Fugitive Surrenders

  • A fugitive suspected of fatally shooting a New York state trooper and wounding two others while on the run for more than five months surrendered to police who had cornered him in a field just over the Pennsylvania border Friday night.
Five months on the run, one dead cop and two critically injured. New York reinstated the death penalty for capital murder a few years back, didn't they?

NEW THREAD ALERT!!

http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-nazi09.html

On Friday, Kozak was arrested in a new weapons case. He was charged with felony possession of two automatic weapons, as well as misdemeanor charges of having 63 other unregistered pistols, rifles and shotguns in the same Northwest Side apartment in the 4100 block of West Barry, officials said.

Chicago Police officers in the Calumet Area gun team searched the apartment after getting a tip that unregistered weapons were there. The ATF and the Chicago Fire Department also participated in the search.

A2 Gun Team at it again, this time on the NW Side???

Kozak has another home in Michigan, and investigators will check to see whether any guns are there, Ahern said.

Please post a thread on this.

I work midnights and was just awaken AGAIN by a police charity telemarketer. It's been FOP, PBPA snd now Chicago Patrolman's Association.

I told them I already contribute to police charities and please consult the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST.

This pisses me off, I can't turn of the phone because I have a teenage kid and God forbid something happens!

would it be so much to ask for, that the area 2 gun team get a gun from a gang member? Or even get a guy on the street with a pistol?
how much of an investigation did you do, other than getting a list from atf of recently purchased handguns that are not registered?
with all the shootings on the south-side, is it really that hard to find shooters on the street?

That MF killed a 32 yoa tropper, who had to have his right leg removed in an attempt to save his life, bullet hit femoral artery. Wife and seven month child. Two other troopers also serously wounded most likely unable to resume police careers?

MF attempted to asssinate coppers sitting on surveilance with high powered weapon. Shot through unmarked squad.

My problem is that the MF pointed his gun at the police before running into the woods. They fired and missed, I hope there not trained by the CPD range instructors. That piece of shit should have been shot to pieces.

New York probably has a range like ours were U just shoot at paper, no combat training. God rest the poor p/o and God help his family and fallen brothers....

So now we all took the ethics test. Is it ethical when you are a Commander of a unit or any other person with a City of Chicago Police Vehicle to drive that car to Costco in Niles on a Saturday morning or any other day and go shopping with your wife at the expense of the tax payers for the city of chicago ???

Unregistered fire arms are an ordinance violation. It is not a felony to have unregistered weapons. A judge aactually approves search warrants for ordinance violatons?

So, there A/2 gun Team goes to the other side of the city to execute a search warrant on an ordinance violation?

Either something is not being reported by the Department here, or we are in big trouble in this city if a group of police officers can break into your home and confiscate your property on the basis of vilating an ordinance violation.

I do hope they had smoe other probable cause and that it relates to A/2. There has to be more here, I hope.

I used to have the same problem. I very angrily told them that they are frauds and demanded their phone numbers and addresses so I could report them to the proper authorities. They have never called me since. I think I was so insulting, they put me on their own do not call list.

TO: Area 2 Gun Team and the "one rock police".

FROM: A retired copper who has made over a thousand Part I felony arrests during his career.

SUBJECT: Sandbagging.

If the criticism on the arrest of the CFD firefighter for "failure to register" is true, you should be ashamed of yourselves. The poor guy even gets pictured in the media as if he was a serial murderer.

Even if he did have Nazi, Black Panther, Aryan Nation, etc. literature/paraphenalia in his home, so what? It's called the First Amendment.

Two full auto World War II machineguns and a bullet-proof vest? Big fuckin' deal. (Yawn)

What a fucking smear job! Have you no shame?

As I write, there's a teen standing outside White Castle at 115th & Michigan smoking a roach. Sounds like a case for the jack-booted facists of the Area 2 Gun Team.

Go get him, tigers!

I personally don't have any interests in what the Area 2 Gun Team has done or will do. My only comment on the gun seizure is as follows.

When a person has this many weapopns in his home, the problem is that if somebody breaks into their residence and steals these unsecure weapons, there is going to that many more weapons on the street that can be used against the police or our families.

