USA pulls off a tie with an Italian "own goal" leading the way. Unbelievable. Now if they can beat Ghana (a tall order as Ghana beat the Czechs and the Czechs already spanked the US 3-nil), they can actually advance.

It sucks that I don't have cable and when I'm on the street and stop in at a shop that has ESPN and other cable sports outlets, they never have the World Cup on!
I even had one restaurant owner surf alittle to see if any of the matches were on and some demented White Sox fan screamed, "Hey! I was watching that!" My reply to him was, "You know what? I'm out here working and came here to get some grub. I get 30 minutes to order, eat and go. You don't have to sit here and watch baseball because you can go home and see it - to your heart's content!"

Well, soccer is Europes "football" and if you don't like it, turn the channel. It sure beats watching overpaid gorillas with dreadlocks sticking out from their helmets do a sickening ghetto dance in the end zone.
when one of the coppers came out to me and said it was tied 1-1 I asked, "did Italy score a goal for them?" woo, i must be psychic.
I would rather watch the gorillas in dreads throw and catch the ball, then the whiney europeans and south americans kick the ball.
All this is moot, as Hockey (a real sport, played by skilled persons) is on.

Soccer, another way to disrupt American traditions. I can't believe all the soccer being played in our parks and I hate seeing our kids adopting the sport of foreign countries. Clincher (16 inch softball), a Chicago tradition is rarely found played in our parks, WHAT A SHAME!!! It goes to show you how much foreign influence there is in this country.
Anyone know where I can see a good game of Clincher softball?
