Hmmm. What's This?

  • A top level authority on police attitudes told “The Chicago Daily Observer” yesterday that “there’s a good chance that murders are rising in Chicago because police are demoralized and intensely dissatisfied with conditions at the very top of the department. That doesn’t mean they’re lying down on the enforcement job, but what’s the point of pursuing a rigorous enforcement and deterrence when the department is in the hands of the civil libertarians—and punitive penalties are meted out against officers for doing their jobs effectively?”

He said that Jody Weis’ appointment…an FBI agent who never wore a uniform nor patrolled a beat…signaled a mayoral disapproval of the department that is ruining morale. He contrasted this with the record of New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who stood by his department and beat off civil libertarians who tried to super-enforce infractions that hobbled the New York police.

The article appears in the Chicago Daily Observer. The author touches on a bunch of stuff that's been appearing in the comments for months now. We will remind people that even speaking in support of a job action such as described in this article is grounds for termination. Be careful who you voice your opinions to.

A very interesting read nonetheless.

As a somewhat high-ranking member of the Department, I couldn't agree with this article more.

One thing blue shirts must understand, believe it or not, is that we supervisors do not like the way this Department is headed. The mayor is and has been both ungrateful and unsupportive of the Department as a whole. He has shown on many occasions that he will not hesitate to throw any one of us under the proverbial bus, should it be politically expedient to do so.

Please know that the vast majority of us remember what it's like to get into a squad car on a daily basis. We know how it feels to devote yourself to an ungrateful public.

In my time on the job, I've seen far too many good officers undeservedly fired, indicted and sent to prison. I would hate to see any others follow this path due to an overzelous, unforgiving Superintendent. Thus, while I would never support a job action or work slow-down, I cannot in good faith ask officers to be proactive or aggressive in these troubled times.

DONT FORGET RELEASE DEPARTMENT STATS ARE AGAINST THE RULES ALSO!

OR RUNNING A NAME

OR NOT FILLING OUT A CONTACT CARD ON A TRAFFIC STOP.

OR NOT WRITING A CASE REPORT ABOUT SHOTS FIRED.

DRINKING ON THE PUBLIC WAY.

TAKING A DISCOUNT.

SWEARING AT YOUR DUMB ASS NEIGHBOR.

SWATTING A GUY IN A WHEEL CHAIR 4 BEING A PRICK.

WEARING YOUR BLUE TOOTH!!!

NOT QUALIFYING WITH ALL 10 OF YOUR GUNS.

NOT PAYING YOUR WATER BILL OR PARKING TICKETS.

HAVING TINT ON YOUR PIMPED OUT RIDE.

OWNING A BAR.

CALLING IN SICK AND THEN GOING TO GREAT AMERICA.

HANGING OUT WITH YOUR MAFIA BUDDIES FROM BRIDGEPORT.

NOT MAILING YOUR ETHIC FORM.

AND YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT A work slow down.... like the lawer in court sezzzz prove im slowing down.

IF THE DEPARTMENT WANT TO HANG YOU DONT THINK THEY CANT.

I love it "SUPER ENFORCED" J Fed is going to cost this city MILLIONS at the end of the day by unjustly firing coppers.... He thinks like a fed... If a feebie gets caught "lying" (i.e., cannot prove he was telling the truth) they fire him, no questions asked, move on... NO UNION! We can bitch and moan all we want about the FOP but the FOP will be what costs J Fuck his job. This is not a do as I say job... Anyways, the truth is crime is up because the police are on strike. I enjoy my paycheck too much to risk it for a community in which I do not live. The oath means nothing anymore. We are expected to be better than most when it comes to behavior, yet when I park my squad in a tow zone to eat dinner I am expected to follow the same rules as Joe citizen. If I am expected to follow the same rules as Joe citizen I should get the same punishments as Joe citizen. Point being, this job SUCKS!

How about this...

I work on a tact team... I dont think Im better than the guys on the watch so please refrain from the comments, hair gel, you too will get tact some day... I just need to vent...

My Sgt is a crusty fuck... He is scared of his own shadow... he is a mistaken merit Sgt that doesnt know the sum of 2 + 2...

He never backs his guys and as a matter of fact plays the side of the crazy Lieutenant over his own guys...

There is an old Greek saying that translates into something like "always for the other guy". And it fits this moron like a tight fitting MGD jacket!

He has been over heard first hand telling other tact/gang Sgts to go home as his guys would cover the radio time after time after time... even when it is his teams Friday he cuts the team that just got back after a weekend. After a detail, another teams Sgt was overheard FIRST HAND AGAIN telling him "its a detail, we can go" and his response... "ugh ugh ugh (inaudible noise) go ahead we can take the radio jobs" UNREAL!!!

