Another Travesty

Are there protected employees according to state law of not? As we recall the law, protected employees include police, firefighters, teachers, bus drivers, senior citizens, paramedics and other assorted persons. Charges are automatically upgraded whenever it can be proven that the assailant had to reasonably know that the person attacked was of this "protected" class.

So what the fuck is this?
  • Channel 7 : Two firefighters were cut by broken glass after someone threw a brick into a moving fire truck in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood overnight. The truck was in the 1800-block of South Harding when the brick shattered a window. The two firefighters are expected to be OK.

Police have taken someone into custody in connection to the event.

  • Sun Times: The incident occurred in the 1800 block of South Harding Avenue at 3:10 a.m. when the man threw a brick through the window of the truck, injuring the two firefighters inside, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

Johnson was not charged with a felony because it was determined that he was merely trying to damage city property and was not targeting the firefighters, Bright said. [emphasis added - SCC]

Ex-squeeze me? Baking powder? WHO THE FUCK DID THIS JAGOFF THINK WAS GOING TO BE IN A MOVING FIRE TRUCK?

Who ever was working Felony Review that night, we sincerely hope that you die a most painful death at the hands of fire ants, biting sand fleas and rabid bats. Oh yeah, aren't Assistant State's Attorneys members of that "protected" class? Officers of the Court and all? Jagoffs and ball-less wonders. Why the hell do we even try anymore?

I would like to know the story behind the story here. Did the firefighters not care? Did the dicks blow it off? Did the watch commander blow it off? If felony review rejected charges, was the Deputy called for an override? Can anyone with knowledge of this incident tell us what happened?

Criminal damage to state supported property is a felony, why wasn't he charged with that?

8/21/2006 12:06:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I had the same response, however the dicks could have had him charged with a class 4 felony if they worked at it. Any damage to government supported property is a class 4 felony or higher depending on the amount. This statute is continuosly overlooked by dicks and the state. Every jagoff that ever busted out a squad window got charged with this from me and it stuck, although I had to argue with the state and even bosses to get it done.

What else is new? It is time that the city uses it's own home rule to totally bypass fenlony review. The police should just be able to charge people based upon the circumstances. We are not in the business of getting the Cook County State's Attorney re-elected.

When they drop da ball as they often do, go for the override!!! Felony Review Sucks. Ball-Less YES... Clue-Less, YES. Could you even imagine if we had to do a call in for felony narcotics as most suburbs do. OMG! You think your wait of 3 hours to get a call back for a gun is bad. Consider your blows or rock pinch your entire tour plus maybe overtime on the tail end.

To top it off, it was a Sgt who made the arrest, and he had to chase after him, after which he resisted arrest and the taser was deployed. He wasn't even charged with resisting. Maybe the Sgt was to busy to worry about upgrades.

Without knowing the story behind this, many things could have/should have happened. If any felony charge was rejected, an override should have been sought. The only explination I could offer without knowledge is that the firemen didn't wantto deal with it. It's siple enough. We get the charges all the time when shithead kicks out the windows.

Since the firemen either couldn't or wouldn't identify the offender, which is what I thought probably happened anyway, what happened now makes more sense. Sounds like we didn't get a lot of cooperation from the CFD. Is that true?

Blame the 008th District coppers who could not CONVINCE the firefighters of Engine #38 that if they signed complaints they would be protected as well as their families. The thugs told the firefighters that their families were next.
These guys are great men, heroes if you will, they were not given the reassurance that they needed. The coppers were piss poor communicators and allowed the felony to fall from their grasp. Ask the Detectives on the call and you will hear how the 008th District coppers were more worried about going home on time, then going for the felony charge.

Heading south on I-57 towards Carbondale to take the kids to school ???

Be careful.

Rome Township, Jefferson County, near Mt Vernon. The Ill State Police have a speed trap. It is a money maker for BLAGO who needs to pay for those cycles he just bought.

