That Didn't Take Long

  • An off-duty Chicago police officer working security at a public high school shot and wounded a young man Tuesday morning near a South Side train station.
  • It ended when the juvenile was shot at the CTA station at 300 E. 43rd St., according to Rosenzweig. The youth was taken to a nearby hospital and a gun was recovered at the scene, Rozenzweig said.
Anyone figure that they were under pressure by someone political to at least state that a gun was recovered? Otherwise, the only people speaking are the ones with an ax to grind. Can the return of Skeletor and the Orange One be far behind?

By the way, the copper is fine and the offender is expected to make a full recovery, be charged, and spend zero time behind bars so he can go out, illegally acquire another handgun, fail to register it, never qualify with it and then wreak mayhem across the city streets once again. Thank goodness for all these gun laws!

Read the one quote where it said there was a gun recovered but we are not sure how it got there and we are investigating that. WTF now this IPRA bitch is accusing police of planting guns inadvertently.

The offender fled the scene, was then chased down and shot. Sounds like a good lawsuit coming..

You forgot to add that he'll more than likely get a six figure payout from the City too...ridiculous!

I'm still taking a wait and see attitude.

I beleive board of ed security may have been giving statements to the media. So IPRA may, and I say may, have been countering that.

Stating that a gun was recovered puts the play-revs in check, before they can put their spin out.

However, there was a line that was not needed. IPRA said that they had to determine how the gun got there. Make the determination first.

I feel a two day suspension for the offender is coming.
For not checking his pistol at the door before going to school and cutting class.

Not to talk bad about the officer involved, but WHAT THE FUCK, the officer is working off duty as security at a school, the offender comes in a with pistol, get stopped then runs out of the school..you think it would be over? No.

The officer chases the offender a half of a mile, catches up to him then the offender goes for his gun and get shot by the officer.

My question is, once he is out of the school, the officer prevented him from getting in with the gun (great job) why chase him and put yourself in harms way (physically and legally) for a off duty job. Why?

This rozenzweig was at roll call in 008 on 3rd watch a few days ago. Overall she really didnt seem like a bad person, but I dont think she has a clue what she has in store for her. She will be praying for sunny california soon enough. that being said, i didnt expect her to come to roll call with 40 something coppers and start shit. Just another Daley puppet??? or prove me wrong! But she honestly did say a few decent things, now its a matter of following through. Which as any good chicagoan knows is a completely different story

The bestest one I ever saw was down in New Orleans a few years ago when mama claimed the polices planted a brand new Glock on her dead son, who was kilt by gang bangers. It fell off his body at the morgue.

Why? because he's obviously a policeman, that's why. Because he knew if he didn't take action some other copper might have too and may not end up on the winning side like he did. He showed what separates us from the rest of the world..

Wrong!

The following is from chicagotribune.com

..."About 8:30 a.m., the teen, a student suspended from Phillips High School Academy, 244 E. Pershing Rd., went through a metal detector at the school and triggered an alarm, said Mike Vaughn, a spokesman for Chicago Public Schools. A security officer at the school patted down the youth and discovered a gun, Vaughn said.

The boy fled, and that officer and the off-duty officer, who also works security at the school, chased the boy, who still had the gun, Vaughn said."...

I'm sorry, you guys are all wrong!!! Gun laws state that a person must be 21 to posses a handgun so this gun couldn't have belong to this poor juvenile. The law is the law and that's why we keep making more and more of them isn't it?

The officer chose to "do his job" and catch a UUW offender. You know the question is going to come up...officer even though you thought the offender had a weapon but did you see it before you started chasing him, officer answer_________,

Then officer what about you duties at the school and why did you neglect them when you left the building, and couldn't you have called the police and gave a name & description of the offender before you decided to chase then gun down my client?

Not saying that is going to happen, but what a can of worms he might have opened up for himself. The city just paid out a tidy bit of money to the family of a person shot dead by the police on another off duty incident, where the officer himself was being robbed.

In this climate, is it worth it?

Hey asswipe, I'll type this slowly so that you could try to understand....the officer prevented him from getting in the school with the gun"

And to add, the officer knew who the kid was before the kid took off running.

That 003rd District copper did everything right...it's a righteous shooting! Asshole stopped from entering the school with a loaded gun, gun recovered, asshole will live! If any monies are paid out, that's on the Corp. Counsels, not AD! The teen asshole also has a previous CONVICTION for uuw, he's fortunate to have survived. Hopefully, he's had a wake up call to clean up his act, but I doubt it.