He has ZERO communication skills, and even less supervisor skills and in fact dimes out his own guys to make himself look better. He gives conflicting orders on a daily basis, and as a PO you pick one and hope the Alzheimers/dementia remembers the one you picked.

He never rewards good behavior, yet harps on the "bad" (not taking paper jobs cuz the crazy lou's head is spinning) all day long.

Roll call is attended by some who are on time (his team) and many who stroll in whenever they want to (69 team) aka "other".

At the end of the day, after a rude letter by the Lt, compliance by the crusty Sgts team, and blatant ignoring by the other team, the "other" team STILL is gone an hour before we are. AND THAT HAPPENED 4 DAYS IN A ROW THIS WEEK ALONE!

It gets pretty fucking old. And yet, the Sgt continues to want numbers. Well, Ill be god damned if I risk my hefty paycheck for an imbecile like you, O'Crusty one! It is number demands that breed dirty cops! It is number demands that breed civil right violations! It is number demands that are the black eye of this department! So I am officially on a work stoppage, and until the love is either stopped all together, or spread around, you get NOTHING!

And shame on the other Sgts for taking advantage of this guy... It's as bad as picking on the guy in the wheel chair! It really is that bad!

I know gone are the days of good pinch, take the week off, but COME ON! Apparently gone are the days of get a pistol take the rest of the day! (atleast according to this fucking idiot!)

Im know there are bad Sgts out there, but this guy really will get a good PO fired. Not by ill intent like some, but out of sheer ignorance... He thinks "doing away with a CR" means giving the complainant the number to OPS!

Im sure anyone who works under this IDIOT will know exactly who this post is about.

Mandatory retirement is there for a reason, only 6 more furloughs to go!

Man Goes Crazy In Loop Punching People, Channel 7 Anchor Cheryl Burton Is Injured

A man randomly attacked at least four people, including ABC 7 news anchor Cheryl Burton, while they walked down the street in the Loop Wednesday evening, Chicago police said.

The man in his late 20s punched the people, three of whom were in their 70s, as he ran down Washington Street near Dearborn Street, said Police Officer David Banks.

Police, with the help of witnesses and a security guard, tracked down the suspect and took him into custody. He may be sent to a mental health facility, Banks said.

Anybody have the scoop on the offender? Race/Age and Criminal Background?

The only thing I find interesting about this read is that the chairman of the editorial board, Thomas F. Roeser, fails to identify his (one) source, calling him (or her) a "top level authority on police attitudes." What the heck does that mean? Good grief, the author could be quoting Fat Phil or Michael Jordan for that matter. If the source is a P.O., Roeser could have just said so while protecting his anonymity. Even if the P.O. refused that scenario, Roeser lost the opportunity for anyone to take him seriously when he pulled out that "top-level authority" phrase. As it is, the piece sounds like the kind of unsubstantiated trash that Michael Sneed writes, the kind of stuff that emanates from her opinionated sources. My guess is that the source is a disgruntled mid-level member of the command staff who is saddled with a modicum of smarts and originality. This piece has no credibility. There is no corroboration, nothing to make us believe the source is an expert about anything. Get a grip, SCC. You missed this one. This piece of journalism was 8th-grade garbage, even though all the P.O's who agree with it will be checking in to sing it's praises.

12 HOUR SHIFTS AND NO TIME DUE ON WEEKENDS?

THERE IS A GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT SUPT. JODY WEIS MAY USE THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE IN OUR CONTRACT TO CALL FOR 12 HR. SHIFTS AND NO TIME DUE ON WEEKENDS TILL FURTHER NOTICE.

The recent spike in murders and shootings in the black inner city areas will allow the black community members as well as the store front preachers to have the ammo they were waiting for to attack the selection of a white male for the top spot in CPD. Watch, I predict an outcry about the violence and demands for more police. Since we are limited to the number of actual patrol officers we have, the only way to increase the numbers of officers on the street is to have the officers we have work longer hours. This is just a guess on my part but odds are it will happen. So much for spending time at the summer out-of-state cottage this summer! But the good news is let the overtime roll!

2. They throw their Officers under the bus for being aggressive.

Jodie, please define exactly what you mean when you tell your Officers to be "aggressive."

Some Officers may interpret 'aggressive' to mean something you don't mean.

In all fairness to the Officers:

Tell us exactly what you expect an aggressive Officer to do.