One radar car on overpass...
7 or more new cycles on on ramp with a chase car near the end about 2 miles or so away.

There is absolutely NO professional courtesy to CPD or other police jurisdictions.

Tpr. D. Heiltton (or close to sp.) # 4998 does not believe in police courtesy , he's too busy pimping for Blago's money.

They pull over at least 8 at a time , round robin, all tour. Think about the cash at $75.00 per hit. The ticket takes about 2 minutes to issue.

Quit bitching fireboy!

To be honest, as a police officer who has repeatedly seen the thieving side of fireman over the years, I'd rather have my valuables burn to a crisp than be carried out of my house in your boots.

Lets see. . . Since I've been on the job here's what I've had to deal with when dealing with fireman:

Arrested a fireman for rape of his 13 year old daughter's girlfriend. This same fireman subsequently broke the shoulder of a police officer in 025 during a domestic incident. Unfortunately, he's connected and still has his job.

Had a five-mile vehicle chase with a drunken fireman and his wife at 3:00 a.m. that ended up in a crash at Cicero & Wilson. He then proceeded to both shit and piss his pants in his drunken stupor. Nice!

Had a fireman take $2000 from an alley mechanic that had the money hidden in a cassette tape holder underneath a cinderblock on his garage floor. The man asked me to have the firemen look for it, as it was all the money he had. Amazingly, the plastic cassette holder survived the fire unscathed, but the money burnt up inside. Hmmm. . .

And, most recently, I had to deal with some jagoff Batallion Chief who "on-viewed" a type "A" traffic accident and was mad that we didn't get there sooner. Apparently myself and other units passed up his accident while responding to a "person shot" several block away. When it was explained to him why it took so long he proceeded to call us lazy and left in a huff.

So, I can honestly say that I've never had any good dealings with fireman. As far as I'm concerned, you are all a bunch of lazy drunken useless fucks. Sorry, but thats just how I see it. Now go and be the hero that you believe you are!

Anybody who blames this on the fireman is wrong. You werent there. Im sure they had plenty of input as to how they should let it go.

I have dealt with many fireman while on scene, they are always a lot of fun and seem to have at least 50 times the camaraderie that we the Police have. They stick together as a team. Maybe that is why we jump to there side so often.

No matter what I blame the bosses and the states attorney. That ghetto rat should be locked up. If we would of pushed him around it would of been all over the news.

But instead its not and we sit here pointing the finger at each other. I have no problem with Firefighers and neither should any of you. Quit bashing them...they just might be stopping the blood from your bullet or stab wound someday! Youll be glad to see them then! Lets go after the bosses and states attorney's instead, along with the asshat politicians!

Remember one thing smokey: you guys call on us much more than we call on you. You guys won't even go check on some old lady who fell without calling for a squad car to accompany you. Furthermore, you guys have the honor of calling a 10-1 when the ghetto starts to get a bit too rough. That's when we come flying in and save your asses. If we call a 10-1, do you guys ever show up? How often? You are gonna cry, "we're not required to", huh? We are stacked with jobs, but you guys call for an assist with an old lady and we respond with priority...just because we are the police. If one of us are shot and dying in a house, you guys won't help unless you have assurance the offender is not on scene. You talking tough with the police goes both ways, smokey. We could always take our time when you guys ask our help and remember a certain p/o you guys left to die in a building cause you were to scared to go. Being the police is not for everybody. It is not for the weak. We get sued on a regular basis, work a hard schedule, worry about who's watching who, worry about if your new partner has your back, deal with citizens who hate us for doing our job, and risking our lives every single day. The weak leave and join your department for the nice schedule, no lawsuits, everybody loves you, sit around and bbq, watch porn, sleep, and put out a fire. (I give credit where credit is do..not easy putting out fires) Glad to see the weak leave and go with you guys where they belong. In short, in the ff did not want to cooperate with signing complaints, fuck it. We are adults and they should know better. We should not have to use trickery to get them to sign complaints.

