Grossman continues to be an adequate quarterback. We still wonder if he's the guy for the job, but he's getting it done when it needs to be. The running game is picking up for the home stretch, so that shortens the odds on a decent playoff run. And you can't say enough about this defense.

I had the opportunity to meet a real lowlife tonight. A ppo is about to recover a weapon from under a car when some 2year wonder lowlife from TRU runs up next to the officer extends his asp and sweeps up the weapon. All for some stat or other B.S. What a loser! This fool from TRU's partner didn't even have anything to say because he knew his partner was an ass. I've met plenty of other p.o's from TRU and have had them back me up plenty of times, but I've never seen any of them pull a stunt like this. The fool who did this is an embarassment to his unit and isn't qualified to sweep the parkinglot at 35th st.
It was hard, again, to listen to the two assholes that were annouoncing the Bears game on Channel 32.
The whole fist half was that the Bears were flat and what a great effort the Jets were putting together. BUT THE SCORE WAS 0 - 0.
Now in the second half it was a different story with these two flannel mouth assholes. The Bears were even flatter and the Jets looked even better than the first half. EVEN THROUGH THE SCORE WAS BEARS 3 AND THE JETS STILL 0.
These and all other annouoncers hate CHICAGO. The younger ones don't know why they are supposed to hate Chicago but they do.
I beleive this stems from the 1968 Democratic Convention when Dan Rather got a slap across the ass with a night stick. Apparently not enough media people were beaten with nightsticks, maced or otherwise slapped around.

As a season ticket holder it was a hard game to watch. (02:12 AM) was correct about the announcers not showing the Bears any respect. I usually watch the game on TV and listen to our "homers" on the radio. This game was more like a repeat of many games the Bears played last season. But hey, whatever it takes to win is ok with me.
Enjoy these BARE wins now because they are not going to happen in the post season. The Bares will not make it thru to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
They have the D FENCE but Rex is in a coma and just making it isnt going to cut it in the post season.

People have to be patient with Grossman. Though he has 4 years in the league, experience wise, he is not much more that a rookie. Part of the reason for our lack of faith in Grossman is that we Bears fans are not used to knowing the time line that it takes to develop a great quarterback. (We haven't had one since Sid Luckman in the '40's, and please don't tell me about the overrated coke head McMahon who if he could have stayed healthy might have led the Bears to at least one and maybe two more Superbowls.) Grossman will, if he stays healthy, will be at the least very good and the most great, but it won't be this year, and we have to be patient.
Off topic from a White Sox fan, but the Cubs might just be getting serious about winning with the signing of Alfonso Soriano.

Sure the media is still having a field day exploiting or romanticizing the '68 convention. Yes it is difficult to stomach most tv coverage crews with the exception of Madden who tends to be pro Bears. But it is people like Madden's partner Al Michaels and his moron buddy Deardorth who still have the bitter taste in thier mouths from being spanked in the '63 Championship. The Bears could win out the rest of the year and most analysts will still apprehensively give them credit, but the story will always highlight the fact that they once again lost to Miami. Face it, the Bears won't get respect until they can put together a few winning seasons with a couple of superbowl titles. Ask the New England fans how thier team was perceived prior to the Brady years, now they are the "best" team in the AFC since Indi can't win a playoff game. We as Bears fans take the criticism more personnaly since football brings out so many emotions, but we have to look past the ramblings of former jocks who hate the Bears for any ass-wooping they got from BUTKUS, PAYTON, SINGLETARY, PETIBONE, SAYERS, and any other former midway player who graced the gridiron. Last of all, you can always turn up the radio.

Bet it will never happen to the PPO again. So the TRU officer behaved like a punk, it's a learning lesson. The move sounds like it was unsafe, especially if the PPO was close to the gun. Now that's a learning lesson for all but at the sake of the PPO, not good! Is so, reaming here of TRU P.O. is GOOD!

That's the whole story? definetely more to that, i's love to hear the other side, how it started, who started it, who's chase? not just who got the gun, in those instances there are always multiple people involved, and once the arrest is made and the gun recovered, the fight over who's it is usually starts, rule of thumb, whoevers chase it is gets the head, whoever recovers goes in with the inventory and box 2 unless he doesn't want it, which is almost never the case.
A couple weeks ago a Sgt. in TRU caught an offender who bailed from a car being chased by a car from 015, even with his own people around he looked for whos chase it was and handed over the head to them, that's the way it should be and showed what he was about.
That's nothing, I had a guy from own tac team try to steal a gun pinch from me........

every scenario is different but for the most part the same concept applies. if we initiate/start it, you end up with something based on our flash, you get put on the paper but we are in the boxes and we are inventoring.

while in sos working in 11th district around 1999 we spot a hot car..we call it in and follow it w/b on chicago from central park..we get stuck behind a bus and truck..we get to chicago/pulaski and 3-11th dist cars have it stopped and all offenders in their cars...i tell them thanks and we will meet them in the station..one guy tells me "its ours we stopped them and cuffed them". i told them cool i will drive the car in for you.ha ha..they waited 2-hours for us and we refused to answer the radio..we got in and only one officer was sitting with the arrestee's...we told him thanks and did all the paper and threw away their arrest reports....thanks guys but you cant f##k a old gang guy..true story..
