County Dems Worried?

  • In an exclusive CBS 2 News report, CBS 2's Mike Parker has learned that some leaders among the Democrats want Todd Stroger off the ballot for November and replaced by a stronger candidate to face Peraica.
Mike Parker is a softball and there's nothing here to dispel that feeling, but wouldn't this be hilarious? Anointed son gets tossed off the ballot for running a lethargic and lackluster effort? It won't happen, of course. Too many deals have already been cut, but it'd be funny.

It'd be funnier if Peraica actually wins.

Don't count Peraica out. A lot of people aren't happy with baby Stroger and they know it.

Praise the Lord! Like the CITY, Michael Shakman is now calling for a federal monitor for the COUNTY.

We need a two-pronged attack against political patronage and nepotism. The hiring and promotions of grossly incompetent, political hack morons requires a coordinated, all-out assault.

I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I always end up voting for the lesser of two evils. I could best be described as an independent who could never vote for a Democrat.

If the future of this City, Cook County and indeed, the nation is to escape impeding doom, there should be a bounty on Democrats. They are destroying this once great nation.

Corrupt Chicago and Cook County politics are a notorious national disgrace.

I pray that U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald will run for mayor.

God bless Mike Shakman and his relentless attack on "da Chicago way"!

sort of like the time the army guy fell in to rosty's seat. definitly upset the powers that be, but it only took one term before he was finished. If it happens he should use his whole term to pass over records to the feds(not that i am a fan of the feds) and clean house do the most damage he can to the machine before he is ousted.

To 3:15:01, I agree with your asessment of the Dems. However,I don't agree with your opinion that the GOP is better. While in power in Springfield, thr GOP stole this state blind. Case in point; George Ryan. He will probably go down as one of the most corrupt pols in state history. The lobbying scandal in Washington has almost the ENTIRE GOP nervous.(Not to mention a few democrats too.) And last but not least, our current administration in the White House. Illegals srolling in, corporations and jobs shipping out. What this country needs is a credible THIRD PARTY to keep the other two parties honest.

This Peraica could win! Was working off-duty at Grant Park weeks ago. A f/2/60yo from Hyde park, who didnt know I was the Police was telling me that her species/group was quite disgusted w/the sham that was pulled w/the old man Stroger and the stroke and w/him giving orders from the bed. So alot of these liberals are going to vote for the rival..... according to her....

TO 1:00

George Ryan was as much of a Republican as I am a stalk of asparagus! The Dem candidate, Glen Poshard, was talking about statewide reform and he was making Daley, Madigan and Stroger very nervous. The Chicago Machine backed Ryan because he was good for old-time graft! Did you know that several democratic political crews from here were sent Downstate to work his campaign?

Look at how many millions in state work projects were for the Cook county and Chicago area. Remember the Illinois First projects? Ryan was funded by so many staunch Cook County Democratic Party contributors the list is mind numbing! A good example is Demetrios Kazonis, a northside real-estate developer. Kazonis was a long time contributor to 45th Ward ALd. Levar and funded many of his campaigns. Levar at one point had his offices in one of Kazonis' buildings. When Ryan had several TIF districts created in Cook County, Kazonis was tapped as the developer of those TIF areas. If you look carefully at the list of Ryan's contributors, Kazonis, his family and his several businesses all contributed heavily to Ryans campaign fund.
Why back politicians in opposing parties? Because during the Ryan regime, there was no such thing as a 2 party system. It was just one big party for Chicago Dems and anybody who played ball with them.

The answer is not a 3rd political party, just accountability of those currently in office.
