Looks like Staten Island to me.
I still think none is more Beautiful than our Chicago Skyline. Driving over the central avenue bridge looking east or from the lake looking west, its really a sight. God Bless our Veterans, Our boys and girls in Iraq, and all the Police out there. Happy 4th
Speaking of the Chicago skyline, if you are ever flying in from the east coast be sure to get a window seat on the right side of the plane. I've done this flight dozens of time, and almost every time the plane flys in northwest from the southeast side/Indiana.
It curved around downtown from the west side. There is no better view for a Chicagoan than downtown from the WEST looking down from 5000 feet. Seriously. No better view of Chicago from any angle or light.

Guys like you finally realize that here in 016 were limited to the resources that the faster district's get. I'm talking about our tac teams being sent to 015 & 025. The Deputy Chief refuses to send ANY help when asked. It's one B/S excuse after another. Granted, we have our share of dogs like every other district & unit has, but for the working officer (yes, we still have them here too) it's is very fustrating at times.
As for getting involved with your neighbors off-duty, BE CAREFUL! Call me and I'll get the right officer(s) to address your situation. I would put my name here, but suggested I do not because there are those who would still M/F me. So ask around.

Funny I have been to skokie court several time in the past two months didn't see any northside coppers there either. For the person complaining about Tristian maybe some of you northside coppers are afraid to deal with "joe" or afraid of racial profiling. I was on my way home from a westside dist. stopped on higgins at a red light across from me was a marked 016 dist. car and an unmarked car stopped at the light. To my right was "joe" walking down the middle of the lane on higgins lifting every car door handle of the parked vehicles.After I watched him lift five door handles I saw the marked unit looking at me. I pointed to "joe" who was lifting at least two more handles. On duty copper looked at him and imediatly made a right hand turn down a side street and took off. Unmarked car pulled up I again pointed to "joe" who was yet lifting another door handle and unmarked car went through red light and took off. I know the vehicle #'s but I am not about ratting anyone out, they know who they are. Thank you for keeping my neighborhood safe. I just thanked god my vehicle stays in the garage away from "joe's" reach. That was just for the above mentioned non-workers collecting a paycheck for nothing. I am sure there are some fine working officer's in 016 and I would like to THANK YOU for working where I live.

Next time any odpo sees something like that, pull your gun out and run behind 'joe'. A passing squad should be forced to stop. One time I tried flagging down a passing 16th district car but she kept driving and never looked my way (very observant). So the next time, I'll be swerving my car in front of her to get her to stop. Also, if you live near a border of a suburb, after you call for an assist with Chicago PD, call the nearest suburb. They'll probably get to you a lot faster. Post their numbers on your fridge for the wife and kids too. Be safe out there. You went into the session(s) with the understanding that "HE" has the final say-so and no guarantee that your idea or beef would be addressed further. BUT he wanted to HEAR from the people on-the- street.
Some smart copper brought up the fact that the 'humper' was a waste of time, manpower and paper.IT was a total duplication of reports as we have other means to review activity. The copper stated that the [then] new computer system kept a log [events] of all your activity on the PDT, so why then write it down (again) on paper and send it through the Chain-of-Command where no one reads it anyway.
Mauer listened [not too many bosses would have initiated this first step] and AGREED! His only concern at that time was that the 'humper' had your Beat/Sector CAPS Mission and Mission number on it which was necessary to address some B.S. [my words, not his] federal guidelines that kept us in the CAPS money.
He agreed this could be eliminated without any major ramifications. ALL that he requested in return was......
Every Beat/Rapid car, when you logged on, simply add your specific beat, sector Mission # and brief description after you log on in the comments section and we would successfully comply with the intended nature of the humper, 'without' writting extra paper to accomplish the same result.
[ie a Beat car in the 026th District would simply log on with his/her PC# and in comments section merely add....
"026-06-001, Thefts from auto's on Main Street"]

I call bullsheet. Took them 2 months to get our test results for a SCANTRON test. Now you tell me that the results from an essay test that over 3000-4000 took will be graded, placed in order by score, then work out ties by seniority, then ask for merit considerations, put the group into the D-Unit for 90 days and be ready at the end of Sept. for school... the only way they put a class in Sept is off the old list.

I would personally like to thank beat 1612 for ruining the 4th of July fireworks display at Edison school. In all my 12 years living here I have never seen such stupidity. People young and old line up to see the festivities and you drive around Edison school multible times playing Police. Next year we will call in a man with a gun call so you wont show up. I hope you feel like the real Police now.

I pulled the ticket and a citizen over there called. 1690 was also on scene so 1612 didn't have much choice/discretion. That sucks though because the fireworks display is outstanding, every year.
One wet blanket on the block ruined it for everyone.

Unless this picture was altered, it would have to be a time exposure over several seconds in order to get several firework air-bursts for the extra brilliant background.
This would require a tripod mounted camera on steady surface, not on a rocking boat.
Try that sometime; it is a fun and easy technique with a film camera like my old Speed Graphic and probably with a more sophisticated digital camera.
