Is the Death Penalty an Option?

  • The Rev. Jesse Jackson was arrested Saturday at a demonstration outside a south suburban gun shop.

Prompted by the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old honor student on a Chicago Transit Authority bus, Jackson and other community activists have held several protests at Chuck's Gun Shop in Riverdale in recent weeks. Jackson says the gun shop's proximity to Chicago provides gang members and criminals easy access to firearms.

At a protest Saturday, Jackson and the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a Catholic priest who oversees a South Side congregation, were arrested when they refused to move away from the gun shop's entrance, police said in a statement. Both were charged with one count of criminal trespass to property.

Now as far as we know and as far as we've heard, none of the guns used to kill Blair Holt or any of the other 30 or so Chicago Public School students was traced to any transactions at Chuck's Gun Shop. If even a single one had been, we're sure the media whores Jackson and Pfleger would have been trumpeting it from the rooftops. That hasn't happened.

And as far as we know, although accusations have been made in the media about Chuck's Gun Shop being a source for illegal firearms, the fact remains that Chuck's Gun Shop hasn't had a license revocation at any governmental level, local, state or Federal.

We'll just bet Chuck's just happens to be the closest gun shop to Jesse's house.

Yea, i saw the 2 phonies getting pinched; then the "stuttering pricks" tirade at some gathering about guns and dealers being the true terrorists and not al queda.
The street Coppers have been trying to rid the streets for years and have been stopped by liberals and their whore media/lawyers.
This could've all been avoided if the Police were allowed to do their jobs over the years.
Coward politics by cowards; so the only thing they can do is disarm everyone. That'll work, cause we were able to stop the flow of drugs into this country......

I do not mean to rain on anyones parade BUT.....

Can we quit we the CPS honor student stuff??

The kid went to Julian...enough said.

Maybe tout his honor status if he went to Young, Payton, Northside, or Brooks.

Being a honor student at any other CPS school is like being the tallest midget in the circus.

Who cares...it is NOT an accomplishment.

Was the gun used traced back to "Chucks"?

Have the REVERENDS held a demonstration in front of the offender's house, and let that bastard's parents parents know what shitheads they are for raising such a piece of shit?

I'm sure the answer is NO for both questions.

The mayor does realize that if he gets the Olympic games, that firearms are part of the competition? Slow and rapid fire pistol, air pistol and rifle.....trap and skeet shooting...he does realize this, doesn't he?

So where will these "EVIL" competitions take place?

Back in 2006, a local pawn shop (Lou's) in my township had their license for selling guns revoked by the Feds.

Philly is right around the corner from me and the guns were easy to get.

Some of the gun purchases from that shop lead to 19 homicides and 65 shootings between 2003 and 2005.

One of those homicides was a 10-year child and another murdered was Philadelphia Police Officer Lauretha Vaird.

A year later, Philadelphia Police Officer Jay Delaney was shot six times and was unable to ever return to work.

THAT is a place that Jackson should have been protesting, not that anyone in Upper Darby or Philadelphia would want him here.

What a great city we live in that the one of the persons chosen to head the new OPS, rev. michael pfleger, has more arrests than 99.9% of all of the police officers that he should over-see. Way to go mayor daley, let the criminals over-see the police. i no longer practice the Catholic religion because of him. he's a piece of shit and Cardinal George doesn't have the balls to get rid of him. My advice to all Officers is to become a dog-ass!! And make as much overtime as you can!!

I loved the part when Jesse was on the news, saying the guns were weapons of mass destruction. The problem is the parents are weapons of mass production, and fail to do any job as a parent. Maybe the two Rev's need to go where the real problem is, the parents. Maybe they need to stop breeding until they can take care of the ones they have. It isn't the guns killing, it is THEIR CHILDREN KILLING each other.
If they want to get rid of the 2nd amendment, maybe we need to get rid of a few others. Take you pick on which amendments we need to change or get rid of!
Let's outlaw guns, as we have done such a great job on ridding the world of drugs (as they have been illegal for years).
The death penalty is only an option if they USE IT. We should be executing hundreds each year. That would solve the problem.

Father Fla key keeps going back to the gun shop looking for a chance to snuff out the owner of the gun shop. There are so many revs on the gun case that they should go to Darfur and help some folks that really need their help.

They will have to have a venue outside the city limits! Maybe wherever they do the horseback riding competition....

All I would like to see in the paper each day is a map of the city and a number where each shooting has occured so far for the year. Sort of like what they do for road construction areas.

The truth would hurt. It's not the guns, its the culture of the urban animal who get their hands on guns "ILLEGALLY".

