Protest Stories

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Channel 7, Channel 5, and the Tribune cover it.

Anyone out there have stories? The news said zero arrests. Must have been boring beyond belief.

Open post for now.

The only people who showed were wanna be hippies, conspiracy theorists and the homeless. The speeches were given by people who couldn't point out Iraq on a map, and the chants had the passion of a dentist's waiting room. A complete flop. The democrats brought out their best and brightest. CPD and ISP were 100% professional and ready...the protest just forgot to show up.

Maybe 3,000 losers walking around aimlessly. Probably about 136 jobs between them.

i was there for the protests. there were maybe 1800 souls there. if this is all that they got to prove their point as a national part of a protest they should give it up. most individuals were the typical young no life experience types, the older left behind sixties radical types mixed in with the rich guilty counscious types. i was once a just out of college liberal but got life experience through jobs like i currently have. these people are delusional and are the vast minority and they should be made to feel so. however the msm will report this like its a major accomplishment. be safe and be positive. a southside po.

most of the individuals where "intellectuals" from colleges that teach from a politically void environment ie there is only one political ideology on all college campuses and that is the liberal/social thought on politics. the ratio of liberal versus conservative on college campuses in the u.s. is 90/10 and the ratio in journalism schools is even worse. no wonder the msm is the way it is. until this is changed nothing will change. one of the leaders to change this david horowitz. please link his site, frontpagemag.com. he has brought this issue to congress and continues to address this issue to colleges and universities through the united states. god bless the u.s. and god bless our po's. a southside po.

i spent some time in iraq. and i think we should be there. all of these people that say WE are commiting war crimes should wake up. we never cut off heads of the iraqi afgani(sp) people. We never flew Bombs (comercial jet planes)into buildings with non-combatants(sp). i have been to some of saddams grave sites. and seen the horror that has come from him. have you? I support the troops and will always i would love to see them come home but not until the job is done. NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND. I hate to see any soldier/marine lose their life, but that is what we signed up for. I was one of the lucky ones i did my time and wasen't hurt.(thank god) but i have seen my share of shit. I have had to deal with loseing people. we all knew that that was the price that we might have to pay. But we where there for each other. F these people that protest. put on my boots and walk in them. I didn't realize that the protest was today i would of put on my uniform(DCU)and went and supported our troops. Don't say you are for the troops and againts the war. You should be FOR THE TROOPS. FOR THE TROOPS. that is it plain and simple but if you marched for the troops the media may not pick up your story and you wouldn't get your sound bite.
ok i am done with my rant. godbless our soldiers, marines sailors and airmen. God keep you and bring you home safe and sound.
i'll buy the first round.

If no one signed up to serve, there would be no troops to fight. Let me be perfectly clear, we MUST support the troops serving as well as the veterans, but how about if no one else signed up?

OLD SCHOOL

"The passion of a dentist's waiting room" what a great phrase. Never again will we see a Democratic Convention type protest, all the boys having fun, a sea of blue helmets, the Chicago Police Departments finest hours, may god in heaven bless the fine officers of that era.

They were not to be trifled with in any way, shape, or form.

When I served in Iraq, I don't remember that many soldiers supporting the war. I remember I had a lot of outdated equipment and orders that read 640 days. ( My orders were up and I was stop lossed back into the army) For those of you that think we need to be there, why is it so hard for you to understand this, BUSH LIED TO US! My father a retired city ironworker and my uncle a Korean War Vet were in attendance protesting.

It was mostly wanna be socialist, communist and libetarian marchers. Everyone thinks they are all democrats so it will look like we have this big divide between democrat and republican. I had a great time.
At one point they started chanting "Bush brought the towers down!" followed by "CPD brought the towers down!" I asked a protester what did she mean by that and she said she didn't know. Should be called a useless march in the media. By they way, were were the democrats? Wasn't their "promise" to America? To get us out of IRAQ?

Make these protesters have an Insurance Policy for any damages or destruction incurred as a result of their protests, before they can get any permits r anything. These types are deadbeats anyway. Professional whiners. Don't do anything for our country themselves except complain about everything. Why don't we pay to fly thm to the streets of Baghdad, to protest there, for some real media impact? Think they'd go with no protection for the US forces, Military, Police, or otherwise?

To the moron who repeated the liberal Dem mantra that "Bush lied to us"

The Russian Security Ser. said they had WMD

The British Security Ser. MI5, said they had WMD.

The Israeli Security Ser. said they had WMD.

The German Security Ser. said they and WMD.

The French Security Ser. said they had WMD.

And finally the CIA said they had WMD.

Did they all lie to you? Poor baby, seems the entire world is conspiring to lie to you.

OLD SCHOOL ADENDUM:
I WAS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL DURING THE 68 CONVENTION. ME AND MY BUDDY WENT DOWN THERE TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. WE CAME UPON A GROUP OF REAL POLICES, SITTING IN CARS AND WHATNOT, SMOKING, DRINKING COFFE, A FAINT WHIFF OF WHISKEY WAS IN THE AIR. AN OLDER TURKEY BIRD SGT. CALLED US OVER, HE ASKED US WHAT WAS OUR BUSINESS, I SAID I WANTED TO SEE THE HIPPIES GET THE SHIT KICKED OF OF EM, THE SARGE SAID"ITLL ALL BE ON TV, GO HOME SON, YOULL GET HURT IF YOU STAY HERE," I ACTUALLY SALUTED HIM, AND HE WAS CORRECT, IT WAS ON TV THAT NIGHT. IM AN ARMY VET A 35 YEAR CPD VET, AND THIS AND THAT, THAT DAY WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST DAYS OF MY LIFE. THE GUY I WAS WITH BECAME A COP TOO, 9 YEARS LATER WE WOULD COMPLETLY DESTROY A PADDY WAGON GOING TO A MAN W/ GUN CALL. I LOVED IT ALL. GOD BLESS BOYS AND GIRLS, AND WACTH OUT FOR HIPPIES. The WMD theory has been discredited. The Iraqi businessman that told Bush they had WMD has been discredited. When the CIA first wrote a report that there were no WMD, Bush sent it back and told them to get with the program and rewrite the report. That last info was reported back in 2004. I read about it while in Baghdad. This is when I became critical of the war. All those countries you named that claimed they had WMD aren't helping us because they don't want to be involved in this farce. I'm glad the Democrats are speaking up and so are the Republicans. Lets focus on bringing the troops home and stop investing all that money we are throwing away on American companies in Iraq. ( By the way millions of dollars of our money is missing over there, Halliburton keeps terrible records) Lets put some of that money in the VA and helping transition the vets when they come home. FYI- Bush has made huge cuts to Veterans benefits and remember Illinois is one of the worst states paying the lowest for vet disability payments.