Divide and conquer. You hit the nail on the head. And the race pandering, corrupt, Daley family has elevated this tactic to an art form! First there was affirmative action hiring of police and fireman, and now merit promotions. What's next, a two tiered wage and benefits system to further fractionalize the the thousands of policemen and firemen? With proper direction from real leaders we could be a force to be reckoned with and we would be un-stopable. Imagine the political might of forty thousand or so policemen, firemen, paramedics, and there voting age family members have! It's never too late to change the system. But we need to stick together.

Ya know, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. The theiving side of Firemen? How about all of our own scandals. Go back into your cave.

The Police and the Firemen are the only two departments that protect this city and we should help each other. The only reason there is so much animosity against CFD is that a very few cops stir up the pot because they have a few more benefits than we do. It is not their fault. They just have a better union. If you want to attack any one, attack the FOP, they, not the CFD, sold us out.

If you feel so strongly about CFD, then if your house catches fire or one of your loved ones collapses, HANDLE IT YOURSELF.

As a matter of fact it was because of this that we became Jane Byrne's favorites and started getting good raises.Ask a fireman he will tell you we got those raises cause they went on strike. You guys are either heavily sedated or full of shit and don't remember those times or the history between CFD and CPD. Talk to any Local 2 fireman and they will be the first to tell you they don't want anything we have or anything to do with us. They are a real labor union we are a bunch of idiots with a fraternal organization. Two totally different departments and concepts. All we have in common is we eat from the same trough. CPD is made up of a bunch of prima donnas with good spots who would literally give away their first born to keep those spots and stay out of patrol in uniform. At least CFD has balls and most of their people from Battalion Chief on down work in the firehouse doing the same job. Why would they want to hook up with us against the Mayor we are a bunch of back stabbing, meritorious promoted, special unit cry babies that CFD fireman can't stand.

OK, soooo I posted here on SCC and got some [positive] vibes back. (Insert smile here)

THANKS, 'brothers' !! [generic term]

Let's send a REAL message now,
TO THOSE THAT "REALLY" COUNT!

Screw the City [for now]

Lets show our true brotherhood, to OUR real hero's, those that made that "Ultimate Sacrifice."

This coming September 18th when they finally dedicate OUR* Memorial [* = emphasis added] let's show EVERYONE that we stand behind 'All Those That Served' and especially those that gave their life doing so.
Consider 'their' family(ies). I'm sure not a day goes by when they don't think about or miss their loved ones. WE can send a message to THEM that they will, "Never Walk Alone" by our attendance at this inaugural dedication and candlelight vigil. [A piece of CPD history]
I'm well aware that a lot of us, 'have to work' or have family obligations.[Been dere' dun dat'] But, if you can see fit to make a showing, it will mean a lot to a lot of people, the 'right' people.

Just as we tend to quote the stuff we read 'here' on SCC, why not then likewise spread the word for this positive occasion?

When the families of OUR fallen bretheren look into the assembled crowd, they DESERVE to see row, upon row, upon row, of US, "Chicago's Finest' standing there as a sign of respect and honor.

THEY served. THEY made that ultimate sacrifice.

Let's put away our cynicism, although healthy in our job, for a short while, band together to send THIS message.

Also, if you (can) attend the St. Jude, Springfield, or D.C. ceremonies, next May you'll join our 'brotherhood' and send that same important message to Mrs. Solorio [Eric/CPD] and all the rest of the deserving families of our 'true' commitment to 'Take Care of Our Own.'
"All Gave Some And Some Gave All!"

END OF SPEECH....Those of you that count, got the message. Remember OUR Thin Blue Line.

It will be MY honor to stand among you on Sept. 18 and thereafter.
Keep the Faith!

Sincerely,
CPD.....nearly forty

Hey 01:33:06 PM & SCC
I took the liberty to post that info the State Police site about the down south trooper that wrote the ticket . They found out fast who it was.
Stacey Husselton #4998 out of Dist. 12. They also said don't judge them all by one "DICKHEAD" and they would take care of it.

