Delayed Statistic
- A 24-year-old man died Friday, almost eight months after he and three other people were shot at a party on the West Side in May.
- Police said the shooter entered a party in the 4600 block of West Huron about 2:40 a.m. on May 5 and shot four people.
So without anything happening anywhere else, Fillmore picks up an additional homicide from seven-and-a-half months ago.
Does he go in the May column or the December column? Detectives?

get the credit/homicide.

I heard the family of the slain tiger has aquired Levy and Assoc. to sue the officers for wrong full deaf.

It will be carried as a death investigation pending further investigation.
If the offender is apprehended and the SAO approves charges it will be reclassified to homicide/murder othewise it will remain a death investigation.
Let us hope the FEDS investigate CPD for "killing crime" and put Fat Phil and Maher in orange jump suits.

Injury date in May, death date in December. This one gets reclassified to homicide after the death,and goes in December's count for homicides. The district of occurrence of the original incident gets the counter. This happens more often than you realize. A lot of these deaths result from sepsis caused by the gunshot wounds. The medical examiner classifies the death as a homicide and we have to eat it.
Alot of Mexicans are living on that block now..... was he black or hispanic? Just curious.

Multiple people shot in this incident. One died the evening the incident occurred. Still a homicide, but now a DOUBLE homicide under same R.D. It will count as a December 2007 homicide for 011-delayed fatal.
For purposes of crime statistics, the incident happended in May as an Aggravated Battery but will now be re-classified as a Homicide.
Good job it is being re-classified now because if he had died next week it would have caused all kinds of major issues and the usual fights about when it occurred and where.
Let's face it guys....who gives a rat's ass about the crime stats and the UCR....all that really matters is the Detective Division's Annual Citywide Ghoul Pool. Did you get your ticket yet??
Six family members were found shot to death in a house near rural Carnation, Washington, about 20 miles east of Seattle.

almost choked on my coffee imagining Cline aka "Cap'n Crunch" being led to the early bus to county in cuffs and a custom made paper jumpsuit.
Also, whoever the idiot was that sponsored Soto-Maher for a scholarship as chief of detectives needs to chased and beaten with golf balls in a gym-sock... talk about in over your head! Smart as a box of wet rocks...
