fop came to tru today and got shitted on. were called out and told the only reason they are coming around is because of elections. I believe f.d. was asked why he was talking and not donahue " what are you his mouth piece" and donahue pretty much admitted he did not like ten or twelve our days so that's why he was not pushing for them now I did not hear this (walked away to change) but appearantly certain parts of the contract have been agreed on and 10 or 12 hr days will not happen

So because a man who sits inside all day and works M-F(FOP Pres) is not a fan or 10 or 12 hour days than that means the rest of us get screwed! What a bunch of bullshit. How typical for Chicago!
I agree with an earlier post that this is disrespectful to our leaders. We always have to respect the rank even though you may not respect the person. BUT! If you can't have a sense of humor about yourself than you are weak and lack the qualities to be a great leader, so do what you must, thx for the laugh.

J-Fed has been seen wearing the Chicago Police Uniform at the recruit graduation and honored star ceremonies. If you remember, J-Fed proposed to wear a police uniform for special occasions and ceremonies. According the Illinois Complied Statues Chapter 50: Police, Fire, and Emergency Services Acts: 705 - 735. J-Fed has not completed ANY of the mandated requirements for certification as a police officer for the State of Illinois. The luxury of being sworn in as Superintendent of the Police by City ordinance does not preclude his State obligation. J-Fed is impersonating a police officer while wearing the uniform! Typical of a fed to try to be the “police” and a sneaking round-about-way.
It is doubtful that any police officer will have the balls to arrest YOU while wearing the uniform or for displaying the FOP sticker on YOUR vehicle. If we are lucky one of our suburban or State friends might spot YOU working the streets and hopefully “do the right thing” and oblige us with the favor!
YES here we go again! The question is how can J-Fed be our leader if he intentionally violates the law and disrespects our uniform? How can he hold us to any ethical standard while he consistently demonstrates deception and contempt? Recommendation stop wearing our uniform! As Da Mayor would put its just silly...silly...silly...etc! In all sincerity sir we had hoped and prayed that you might have delivered us from evil unfortunately that ain’t going to happen.
To those open-minded non-believers:
Why wear the uniform? He wants to identify with the younger guys on the street. Here...see me I am cool just like you. I care about you and feel your pain! I am going to watch your back! More corporate marketing bull shit! FBI is all about image no substance. Da Mayor is responsible for the state of the Police Department he won’t admit it but he is! The only difference between J-Fed and Da Mayor is that Da Mayor ain’t ever going to be caught wearing our uniform and I know we can all bank on it!
The community should you be reading this. Beware! When J-Fed will comes to your meetings, he will listen attentively, maybe act superficially, just to make you feel better while venting. Will anything happen to satisfy? Maybe? Don’t count on it. The police can’t be everywhere all the time. Truly, you would be better off if you could legally carry a handgun for personal protection. As an open-minded police officer, if citizens were allowed to carry a conceal handgun here in Chicago crime would dramatically decrease and participation will increase at CAPS Meetings why? Because the police could provide background checks, issue permits and raffle handguns paid for by Allstate funds. The lines will run out the door and around the block.
Lawsuits against police would decrease since most criminals would flee the City to softer surroundings in the burbs. We need a referendum on this? What do you say? Let’s get it on lock and load!

Who cares? There are numerous example of impersonators wearing the uniform. Look at 35th street. officers that have not worked the street since academy. Out of shape, slobs that would steal your first born. Take home cars for do nothings. Worry more about conditions on the street and his actions. The uniform is symbolic and he is our leader. Do not cite laws, you sound foolish. There are numerous exemptions through the state training board. Really, son, get a life!

The only time that a dic ever wants to reveal his identity as the police is in a restaurant. Put the radios on the table with the volume up and make sure that the waitress sees the gun and star. That police discount is critical.

In response to your reply. I do care. I care for my family, country, and neighbors. I confess to you sir that I love this City and I have made several mistakes in my life but the biggest sin I’ve committed and most of us here in Chicago have as well is that we recklessly take for granted the power given to us and that is the right to vote and run for election! That human spirit to run for election and to try to win! I have voted! But, I have not become a force to be reckoned with! And now I am paying for that sin. All of us are paying for this sin and many are still blind.
I was blind and now I can see. I can see a path clearly that leads to City Hall. He who holds the power to change for good or evil needs to be in a position of power. Beware that power corrupts and so limiting power shortens the temptations of those who may act evilly. Mayor Daley and many alderman have been in power much too long and have taken us for granted. We can only blame ourselves for our passive ignorance. Two terms is enough for anyone to serve government before they turn and selflessly serve themselves.
Although an imperfect love, police work is most gratifying and I already have more than once risked my life to save another. Sir your wrong! There is only one police impersonator wearing the uniform at headquarters and he is not our leader. He had an opportunity to be a leader and to prove himself independent of this malignant corruption at City Hall and now he’s disgraces himself by showing us his true nature. Even now he is planning who knows? Do you think he can change anything? Change the past or correct the future? I can no longer stop you from being blind and stupid to your burden as trying to stop the Sun from shining.
I hold no malice or jealousy to any of my brethren who legally earned the right to wear the uniform and who work at the academy, headquarters, Homan Square or any area of this city, state or country. Opportunities & choices and then someone has to do the work. I wish them well and respect what they do. We all can’t be famous. Life would be boring if everyone was exacting the same and all things equal.
The uniform is symbolic and the Supt is not our leader as he demonstrates that he is Daley’s lower appendage that is about to be inserted into our community. If you haven’t noticed most of our City’s finest are not in the best of shape. The youngest ones maybe! But, as the years go by life will change there shapes as well. It will be natural and very human. They are not slobs and I don’t fear them stealing my first born. And sir the day may come when one of those slobs that you profess may save your life or someone you love. I will continue to cite the law and testify in the court of public opinion to that what I believe is the truth. I am not foolish. I only wish to point out the foolishness of the folly that we are being spoon feed.
I don’t worry or fear the Supt or the Mayor. I will protect myself from their revenge and ignorance. I am not your son and your not my father. And you obviously are not the police!
