Where's the Money?
Two stories, one involving the schools:
- The feds want the Chicago Public Schools to repay at least $16.8 million in federal money earmarked for poor schools because CPS failed to fully staff those schools.
- State education officials have appealed, asking to pay just $1.6 million. They say CPS tried to find applicants but there were few takers.
That money is already spent. Good luck with the feds getting an accurate accounting.

The alderman who took over indicted former Ald. Arenda Troutman's landmarks committee accused her Wednesday of mysteriously draining the panel's budget before she left office in May.
Ald. Anthony Beale (9th) said he was amazed when he became chairman of the Committee on Historical Landmark Preservation to learn only $30,000 was left in the committee's $110,000 budget for 2007

Take the money out of the Police Pension Fund. Pay back the feds with it. Or maybe take one of those duty or uniform checks to pay it.
So what did they spend the money on? They (the chicago public school system) are always crying poor. If they couldn't find applicants who want to deal with chicago's little monsters there should be a surplus of funds available, shouldn't there? Where is the cash?
The really fucked up thing about this "Troutman" is that the taxpayers will probably end up paying for her defense/lawyers

I think everyone is unhappy because Zelitsky came back. He's been back two days and he already is going around the bend again, screaming at coppers in the hallway for no apparent reason. What a fucking stroke this asshole is
Wsa at a meeting yesterday at the "Puzzle Palace" and Sup C. Williams spoke about the SUV's that are to be equipped with "Special equipment" he said that they will be fitted with alarms and carry riot shields,entry equipment ,helmet(s) and eventually rifles...yes rifles...you heard right..it's about time...I would like to see rifles or shotguns in every car and tasers for every officer...even tasers would definately bring down the battery to PO stats...from experience..you just pull the taser out and hold it...9 of 10 times the fight will never start and no injured po's..great tool!! please equip all po's with at least tasers...it's a start

I think the Feds are stupider than City Hall, afterall, the Feds keep giving money to the City, who they know steals it, and uses it for political gain, not for the agreed upon purpose. But the Fed keeps giving it to them. More kickbacks, corrupt Feds maybe? Why aren't City officials held strictly accountable with our Tax Dollars by the Feds?

How long before vehicles are broken into and or stolen? Rifles what kind "daisy" brand? How about just putting shotguns back in all the cars? Cheaper and a great tool to scare the shit out of people when needed!
