Small Good News Stories

Looks like the Sun Times and WBBM 780 are getting on board with the campaign to report some good news about the police lately. First up, the Sun Times:
  • Chicago Police arrested two men Sunday and seized about 200 marijuana plants from a Northwest Side home equipped with indoor growth lights and a ventilation system.

Acting on a tip, officers searched the three-story home in the 4500 block of North Kasson in the Mayfair neighborhood.

The Tribune also covers the story.

  • A man remained in the Harrison District lockup early Monday after police recovered about 13,725 pairs of counterfeit Nike gym shoes in a South Side store on Saturday.

Police took the man into custody after executing a search warrant at a small retail store at 9040 S. Commercial Ave. on Saturday, according to Harrison District police, who helped obtain the warrant.

Good jobs people.

_14,000_ pairs of shoes? What will be done with them afterwards?

I suggest they be donated to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, who have lots of kids around that need shoes. "Chief Wiggles" (who ran a big toys-for-Iraq drive) would know where to send them.

The bogus logos should be stripped though. Not fair to Nike to ship out cruddy knockoffs with their name on 'em. (The shoes are probably not bad, just way below Nike quality.)

The Chicago Police Department is taking shoe sizes, this is going to be a large part of your upcomung raise. 1 pair of fake nike, you can paint them black, and use them for duty. Research and development presented this to Dep SUP C Williams, as the solution to the lack of morale.

Great, Problem is solved
Now they will all love me

Did the Boston police union fuck up the "Big Dig" tunnel project so they could get all that overtime? Damn, man, that is one hell of an accusation. Do you have any evidence to back this up, are you just falsely accusing police of misconduct?

The last time I saw Lt. Snaglepuss on the news, I believe he was showing off the 2 bundles of pot (actually hay for a christmas manger) that they got on a traffic stop just before Christmas.

You remember correctly Sir Donkey! I remember Lt. P. on the news a few years ago- "Heavens to Mergatroid! This isn't pot, it's a bale of hay! Exit, stage left..."
When he was a Sgt. in 015 his voice over the air used to keep us amused, especially New Years Eve when he was worked up and sounded even more cartoonish.
