Blues Brothers - New York Style

  • NEW YORK - Six police officers were injured in a car chase on the Bronx River Parkway Wednesday morning. The chase ended in an accident – involving three police cruisers – just after 9 a.m. near exit five.
Ouch. We don't think this one would fly past the Traffic Review Board. Anyone else?

Off Topic: Whats up with 011 3rd watch sgts, they are on the air more than the damn dispatchers! Talk about micro-managing....Between them coming up on the air every 30 seconds and the fucking dispatcher that gives everybody an attitude (M.L.) "handle accordingly" "STOP COVERING EACH OTHER!" and the way she says "aight," gives me a fucking headache.

umm, because it's humorous? No cops got killed, it's a sarcastic little poke at the Traffic Review Board, and it's New York. We didn't publish it first - LAPD Rant probably didn't publish it first either - it's everywhere if you look around a bit. Lighten up Francis.

to 12:07 am...i could not agree with you more...m.l thinks shes god and likes to boss us around...she thinks by whining"its past the time limit" we are supposed to give a shit. (m.l.) and to all your other dispatchers,we will handle our jobs when ever we get done....grandma calling on her 16 year old grandson will still be there ,so get off our backs...to the dispatcher supervisors who read this blog.id like to see a day where you come out of your ivory tower at o.e.m.c and work a hot day in the busy districts. i mean you cant even hire calltakers to give us the right information. to my fellow officers in the busy districts,be safe, back each other up,and please remember the most important things of the day is where to get the first cup of coffee, where to go to lunch, and most important back each other up so every one goes home safe. not clearing some "backlog">

The bad news is that is was all female police officers driving. Whats the odds on that? In other news the CTA related that in the short time since Ronald Huberman took over the CTA, there has been a 200 percent increase in male bus drivers being rear ended!

You don't need to know about the Sgt. who went off the deep end. Give the guy a break, it is none of your business. If it were you you would not want your health problems known. And SCC I hope you will have the decency not to publish anything about it.

As one who has been in numerous chases as a driver, passenger, and in crashes as a result of some of them, I can say from real experience that we do not need a chase policy! Some exceptions can be made for violent crimes and police shootings, but on the whole, chasing in a dense urban environment is just plain nuts.

I have done it and fortunately I lived and was never hurt too badly and that was chasing in squad cars and wagons(against dept. policy, of course) that were held together by coat hangers and bubble gum. It would take a lot for me to get in another chase again. I like living too much.

"Hey, is that Commander Ron Sodini parked in fresh cement!!!!!!!"

Yeah swifty, that happened around 2 years ago. He decided to drive around barricades, because he's The Commander! If that was you, your wages would be garnished to pay for the car as well as the cement having to be redone.

AS A WORKING P.O. FROM A WEST SIDE DISTICT, ITS A PRETTY EASY ACCIDENT TO HANDLE, ALLOT PAPER WORK, AND NOTIFICATIONS, BUT I HOPE THE OFFENDER WAS CHARGED WITH FELONY FLEEING AND ELUDING AND IS RIDE WAS IMPOUNDED. I ALSO GLAD NO ONE WAS HURT. ITS SITUATIONS LIKE THIS THAT WHEN THEY HAPPEN YOU NEED GOOD SUPERVISORS WITH COMMON SENSE AND BALLS ,NO NEED FOR SPINLESS POLITICAL HACKS. AND TO MONIQUE BOND, IS IT TRUE THAT YOU SMOKE CRYSTAL METH, INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW,

About the Sgt. who has some issues, who cares. It's none of our business. Only his and nobody else's. Things like this happen on this job all the time in every big city. Maybe everybody who thinks it's a joke should take a look at their own lives and hope he's ok.