Why does Local 2 wait for our contract to get done before they attempt theirs? They "negotiate" by doing the "me too" philosophy. Anyone who thinks otherwise, get your head out your rectum.

Because they still have the," Me Too Cause". We gave it up for a false promise. Like the millions of dollars in the pension money that the City owed us, but the FOP thought it would ease the contract confliction from the last one.

In defense of the CFD and I don't know why, the guys on the trucks don't call for the police, the dispatchers on the fire side of 911 send for the police. Trotter insisted on that while he was running 911, don't forget he to is a fireman. His policy and it has remanded today.

Hey 8/21/2006 09:18:28 PM

You gave 4 examples of shitheads out of 5000 members. Hasty generalization? I think so.

To the guy who thought I was threatening to not show up to your house to help your family, your wrong. My point was, to explain to the thick headed, that you guys appreciate when we show up and believe it or not we take extra care when its a family member of a cop or fireman. We give great respect to deceased members and members of their families. For example when an officer died from an illness at home we came in to take the deceased to the hospital morgue so the he was handled with respect instead of being tossed in a bag and thrown into a wagon.

Reading the posts of some of you officers really surprises me. The hatred you show.... I have to hope your all a small minority when it comes to the 12,000 of you out there. I have never in my life, before and after I got on the job, have ever wished harm on any of you police officers yet you laugh and wish our people were hurt more from the animal. I work on both sides of the job and deal with alot of the same shitheads you do.

And about not going in before you get there.... I would if I carried a weapon but I don't. And if there was an incident where someone didn't go in when you one of yours was down and you were there to provide protection than all I can say is I'm sorry for having some people on our job without balls. But I do remember some stories recently where some of your own turned and ran during some incidents too. So we both have our problems don't we?

And finally to all who claim we're all drunks, well, I'll have to talk to some of the cops I sit next to at my bar. I wonder what they have to say about that.

Now I have to go. It's 5 o'clock and I don't want to loose my stool at the bar. I'll have a beer for you guys.
Later gator!

Off Topic WARNING :

8/21/2006 01:33:06 PM

10-43.......

1 - There is NO Trooper Heilitton, nor anyone with that name or ID # for ISP.

2 - None of the ticket $$ go to ISP. It goes to county citation is written in.

3 - ISP runs those speed details every year on weekends ( Fall, Fall break, Spring, and Spring break ) that the students return...... geez

4 - If you just went slower ISP would have never stopped you. You ever delt with a rollover or head on at 90 + mph..... UGLY...

5 - If you're running 90 + when ISP is running a speed detail you probably won't get a break. Their command is usally on scene and listens to speed being called out to the Trooper that stops you. This screws Trooper who stops you, as he has little choice but to write you since command knows what the speed was. All one has to do is just slow down.. That's all...... not hard... it's real easy... Let ISP stop all the other idiots out there hauling butt.....Why attract unwanted attention attention to yourself.

No, you wrote your own ticket not the Trooper...... he just filled it out for you......

Speaking of travesties, I'd like to thank the Alsip Police Sgt who wrote my son a parking ticket just South of Marist High School. I normally wouldn't have a problem with this, but the jagoff had to see the police sticker (pbpa) above the city sticker when he copied the city sticker number onto the ticket! I guess "professional consideration" IS gone, as stated previously on this post.

Yes we do have problems in both departments. Look at the posts regarding the "recent" situation where our own were afraid to be the police. Not one person on this blog or department justified their actions. That's why they got fired. They should have chose a different career. Streets and san, water, CFD...anything else but police.

I will take issue with what you said. J. Orozco was the HMFIC of CFD when I started. They could refuse a job or call us to check out the situation before they showed up. Before you lay ALL the blame on that ignorant ass Trotter, we might as well be righteous in our house.
