County Insanity

  • More than $130 million in unpaid Cook County hospital bills have been found stuffed into boxes -- and officials said 40 or 50 more boxes could be stashed somewhere else.

While finances and bookkeeping were long known to be a problem in the hospital system, County Board members learned Tuesday just how big the problem had become during the tenure of ex-Board President John Stroger.

The 77 boxes recently discovered were each stuffed with about 2,500 billing forms.

And hospital chief Dr. Robert Simon said there could be another 40 or 50 similar boxes hidden elsewhere.

And Urkel wants to raise taxes and fees to cover his (and his daddy's) budget shortfalls? It's about time to disband county government. They've outlived their usefulness.

Umm, hold on there sparky!

So, you are sorta saying that the Sheriff's Police has to pay for the ills of the county hospital?

CCH I REFUSE to call it Stroger!)was responsible for more than 3/4 of the budget shortfall. Why do we have to get fucked for their incompetance? I hear that 2008 will be just as bad, moneywise.

Thats akin to saying; lets shitcan a thousand or so of your coppers so that richie can fund his little olympic party. You guys going to stand for that?

Morale at the square is in the toilet. They laid off our whole damned narcotics lab, a bunch of civilians, and we still dont know how many cops are going to get axed. We had 3-4 recruits recuse their appointment to the CCSPD and go back to the jail where it is safer, save for a court edict that speaks to staffing there. As a lowly Sergeant, how do I ramp up my guys and gals when all they want us to do is to impound cars? Do police work? Conduct good preliminary investigations? nooooooooo! Get me cars says Mr. St. Baldrick, who has his nose so far up Tommy D's ass they are fused together!

Chicago has it's problems, yes siree. So does the county. Lets see, we are short cops, down about 8 sergeants and 3 lieutenants, our fleet is a mess (at 109,000 miles, my squad is a spring chicken compared to the rest of my watch!) our radios suck, we have no computers, our orders and directive are so terrible they even confuse Captain Dave, and my ability to discipline was pared to me giving a cop a "time out" like a 4 year old thanks to the IG's office (and who the fuck are they? We handled our dirty laundry in house for 35 years, now we need an IG to hold our IAD's hand? Oh, that's right, Tommy K. needs a job, go blue!

I just hope that our child exploitation unit finds that short dicked Toddler in bed with a 12 year old. Until then: HELLO PAT FITZGERALD ------ PAGING MR. FITZGERALD!! The goons at the county building and Daley Center await....

Stay safe all.

Signed,

A Concerned County Police Sergeant
AFSCME Local 3953

Just keep on voting Democrat and going to your wallet for more tax dollars to pay. Or be real smart and be like all the thousands of taxpayers who packed up and moved out of Crook County.

First of all, HOW DARE YOU suggest dude pay for his own medical care! These jagoff gang bangers get close to $100,000 a day in ICU care after being shot while working the dope spot. If they had to pay the bills, how would they afford an SUV with $2000 rims?
Secondly, CCSP shouldn't complain. That is a huge clout job.No chance of getting on without a phone call. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. The world could survive if they disbanded CCSP. Their workload is not monumental.A friend of mine who was in the dept. told me that he would go weeks at a crack witout a call or an arrest (by the way no DL/no insurance TVB is considered an arrest there).

This could be a theft also... they could of been paid to hide the bills so the responsible payee or company didnt have to pay these bills or maybe some of these bills were paid and the money was taken, so they hide the bills so they are not on record.

It's a crying f*cking shame that they can't get ahold of a billing system that works...this isn't rocket science...if a large corp can manage accnts. payable dept why can't the county? Same thing with accnts receivable. What the f*ck?
