And ya know the sun's settin' fast
And just like they say, nothing good ever lasts
Go on now and kiss it goodbye
But hold on to your lover 'cause your heart's bound to die
Go on now and say goodbye to our town, to our town
Can't you see the sun's settin' down on our town, on our town
Goodnight.

Up the street beside the red neon light
That's where I met my baby one hot summer night
He was the tender and I ordered a beer
It's been twenty years and I'm still sittin' here.

And ya know the sun's settin' fast
And just like they say, nothing good ever lasts
Go on now and kiss it goodbye
But hold on to your lover 'cause your heart's bound to die.
Go on now and say goodbye to our town, to our town
Can't you see the sun's settin' down on our town, on our town
Goodnight.
It's here I had my babies and I had my first kiss
I've walked down Main street in the cold morning mist
Over there is where I bought my first car
It turned over once but then it never went far.

Goodnight

IF you can't contribute, in-person or in-kind donation, just say a prayer [whatever faith or belief] for him and his family.
As stated earlier WE are all in this together as Chicago's 'First Responders.'
Enough said.......R.I.P. 'Brother'

May God Bless Bill Grant's Widow and children. I hope the city doesnt treat them like the Widow and children of Michael Gordon. An on-duty policeman who was killed during the commission of a felony(501 driver) and is denied Line of Duty Benefits. Shame on the city and our FOP. There is a BIG difference between performance of duty vs Line of duty.

Please let all know the following regarding the services:
THERE ARE ONLY 3 WAYS TO GET INTO AREA OF CHRIST THE KING!!!!
91st & Western
95th ST @ Leavitt
95th ST @ Damen
There are a ton of cul-de-sacs that will literally lead you back OUT the neighborhood so I reccommend using 95th ST at Leavitt. See you there.

Got a chance to talk to the NYFD guys last night. Good kids. Wish them well.

I'm sure glad I chose the FD over the PD a few years back. You guys sure do get your share of shit. We have it much easier and believe it or not most of us respect and admire you guys.

There seems to be quite a few of you who are not to happy with Cline. Our Commissioner, although heavier than whale shit, is a good guy. Backs his guys up.

Was at the funeral today. A few CPD guys there. Thanks for coming.

Talked to one blue shirt who pointed something out to me. I guess your Superintendent now has a Sergeant driving for him. I was under the impression from friends and media accounts you guys were short on bosses. OH WELL!! As Sean Connery said in the Untouchables "Its the Chicago Way."

Be careful and stay safe.

Friend from CFD.
