Amnesty by Any Other Name
Unbelievable:
- A provision requiring payment of back taxes had been in the initial version of a bill proposed by Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the Massachusetts Democrat. But the administration called for the provision to be removed due to concern that it would be too difficult to figure out which illegal immigrants owed back taxes…
Michael Chertoff - Bush's head of the Department of Homeland Security - says it'd be too difficult to keep track of who owes what back taxes. And this is the Department in charge of making sure 10 million illegals go back to their own country for a year before returning for a visa. And it gets better according to the HotAir site:
- The real reason they stripped it is because they know illegals wouldn’t comply with it, just like many of them aren’t going to comply by paying the $5,000 penalty. Which is why that’ll end up being stripped too.
The Administration is signaling it's complicity in this joke of a bill.

Just to make you aware of another scam being perpetrated against our tax dollars...An individual marries a woman from Mexico (who has been here 20yrs and barely speaks English). She brings her 70yr old mother here. The mother goes through the process to gain citizenship. After she does, she applies for government assistance, even though she has never worked a day in this country. She promtly moves back to Mexico and has her assistance check sent to her daughters home in Chicago. The daughter deposits the check in a bank where the money can be accessed in Mexico.
Our tax dollars at work. The worst part to me is that the American husband is complicit in this. I guess he was tired of his wife making him send a portion of his salary to Mexico as remittances to his mother-in-law, so he went along with the scam

Gee, let's waste millions of tax dollars and countless hours of manpower on new reforms designed to solve an issue that already has laws in place but aren't being enforced.
More/new laws? Let's enforce the old ones and see what happens from there. If not, every criminal out there can use the "seperation" clause from family as a valid defense. Afterall, it's a terrrible hardship to be removed from your family in order to serve out your time for committing a CRIME!!!

Sorry for posting an off topic question in the middle of something else but I don't see any other way of asking here. Does anyone know if the city will come after you for tuition reimbursement if you leave before the 2 years is up? I'm getting close to retirement at 20 years and thinking about getting a masters to prep for another career but won't finish it with 2 years left.

Will even put you on a payment plan, but they do come after you. New safeguards were put into place about 7 years ago after the move to the new hq.

I think the average person may soon have use for an assault rifle if the barrage of illegal immegrants coming into the US isn't stopped, as so many terrorists, and terrorist sympathizers have slipped in, along with the diseased, criminals, drug dealers, MS -13 street gang members, deadbeats, malcontents, moochers, etc, etc; etc. There is no doubt, as our trainers in the terrorism class of the CPD said, that these people will definately strike again, and NOTHING is being done here in Chitcago to protect our children and familys from emminent attacks. What about all these hit and run accidents that are fatal, and the offenders are never caught and charged? Probably because most of the offenders are drunken Illegals, who, when the heat is on, split back to Mexico to hide out. But then again, it's Chit-cago, so, if you, or one of your loved ones gets run over and crippled or killed by one of theses Ass*%l#s, so what, as long as we don't offend any minority group and endanger getting their votes, right City Hall? Why bother telling the truth about it, easier to cover it up and not offend anyone. Hopefully, Patrick Fitz is listening on this one too.

I know of two people that they went after.
One is a retired PO.
The PO tried to fight the tuition fees that the city billed for and lost.
