That's Going to Leave a Mark

  • Police were investigating Saturday the grisly death of a 44-year-old worker who was cut in half by equipment at a Chicago Tribune printing plant.
  • The man apparently was cleaning under an elevator when it descended and he became wedged between the elevator and the conveyor belt that carries newspapers to the building's dock area.

God Rest His Soul.

Here is a lesson I learned from many years of working the projects and talking to elevator repairmen.

DO NOT use a body part, (hand or foot) to stop an elevator door from closing.

If an elevator stops between floors, and the doors open...

DO NOT TRY TO GET OUT OF THE CAR!!

If the elevator car starts to move, there is no way to get your entire body out.

Please keep this in mind and stay safe.

Initial reports stated that this man was a "day laborer"

Is the Trib hiring illegals?

SCC,
You want a blockbuster story? You want to EXPOSE and Publicize a very hidden side of the media?

The Chicago Tribune loves publishing UNTRUTHS and BIASED BLATANT LIES AND HALF-TRUTHS regarding the CPD.

The Chicago Tribune and the Chicago media love hiding embarassing dirty laundry of their own.

Here is a TRUE great blog topic:

How about the 5 Chicago Tribune employees who have died in the last 18 months under bizzare circumstances.

3 senior level executives (VP's) have committed suicide in the last 18 months. All have jumped from the top floor of the Tribune Tower on N. Michigan Ave.

One line worker and one temporary "hype" employee have died at the Chicago Ave. printing and distribution center. Both under hidden and bizzare circumstances. The Chicago Tribune refused to comment publicly on either incident.

Why hasn't this been publicized?

Why did the Chicago Tribune have all the windows and the doors to the roof permanently secured? Are they concerned about more SUICIDES?

What has gone so astray at the Chicago Tribune?

I would love to hear the editorial board attempt to mitigate the damage from a comprehensive blog on this subject. I can assure you there are many reporters who would love to cover this but CAN'T.

Why doesn't the media cover themselves and EXPOSE their own dirt?
