Cops Hurt

Somehow we missed the incident up north where two cops in an unmarked got clocked near Foster and Austin. Any word on those two?

And then Thursday's article on the Channel 2 website about a copper hurt in a high rise fire. We heard that three cops went to get checked out, but only one went by ambulance. Everyone is supposed to be ok though.

Be careful out there.

like i;ve said before...i'm plain clothes, most tac cars on the street have worthless emergency equipment...just a pair of strobes and wig wags no body i mean no body can see you coming.!!! granted the new cars are equipped perfectly but why isnt every unmarked car out there have the same set up...the more lights the better. but again are safety doesn't mean much

The girls from 016 are fine. Really banged up but nothing broken. They weren't going to a call, some woman blew a red light, hit them hard and knocked them into a van. They were pretty shaken up and I am sure they will be off for a long time.

Supposedly, if you take your unmarked to the area 1 garage on days, they will retrofit you car with the LED lights that all of the boss's cars come with. I never work days, so I don't know if they will, or if they have to down the car.

BOTH FEMALE P/O'S WILL BE OK. VERY GOOD THEY HAD THEIR SEATBELTS ON. AN OLD LADY WENT AROUND A TRUCK, BLEW A RED LIGHT AND CREAMED THEM. DOORS OPENED ON SQUAD CAR. NO EJECTIONS DUE TO THE SEATBELTS. HELL OF A WAY TO GET THE HOLIDAYS OFF.

Officer safety which should be the top priority is on the bottom of the list. That is of course different if you are a boss driving one of those nice new cars that come out of HQ.

Every squad car should be fully equipped with clearly visible lighting. Our department that wastes tons of money in areas that are not needed (ie: overpaid inspectors looking for expired license plates in district station parking lots)should shoot that money on making sure our cars are clearly marked.

Take a look at the suburban squad cars or even better look at the CFD emergency vehicles. The latest light bars and the loudest horns imaginable.

Hey bosses down at 35TH street get your heads out of your asses and start taking care of the men and women who are out there decreasing the crime rate and putting their lives on the line day in and day out.

To all my brothers and sisters in blue have a happy holiday and be safe.

the tact car at foster/austin was w/b on foster when a van going e/b on foster was struck by a car that ran the red light s/b on austin causing the van to go into the w/b lanes hitting the tact car head on.

they had the green and another driver blew a red light, they had no emergency equipment activated. some moron blew a red light and knocked another van into them, then that suv hit them as well. both are ok...smashed up but the seat belts saved them. was as the scene, make sure you wear that belt everyone

Two female tactical officers. Banged up pretty good but were treated and released from L.G.H.
They were e/b foster when car going n/b on austin blew red light. That car struck tact car which then forced into a w/b car.

Anyone know what happened to the A/4 gun team? They're gone. Vanished. Hasta la vista, baby. Detailed to places far, far from home.

The two p.o.s from 016 are fine. They were sitting in traffic, from my understanding. A car ran the light and struck another car before them. They also were driving one of the new cars with the blue lights. Those extra lights do make a difference in being seen.

agree, whaaa whaaaaa , what does the emergency equipment have to do with this accident moron?. these two were minding their own business, had the green and someone blew the red light and they got clocked good. maybe you just should go back to a marked squad, or reading comprehension class. the finality in all this is wear the fricken seatbelt. it saved their lives.

both will be ok, banged up good. wear your seatbelt all, it saved them from going through the windshield. also, emergency equipment is what it is, at least these cars come with airbags.

The pussy whose all big talk on the blog with his "go back to patrol " just doesn't get it. !f you don' t bitch about our department's lack of good equipment and lack of P.O.s who will? We are way behind any other major department when it comes to communication, trustworthy and properly equipped vehicles (getting there just needs to be done to all cars), ancient PDT's, and piss poor firepower. So for the desk jockey who thinks going back to patrol is the answer get ur head outta ur ass stupid!! AND STOP PRETENDING TO BE A HARDASS YOUR NOT VERY SCARY ON THE COMPUTER AT 35TH ST

Rumor is A/4 Gun Team got in a drunken brawl after their Christmas Party and opened up some citizens head then left the scene without leaving paper, etc.

Supposedly it was caught on video. The Team sergeant was dumped to 1st watch on the far southside, and the team split up and reassigned. (those involved anyway)

It a shame too, they're all good guys! (unfortunately probably just drank to much at the party..like most of us do!)then probably lost their patience while dealing with some a-hole citizen.

All just speculation since I wasn't there. As Snoop Dogg say's "I ain't tellin..I'm just sayin!"
