Nice Letter

From the comments (regarding the 011 District armed robbery suspect in the school):
  • This arrest was the direct result of outstanding Police work!

The 11th district along with A/4 Detectives were working a robbery pattern. A subject was observed (most likely about to employ his trade)and was apparently spooked. The offender drove off. Officers attempted to stop the Offender who fled. After a vehicle pursuit the offender fled on foot and ran into Tilton school. Within two minutes there were in excess of 60 officers on the scene, each playing a vital roll. The response included Area Four Gun / mission team, S.W.A.T. officers, K-9, Detectives, 10th and 11th district officers. Within minutes the school was secured and the offender was taken into custody. 11th district officers were able to locate and recover the offenders handgun.

The response and coordination shown by all who were on the scene showed the highest level of professionalism. Due to the dedication of all of the officers who played a part in this incident be it large or small ensured the safety of each other, the students and teachers of Tilton school and the arrest of a violent offender. I attempted to personally thank all of the officers who responded but I am sure many were missed. You have my Gratitude and respect. Thanks for a job well done.

    Lieutenant Dominic Rizzi A/4 RBT
We certainly need to hear more compliments like this from the white shirts and the brass.

Don't know if he was a hunter, especially big game (Deer) I would put the word out to have hunters looking for that damn Blue barrel and also Fishermen along the Illinois and Missisippi.

Double merit !! Get your facts before you open your mouth and let everyone know you are a fool. Dom is one of the brightest persons on this job that I know. I worked with him as an equal and for him as my boss. Fact, he made it on his own as if that really matters. He is a great person and boss who will be behind you 110%. Looks after his people and even goes out of his way to conduct study groups for anyone who wants to attend. Pick on someone who deserves it because when you pick on Dom you really piss me off until I realize you are just a fool.

THE SEISER LETTER

Thursday, 27 September 2007
September 11, 2007

Dana V. Starks

Interim Superintendent

Chicago Police Department

Dear Superintendent Starks:

This letter comes to you to commend 2 police officers under the command of Bruce Rottner in the 24th District for their professionalism and good judgment. The officers that I am speaking of are Michael Seiser and James Muzupappa.

There was an incident, actually two incidents that took place at Loyola Beach and Park on Labor Day. My daughter, Dana and I were enjoying a day at the beach when an inebriated man approached us. Despite our efforts to ignore him he lingered around us all the while making sexual innuendos. He then moved to another place in the sand to bother a lone woman reading in her beach chair. She ignored him the best she could until she saw that his pants were down and he was exposing himself to not only her but 2 young girls playing near by. At this time my daughter and I got up to leave when we saw and heard the woman yell out that this man was exposing himself. I immediately went to her side then called the police then ran to tell the lifeguard. The man was clearly "out of it" and was escorted off the beach by about 10 lifeguards and mates, the woman, myself, and my daughter. We made it through the park to the Circle Planters where all of the other riff raff hang out.

At that time the police arrived. We were filling out a report to press charges and agreed to go to court. When this was happening, I explained to the police officer that the area (Circle Planters) is over run with this pack of drug dealing, drunks who do nothing but harass, loiter, litter and generally break the law and make it uneasy for those of us who live in the area. The officer looked over and saw what he thought might be someone drinking so he went over to inquire.

Next thing I knew he and the suspected drinker were in a physical altercation. Words were hollered out by the suspect. He threw his drink (can of beer) at the police officer. I immediately told the officer who was filling out the report that his partner needed reinforcement. A chase ensued through the alley and around the block.

Long story short more police arrived on the scene and they caught the guy.

The officers came back to finish the report on the initial arrest and to take our information as witnesses to this second situation. Honestly, while watching this second incident "go down" it might have been easy for the officer to pull his gun. Actually I thought that might happen next and I was about to run and take cover. But he did not. There were many people around and that could have been very tragic.

The suspect reached into his pocket and who knows what he might have been pulling out? As it turns out it was his beer can, but none the less, the officer used good judgment by quickly scanning the scene only to see that there were many people around and it would not have been a wise decision to do so.

My gratitude goes out to Officer Seiser and Officer Muzupappa #3175 for helping to take care and bring awareness to a situation that has needed attention for quite some time now.

Later that evening we were asked by Detective Perry to come in to the 24th District Police Station to give a statement to him and the Assistant States Attorney, which we did. Might I add that we were treated with the utmost professionalism and respect by all.

In closing, I have to say after witnessing it first hand that all police officers take their lives in their hands to uphold the law and protect the public but I am grateful that it was Officer Seiser and Officer Muzupappa who arrived on the scene. My daughter Dana, myself and the other witness will be going court on October 4 for the first incident of drunk and disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.

I will await the court hearing for the second, more serious crime.

Sincerely,

Liz Sarnik

Chicago, IL

cc: Commander Bruce Rottner 24th District

From what I read the guy was unarmed in the school because he threw his gun onto the roof and he never actually committed a crime other than the UUW because they fucked up the surveillance and he realized he was being watched. Please don't boast about this nonsense. Some police work was done but don't try to make yourselves out to be anything other than a bunch of lucky people that he decided not to shoot anybody and that was his decision, not yours!!!

Hey SCC, you just showed the world why white shirts won't post. I doubt you will ever see anyone sign a post again. Most of the negative I read seems to be from people who obviously were not on the scene. I wasn't there but saw the arrest report. The guy was charged in 11 robberies with 16 charges. I also heard that was the 3rd day on surveillance. At least there are some P.O.'s out there willing to work, unlike the losers who post mis-information just to be rotten MF's.

The issue here isn't whether I or anybody else was writing parking tickets or not....the issue is that 011 and Area 4 are a bunch of boasting self-promoting pukes. They need to go look at some of the southside districts that are far busier than 011. Maybe realize that Area 4 has one busy district (011) and another kinda' busy district (010) but other than that they have 012 which is dead and 013 which is also dead. They need to realize that 003, 004, 005, 006, 007 and maybe any other southside district would make them look quiet on any given 24 hour period. The only people who believe their bullshit is themselves. When was the last time anybody heard a copper from 003 or 004 boasting about how good they are?? When was the last time you heard Area 2 detectives boasting?? They don't have time for that bullshit!! All we ever hear is Area 4 rocks and 011 is the greatest and John Farrell is a prince etc. etc. ad infinitum. Get a life kids...we all do the same job out there and we are all just as good as these big-mouths who feel that they have to tell the rest of us how good they are.

Chase enters school as suspect flees police

November 28, 2007
BY KATE N. GROSSMAN Education Reporter kgrossman@suntimes.com
A Chicago teacher got the surprise of her life Tuesday morning when an armed robbery suspect fleeing police sprinted past her and her 19 preschoolers as she dismissed them from Tilton Elementary. He ran through a door open for dismissal and into the school, Chicago Public School officials said.

Police were right behind the man, and he was apprehended almost immediately. The man was in the building less than two minutes, and apparently no other students saw him, said police spokesman Marcel Bright. No one was injured at the school, 223 N. Keeler.

Tilton was locked down between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. while police searched the building for weapons, said CPS spokesman Mike Vaughn.

Nothing was found. Police did recover a weapon two blocks from the school, Tilton's principal said.
Police were interviewing the man Tuesday. No charges had been filed. The robbery didn't occur Tuesday, but police spotted the suspect Tuesday and pursued him on foot, Bright said.

Is this the same story??....because without the boasting, it doesn't seem all that big a deal!! Oh yeah...the press got it all wrong I suppose!

It might even be you, but 011 was a great place at one time where south siders/north siders all got along and backed each other up. End of story (for now)!!
