Bears Win

All the headlines today will probably be "Hester, Hester, Hester." And all well and good. The guy is electrifying. Every time he touches the ball, the potential for something spectacular is in the air. He broke Gayle Sayers' team record yesterday. He kept the Bears in it.

But if you watch the highlights of the game, there is only one reason the Bears won this game
  • Berrian
The end zone camera in the corner caught his last minute catch perfectly. Grossman threw the ball at least a yard-and-a-half behind Berrian. Berrian changed directions on a wet field that had been giving runners and receivers alike problems all day long and got a perfect grip on the ball while getting his knee down inbounds. Even the slightest mishandling, juggle or bump and that ball is ruled "not in control" and the Bears lose their seventh of the year. Hester kept them in it. Berrian put them in a position to win and somehow made Rex look good.

Rex blows. He's such a pussy. He's afraid of taking a hit. He'll fall 2 yards short of making a first down if it means he goes untouched. He has to stop holding the damn ball with one hand. He has no concept of somebody coming up from behind him to strip the ball. It happens every game. He always throws off his mark too and you can see the aggravation with his receivers.

Berrian had a key drop also...the ONLY reason the bears won this one was because THEY KEPT KICKING TO HESTER...if not for that, it would have been over at the half. Rex is a nice guy, but, maaaan....please! He sucks! And he's in a contract year! So why create a controversy? If you don't like greise, then play orton. Why do I get this sinking feeling that at the end of this year, Smith is going to announce that "we have signed rex grossman to a two year deal....rex grossman is our quarterback"?

You could put a 25 year old Joe Montana and Wlter Payton behind that horrid Offensive line and they would look bad.

That line sucks

Lets not forget the eight perfect passes to three different receivers that should have been caught but were not!

Yesterday's overtime win only delays the inevitable disappointment for another week.

I will agree with you that it was a great catch, but Berrian did not win the game for them.

Granted they overcame some of the worse offensive play calling in recent Bears history, after a turnover - you go for the TD on the first play, Run Turner goes for the blast play, and three yards.

I just think Berrian sucked too much during the course of the game - he was as much as responsible for the interception thrown his way as Grossman was - to praise him in the end. Play a complete game, great endzone caytch and all - play a complete game the whole game. On the interception he has to come back to the ball, it WAS one on one coverage - we teach that in high school!

I'll be glad to see Berrian leave next year, sombody will overpay for this guy, Moose can go to. I'd prefer to see Haas get a shot, and wish Bradley can get out of the dog house.

17 November 2007

This just in:

Police today reported finding a body in Lake Michigan.

The victim apparently drowned due to excessive alcohol consumption.

He was wearing black fishnet stockings, a red garter belt, a strap-on dildo and a Chicago Bears jersey.

He also had a cucumber stuffed up his ass.

The police thoughtfully removed the Cubs jersey to spare the family
unnecessary embarrassment.

Rex threw it, everyone else dropped it. Hard to put any blame on this one being so close on Rex's shoulders. A few more of his passes caught, and the overtime would have been unnecessary. The kid doesn't have a bad arm... but what's up with the recievers?

Maybe the Bears can go after Cleveland's quarterback in the off season.

Although it would be just their luck that the career season he's having this year is just a fluke, and he reverts to playing just like Rex after the Bears sign him.

Get off your couches and forget these TV sports. Go out in the yard with your kids and have some fun. Or just go out for a walk. Why become a fat couch-potato?

Let's look at Ortman. Best winning percentage of all Bear QBs.