Why dilly daley wants to punish the law abiding gun owners is beyond me.

If I was John from Chucks gun shop I'd get an order of Protection on all those jokers and have them arrested on sight anywhere around the gun shop or his residence, etc. Fuck those pass the buck clowns, they are just buffoons who can't hold a legit job due to laziness, so they call themselves Reverends. Over 90% of people in the U.S. who own guns are law-abiding citizens, hopefully these 2 will rot in Hell for their bastardization of religion.

Not in this topic but...I want to report the following inconsistency. While in the library we were given a sheet of materials which included a list of 7 scenarios. We were also given a package of materials that were to be used in answering scenario #1. Lastly we were given a white sheet for notes marked notes for scenario #1. I used ten minutes to prepare my answers to scenario #1 and the last ten minutes to list points I wanted to use for scenarios 2-7. Once in the testing room, I viewed scenario #1 and responded. The proctor then collected my notes. I objected stating that my notes for scenarios 2-7, that I had made while in the library were on the sheet. He then produced a yellow sheet marked notes for scenarios 2-7 and said that this is for the rest of the scenarios. I objected and said I had spent half of my alloted time making notes for scenarios 2-7. I further argued that if the City did not want me to make notes on scenarios 2-7 then why did they give me that first sheet of paper with the scenarios listed on them. I requested the proctor call his boss and after reading his instructions the two of them agreed that these notes were meant to be collected after scenario #1. While sitting in the theater , I spoke to several of the other testing sergeants and learned that not everyone's notes were collected after scenario #1. A way to check this now is to open everyone's gray envelope and see who did and didn't take notes on the yellow paper. If the white sheets are checked you can see who made notes in regards to the other scenarios. I believe this to be a major issue as half of my alloted time was spent on taking notes that I could not keep and this procedure was not by any way uniform.

Jackson was actually asked by a reporter for PROOF that Chuck's sold guns used in crimes.

He had... (wait for it!)

NONE!!!

The instruction sheet given to you in the library clearly stated that there would be a 10 second pause between scenario #1 and #2 so that the proctor could collect your note sheet. A seperate sheet of paper would then be provided to you to take notes for scenarios 2-7.

In response to 2:38pm. Amazing. Your a sergeant of police, had the directions read to you, and I'm sure you read along, but you still are going to complain about having your notes taken for 2 through 7. Your the reason the Proctors have to read to us appearently. We were clearly informed that you would be getting another page for notes once scene 1 was complete. I bet you were one of the 30 or so sergeants that had to "go potty" right away, because it's an emergency before the 1030 class. It's no wonder no one respects us anymore.Look at us, crying because we can't follow directions that were read to us, and acting like teenagers who want to make fools of the teacher by all saying "I gotta pee soooo bad". I'm ashamed to be associated with you morons. After what I saw yesterday, I can't get away from you cry babies fast enough.

Yes. Can I bring that up at a hearing? I've never been arrested. You have. I arrest people trying to harm me and take me from my family in the name of the state of Illinois, and you have a major problem with my unquestioned duty?

Father Pflager is NOT chosen to be one of the OPS members.

To clarify:

He is one of three civilians, on a three member panel, who's task is to suggest a replacement candidate to head OPS. This 3 member panel will forward a name to Daley. His highness will PICK the new OPS director.

This is just for clarification.

IT STILL SUCKS THOUGH!

Heres what we should do. More than a few of us that are thinking about buying one of these new guns. The next time jackson and plegher are going to have on of their little snits in front of Chucks, those that are thinking about buying a new gun should put on the uniform and go to Chucks to do a little browsing. Think about it. It would drive the phoney priest and the midget nuts! Here they are having their little demonstration and who walks in to purchase a gun at the very place they have decided to declare evil but more than a few off duty Chicago Police Officers. And what could they do? NOTHING!

Aside from strict enforcement of existing laws, what do thse morons specifically propose? In writing, please.

I submit that if they were specific about their proposals for "gun control", both the Second Amendment and even some rational media would reduce their vague bitching to mere drivel, unworthy of any media coverage.

I want "world peace". However, I haven't the slightest idea how we can attain such a lofty goal.

Abandon the vague rhetoric. Put up (in writing) or shut up, Jackson and Fr. Pflegm.

Thats easy, kill all of the humans, animals, insects, plants, microbes et al and THEN and only then, will you ever have world peace. Everything I listed competes for a limited amount of resources. Just because homo sapien sapien has the ability of reasoning, we automatically assume that we are the problem and therefore can solve it. WRONG. Darwin had it right, the strong will survive....
