials?

I think any elected official should be held to the same standards with regards to associating with known felons.

I wonder where Lefty and X's little bro stand on this......

The AMERICAN FLAG Rules and Regulations.

§7. Position and manner of display

.....(f)When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's right.

If Malcolm X college is flying the ANC flag above the U.S. Flag, the school should be advised. But they're a bunch of liberal apologists and think they are above everything.

Issue is not grivable, not a contract violation.

Lodge has a constitution with by-laws this is what would be utilized. The Sgt. of Arms at the time was a P.O. who made Sgt., the vote was to remove him because of his promotion. Theory, Boss/PO like Vinegar and Water blend but not well. Motion called for a vote and he prevailed through yes votes.

Bottom line a unit rep. spk. prior to vote and not enough of the unit showed. It's like you need your whole district and then some behind you for vocal support.

By the way I think the vote for this Sgt.to remain on the board was in late 03 or 04. Thought you might want to know. Matter of fact this was around the same time that we allowed the city a big money break, there was pension money which the city owed us and we forgave them. City won, unit reps. were overcome not sufficient time to take info. back to their units. Big issue on pension. Hence, to date why we still have serious problems and issues to address.

Sad but true the angle used was to make sure younger PO's would still have a pension on down the road. Were still short to this day, fire dept. shorter.

If the sergeant really believed in the FOP and the membership, he would do the honorable thing and resign his position after he had been promoted, converted his FOP membership status to fraternal, and signed up for the PB&PA.

And for the record, I'm a sergeant, not some disgruntled PO.
