Mistaken Prediction

As we so often take more than our share of credit for predictions, we'll take the blame for a wrong one we happen to be mistaken. From our January archive:
  • Bush's popularity will range in the high 50's low 60's all year, especially after Zarqawi and bin Laden are captured or killed. [prediction by SCC]
Since the year is way more than half over, we can't plausibly claim that the President even averaged a decent rating for the entire year. However ...
  • For the second straight day, the PresidentÂ’s Job Approval rating has moved up to 45%. Just 53% disapprove. These figures, the best for the President since mid-April, include 22% who Strongly Approve and 37% who Strongly Disapprove of his performance. These numbers come as fighting escalates in the Middle East, a cycle of violence that most Americans blame Hezbollah for starting.
Gee whiz. World events remind Americans that there are people out there bent on the destruction of Western Civilization and suddenly, George Bush doesn't seem to be such a bad option. In fact, the world is slowing coming around to the realization that Bush has been right all along and everyone else is wrong. Even the Swiss are realizing something is amiss when plots are uncovered to shoot down airliners and blow up the federal courts in the world's most famous "neutral" country.

And this only spells trouble for the Democrats come election time.

You know why not many people respond to these posts on world terrorism? It's because there is not much you can say. I hope to God that our military has the capability and is properly backed and funded to stop those zealots from harming more civilian targets. I hope our country and the world has the stomach to continue to deal with them. They are betting that we will grow tired.

In response to the gas issue, i agree its ridiculous... However, hopefully the public pressure will lead to more E-85 solutions... Furthermore, President Bush had the resolve and "balls" to cont. to pressure terrorists all over the world, despite the "world opinion" of European Liberalism ... Never forget New York City, our homeland, where thousands lost there lives for no reason... Simply, the terrorists must be eliminated... God Bless America, keep our troops safe and in your prayers... They are doin the heavy lifting for us all... Never Forget 9-11-2001!

I hate to say this, but you guys running this blogspot must have rocks in your head if you truly believe that BUSH is the answer to America's prayers! He is by far the most stupid president I've seen in about 50 years of living, probably close to Ronald Reagan.
He has placed this country into a quagmire from which there is now no release. If he wanted Saddam dead (and I can understand why), he could have done so without causing a war. Bush is, simply put, in over his head, and always has been. Even If I had voted for Bush (which I didn't), there is simply no way I would ever vote for any other Bushes (although I hope that Jeb has a lot more brains going on than "W").

You can thank the Democratic prosperity years on plans that the Republicans created and put in place. It just takes that long to get it going in a national government forum. Bush is trying to bring lasting peace to the Middle East by promoting democracy in the area. If you want to have peace you can become an ultra conservative Muslim and live under Shari`ah or kill them so they are not a threat to our existence and way of life. I choose to support Bush and Israel. Kill them all! Peace is the product of victory over our enemies, not through treaties. And please understand that they are trying to kill us and destroy the western way of life.

Bill Clinton's war is all being blamed on Bush. If Clinton would have dealt with Bin-Laden when he had ample opportunity to do so, we wouldn't have had the USS Cole fiasco, 911, etc. This is Clinton & the Democrats war, not Bush and the Republicans. As, usual, Republicans having to clean up after Demoncrat Blunders, lies, and corruption. This is Bill and Hillary CLINTON's WAR, not Bushes.

While Afghanistan was necessary and right Iraq was the worst run fiasco I have ever had the displeasure to participate in ,and when I finally return home I find the Constitution that I have sworn to uphold and defend is nothing but a doormat for his edicts. This isn't the same country I left in 2002. Fear sells and Bush and his team have done a good sales pitch. Fear them first. Can you image the right wings reaction if Clinton had trampled on the Constitution like this? How Bush Pushed Gasoline Prices Sky High
By Katherine Yurica

On March 5, 2003, Senator Carl Levin, the Ranking Minority Member of the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, released a report prepared by the minority staff that reveals why gasoline prices soared under the Bush administration. It has to do with the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) and some odd decisions by the Department of Energy (DOE) after consulting with White House officials.

According to the Senate Report, the Bush administration added forty million barrels of oil to the nation’s reserves in 2002. That wouldn’t be a problem in and of it self. But the purchases represented an extreme change in energy policy; they were made in a strong market, with a tight supply of oil, which increased demand, which in turn pushed up the gasoline prices to their highest levels in twelve years.

For once I must agree with Left is Best. While Bush has had to clean up past messes in the Middle East, he has ignored our domestic problems. Illegal immigration is rampant and nothing is being done about it. Laws are being ignored, there is no enforcement, and cities are allowed to be sacntuary havens for illegal aliens.

*** This is so because Bush is anti-union, anti-labor, anti-working class. The illegals provide the monies classes cheap labor.

Gas prices are up and going to rise again.

*** The Bushes have been oil people since his grandad PRESCOTT Bush. Big surprise oil has shot thru the roof.

There is no policy on family values and education is being severely underfunded.

*** Underfunded?? How cares? If you are as rich as the Bushes, you can pay for any school. Bush, his dad, his grandad and is daughter all went to Yale. Where did YOU go to college? DID you even go to college?

This is why the Democrats are strong. They take care of domestic issues that most of us care about- health care, civil rights, education, housing, and creating well paying jobs instead of minimum wage jobs.

I guess they want "big brother" to handle all their routine vehicle maintenance too!(Democrat idea.. Hey lets create another entitlement program .. we'll call it..car's and free gas for everyone!")

They think that vehicle ownership and driving is a constitutional right, unlike conservative's who know it's a privilage afforded to responsible citizens!

DOMESTIC ISSUES is a buzz word for entitlements WHICH is a buzz word for WELFARE!!!!

We spend more money for public schools in this city and it never even gets to the classrooms, it is stolen by the Bureaucrats at CPS headquarters and given to the illiterate students who don't even want to be there. They show up for their free meal and cut-out the rest of the day to get high!

Is there any middle ground for the left or the right? Can we drop the whole patriotism shit and focus on that fact that as a global community, we're all going to shit...we are all responsible for where we are at. We should all taken responsibility for one another's actions and quit bickering on whose fault it is or isn't. Can we rationalize with irrational individuals?? Maybe not.... should we kill them all...I don't think so....should we protect oruselves from harm?? of course....in the end, where has this all left us? In a deeper shit hole. We are repeating the same mistakes that we made 30 years ago, 50 years ago, a century ago, a thousand years ago. Why haven't we learn???????????

Who Will Prosecute Bush for a Double Felony?

Submitted by BuzzFlash on Fri, 07/21/2006 - 7:43am. Analysis
A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

We just wanted to repeat again -- because the mainstream press, with few exceptions, is letting it pass, as are the Democratic leaders on the Hill -- that Bush has now committed a double felony.

This is no exaggeration.

Bush himself admitted to violating the law when he authorized illegal domestic spying and bypassed the special court that is legally empowered to oversee such spying. Then, the Attorney General of the United States testified to Congress that Bush personally prohibited Justice Department staff from investigating the illegal spying.

That's called obstruction of justice.

In essence, it's a double felony.

voltaire (historical) says

I agree with both. Bush may be lesser of two evils but it is sad (and partially the media's fault) that they are the best that our country could produce to run for president. If the media did not search for every little flaw in leaders and pillor them and their families in the name of "investigative" journalism then maybe a little more options might be available.