If all these weapons were in weapon safes or other very secure places, then I feel taking these weapons from a collector is wrong. If they were unsecure, god bless the cops than did their job!

Speaking of the Area, what's up with the rumor starting about another Area Gang/Tact team being created for each area? Manpower to be drawn from the districts again. Can anyone confirm?

Possible Answer:

I think the bosses are going to wait to see what the S.O.S. scandal and the upcoming O.C.D.-Prostitution Federal indictments bring then let things cool down before starting anything new. With about 10 officers being stripped in S.O.S. and about the same expected in Vice, the bosses have enough to worry about.

fop was sued by two officers who were IOD and never received a dime from the professional fund used by FOP

Donations were cut
80% for "professional fund"
20% for FOP

Sold the good name of FOP for 20 cents on the dollar

Original suit tossed out of court an appeal was filed by the officers and they won the appeal

case still pending professional fund offered a settlement don't know if the officers took it

FOP no longer registered as a Charity with Illinois Attorney General

Current FOP Leadership had too much trouble with the "correct" financial statement underreported salaries for the top three employees, president and two lawyers of FOP on 2003 return which was amended "twice"

In 2002 FOP reported that two of the highest paid employees of FOP were the janitors no lawyers listed

now you ask How did that happen?

Either something is very wrong here or something is not being told to the media. They searched the apartment becaused the got a tip about unregistered guns on the other side of the city? Unregistered guns? An ordinance violation? Isn't that the equivalent of searching private garages based on a tip that the vehicles have no city stickers?

OK, the did find a few illegal weapons, but they were not looking for those. They were looking for unregistered weapons. Now, I really hope they are holding something back, otherwise the whole city has something to fear. Having homes and property searched over ordinance violations- and there are a few thousand of those.

I personally know the man in question and can attest to the fact that he is nothing more than an avid collector of guns and his firearms were all secured in a safe as well. Nazi paraphenalia makes me laugh. The guy is middle aged and never hurt a fly, detonated a pipe bomb, been locked up for assault or anything else, and is a firefighter to boot. Guess the media has to throw that in there though as if you no longer have the right to have "offensive" items in your house.. Too bad he wasn't a Muslim, we never would have heard about the story!

Got to love a gun team from the far south side that seems to keep jamming up the regular guy.

In addition, I can personally speak from experience and let you know that the CAGE team and their Fed cohorts are constantly looking to jam up Chicago Cops and the good guys.

Area Two gun team are the victims of some jealous cocksuckers, probably lazy coppers that never wrote a search warrant in their careers. It seems that after every big gun seizure, someone complains or makes jealous nasty rumours about the Area Two gun team. Regardless if guns are in safes or not ASSHOLE what the fireman had is ILLEGAL. YOU MUST BE ON THE TAKE ASSHOLE not wanting to ENFORCE the law. From what I read and saw in the news, both in the paper and on T.V. the Area Two gun team get my support. WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE NEXT DOOR TO AN OFFENDER WITH THIS MUCH FIREPOWER? Uncertain? Area Two gun team also has NO TAKE HOME VEHICLES. THEY SHOULD. If I was on the team, I would quit with all the bullshit they got to take from ASSHOLES. The Area Two gun team are setting top examples in the Chicago Police Department for the new guys on the job. Those Area Two gun guys should get take home vehicles, promotions, and huge awards for what they have done in the recent year. Anyone listening? I mean those guys work. WORK is the four letter word the ASSHOLES on this site are scared of. I personally have observed those Area Two gun guys inventory weapon after weapon each day, each week. Sweat and determination on each of the same faces on those guys and gals of the Area Two gun team. AND NO PROMOTIONS. I have also seen DOGS get promoted never known in their careers what work is. SAD, BUT TRUE. Ain't talkin bout the sergeants, but the GRUNTS. HOO RAH.

To 9/11/2006 12:38:16 AM,

Hey mope, they seem to have a pattern of locking up middle aged white males without IR numbers. They should be ridiculed and embarassed into investigating streetgang members with their weapons. You call this a healthy work ethic for a city policeman? If you do maybe you should get your can out of the office and do some real work and find out what thats like, unless you're scared to. In that case go with them on their next BS gun haul.
