Write A Letter, Sign a Petition

First up, via Paul Huebl, a request from the family of Harry Belluomini, a retired CPD detective killed in 1992 by an escaping bank robber in the Federal Building. Robert Burke was convicted of smuggling in a handcuff key that Jeffrey Erickson used to effect an escape and kill two Deputy US Marshalls, one of them being Belluomini.
  • Robert Burke is being re-sentenced for his part in this horrible crime. The family of hero, Harry A. Belluomini is asking for assistance from fellow coppers to let the trial Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer the gravity and impact of this crime on this close-knit police family and the entire community.
We know we have loads of retirees reading from Vegas and around the country who knew Belluomini. If you can make the time, click on the link and write the letter to Judge Pallmeyer. There are 3 Belluominis on the job today - all Harry's kids.

Next up is an on line petition, not to dissimilar from the one we linked to last year when certain aldercreatures attempted to name a street after convicted felon, advocate of killing police officers and general all around piece of shit Fred Hampton. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds, if not thousands, that little episode never came to fruition. Someone in New York is attempting to name a street after that other piece of excrement, Mumia. Hop over to this link and sign the petition. Then have your spouses do it. Then mail it out to a few people and get them to sign it. We ought to be able to get that petition up a couple thousand numbers ASAP. Use legit names and such - this is a serious petition.

Thanks.

Fellow CPD coppers......

Go back to this site and click on the highlighted portion to [electronically] sign the petition for our 'Brothers in Blue" in the NYPD[proposal to name a street after a NYPD cop -killer]
It takes 30 seconds.

You need not put 'all' your personal info in the petition [it's marked "optional"] in those boxes, but I would suggest you at least include "CHICAGO" in the city box and if you leave a message in the 'text' box, kindly end with the identifier "CHICAGO POLICE DEPT" after your message.

It's the least we could do. Our counterparts in New 'Yawk' were very supportive in our cause to terminate the Fred [is dead] Hampton street sign.

Remember that "Thin Blue Line"
[It has NO boundries]

"2 of the kids are dogs" what the hell does YOUR personal opinion have to do with the fact that Harry Belluomini was gunned down doing HIS job?
You are a balless, spinelss "jag-goof" to use this forum to attack people who lost their Dad in the most violent way possible.

Some of you guys are unbelieveable! All he is asking you to do is sign a petition to help prevent the release of a scumbag WHO MURDERED A CHICAGO POLICE OFFICER and you come up with things like F Crimefile or his kids are dogs. Who cares! Harry was a great Detective and a good man who was gunned down when he should have been enjoying his retirement but instead chose to continue working to help his family. It could have been your dad or someone you know. He's a hero, a type of guy that most of you should aspire to be like and yet you make negative comments like those. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. If you were half the man that Harry was, you WOULD be ashamed of yourself and go find a place to hide. Your an embarrassment to the job and yourselves!

100% class act family. For you to say something like that-- I hope to God you arent a cop. And if you are, I would pray you wouldnt have to go through something as horrible as losing a father violently. Regardless what you think of the "2" you deem dogs, keep your opinions to yourself. This link was to do something for a CPD family. Ill put next months uniform check on the fact that you haven't worked with either of them. I've been on for 5 years and have met all 3 of them and they are nothing but gooc people. So in so many words-- god fuck yourself.

I worked with one of the Belluominis in the 011th District for many years and found him to be an outstanding, hard-working Police Officer that’s a credit to this department. He’s the kind of P.O. that would be the first to help another P.O. in need. I also had the opportunity to meet the other two who would also help a fellow officer in need and are also a credit to this department.

Whatever negative opinions you may have about someone, this isn’t the time or place for it.

This is a time we all need to get together to support and honor a fellow fallen officer and his family, not to talk trash about their family.

Anyone who ever worked the Detective Division with "Harry Bells", knew that aside from being an outstanding detective, his great personality and sardonic sense of humor endeared him to all--a class act who always brought a smile to our faces.

Though retired from the CPD at the time of the Federal Bldg. shoot-out, Harry died a hero copper. Justice cries out that his retired star should be hanging among our fallen comrades at 35th St.

God bless the souls of Det. Harry BELLUOMINI and Officer Danny FAULKNER, Philadelphia P.D.

May Wesley "Mumia Abu Jamal" COOK join cop-killer ERICKSON in Hell soon--real soon!

With all the censoring you do, SCC, why would you let a hateful comment about the children of a slain officer get posted? Not only did they suffer with the murder of their Dad, they endured a very public trial and the unfolding of just how that dog escaped and killed their father, who died a true hero. These are our brothers and sisters, can we put aside jealousy and hatred of each other for even one minute? Is it any wonder when bosses read this blog they get the impression we can't stick together on anything? Even the most horrific of deaths is used to spread rumors and hatred. God help us, we are pathetic.

To the clowns who left the first two comments. You two are obviously not a coppers cop. Harry Belluomini took a bullet which ended his life, but was still able too shoot and stop a deadly killer. He is a hero and deserves justice. You two are cowards. I'll leave my name will you? P.O.K.Kaner

You should know all too well, Officer Kaner.

Your daddy and I worked the same watch in 011 until both of us were transferred to 007 and DDA-3, respectively. Now his star hangs on the HQ wall and his ultimate sacrifice is memorialized at both Gold Star Families Memorial Park and in D.C.

Off. Kenneth G. Kaner, 007. Shotgunned to death while working a one-man car at 74th St. and Union Ave. in the early morning hours of June 19, 1970. Rest in Peace, Kenny!

HEY ASSHOLE-IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOUR RETIRED FROM THE JOB OR NOT-YOUR ALWAYS THE POLICE DICKHEAD AND HARRY BELLUOMINI PROVED THAT!

To the asshole who said he was retired at the time and not the police,if Harry would have turned and ran the other way like you would have done he would still be here today like you coward! He probably did more police work retired than you did in your gut-less career! If that Erickson would have gotten past Harry there is no doubt that there would have been a couple of more police stars retired at H.Q. Erickson was a former Marine and a former Suburban police officer, so he was all to familiar with weapons and police and combat tactics! So we should all be thankful that there were and hopefully still are coppers like Harry!

He was retired from C.P.D. , but he was a sworn C.S.O. which are part of the U.S. Marshalls office. So that made him a Federal Law Enforcement Officer.

Who the f@#k cares if he was retired at the time. You and 7:31:21 are possibly the two biggest a$$holes in the world. If you are infact the police, then both of you please do us all a favor and just swallow your pistols!

It doesn't really matter if he was retired, off-duty or a law officer from anywhere in the world. I dont know about anyone else, but being a Chicago Police Officer doesn't make you an ISLAND. I'm not an elitist. When I hear the news of an officer being killed I know that somewhere there is a son, daughter or wife who is grieving. It doesn't matter if it's a Chicago police officer or an Iraqi police officer somewhere a person lost there life fighting the good fight and thats all that matters. So either support the fight or step aside.