The article was excellent!!!!! Thank You SCC for the link. The more interesting thing was the comments below. It is very clear from the comments that there is no reason to do any proactive police work.

The citizens in this country watch to mutch TV. They think you don't have to break any eggs to get an omlette. Citizens do not understand the difference between getting gangbangers off the corner or just breaking up groups of shitheads on the sidewalk to just walking up to a random citizen and pimpslapping them and taking their wallet.

Until the citizens wake up and I'm talking about the silent majority, this city has no chance. The citizens need to stand up for the police. The pimps (politicians) never will.

the police are not he reason for increased murders.
it is accepted behavior.
it is only when the police shoot someone, or a cougar, that there is a public outcry.
You can never get a witness to a murder, but if the police shoot someone, everyone saw it and then lie about what they saw.
What about the judges. What about the juries? Love jury trials. Its great to see jury members who refuse to listen to the witnesses or evidence. Find them all not guilty. What deters offenders from commiting murder. It is not the police. The police are out there, arresting these thugs, getting hurt and puting their lives on the line. It is not the police. Maybe a little less hatered preached by ministers on sunday will have some positive changes. that would be a start. Be safe

To 12:28 am., Mr. Tact person,

We all know how tact works, and no, everyone will not get a chance to get on the "elite" tact team, so if your Sgt. sucks that bad, there is plenty of room for you on a watch riding a beat car, like everyone else in patrol.

He's not gonna change, and apparently somebody likes what he is doing and is keeping him there .

Maybe you need a new district or a change of scenery. Tact guys always bitch the most. Try working 8 hours a day buddy-boy. You guys are always taking a duck to leave early.

Sorry, no pity here!

Well TRU has done it again. They were in a restaurant in my district for just over 2 hours. I am not kidding you. The place is on my beat and went by it several times. Good to hear there's no crime in this city for this "elite" squad to go out and find.
Start at 6, get on street at 7-7:30, eat from 7:45-10, get an anov, then leave early at midnight. Pretty sweet schedule.

Again, I'm not in TRU...but if you think its a sweet gig, then bid there. Otherwise quit driving in circles and checking up on other officers. Thats for their Sergeant to worry about, not you! THATS THE PROBLEM. EVERYONE IS WORRIED WHAT SOMEONE ELSE IS DOING. You dont like your Unit, bid to a new one. Otherwise... SHUT UP!

When I see him in that CPD Leather Jacket, its like fingernails on a blackboard.
The CPD Leather was from a different era. One he was never part of.
Does he what a CPD Leather, so he can display it like a trophy, when he leaves the dept?
Those Leather Jackets meant a lot to the Men and Women who wore them, in a different era, and a different time.

"Whos gunna get the blame? Who always does? We are expendable and scapegoats. They arent going to be kissing our asses to end this. They are going to look to make us take the fall."

It sounds like you've got a whopping two years on this job and you're still idealistic about fighting crime. The vast majority of the people on this job just don't give a damn anymore. You can thank the media, the reverends and the liberal elite like Obama for forcing their unrealistic, idealistic pie-in-the-sky expectations on what used to be the BEST police department in the country.

We're not robots, but that's what everybody wants us to be.... unless, of course, THEY are the one's who get caught breaking the law. But when you think of the thousands of service calls we answer on a daily basis, we still do a damned good job.

Much of the problem is that we've become a nation of excuses for bad behavior. I remember when a rapist would get 30 to 40 years in prison for a single rape. Now, they get probation. Even the average murderer serves only 9 years in prison before getting out on parole. Unbelievable, but it's true.

So what's our motivation???

The 1st and the 16th, that's about all we got left.

The only way things could even begin to improve is if we get some backing from our bosses and city hall. But I doubt that will happen because politicians are too afraid of losing some of the black vote, or the gay vote, or some other specific group of voters.

And remember, shit rolls downhill. That's why the bosses don't back us anymore. They're afraid of getting fired and sued, too. This entire mess stems from an overzealous media that's been desperate to sell newspapers and TV commercial time. Demonizing the police helped to keep them afloat for awhile by selling newspapers with sensationalized headlines.

I'm sure ALL of us would be happy to be the aggressive, hard-working coppers we really are, but who can afford to risk their job, their home and jail time if they make the slightest mistake?

But now that things have settled down with our "scandals" the newspapers are laying people off and profits are in the toilet. Has anybody noticed how much the Slum Times has shrunk in size? It's like a magazine now.

But they got the police department they wanted. No pro-active policing means no CR#'s, no accusations of violationing people's rights and no civil lawsuits.

Unfortunately, it also means the people of Chicago are less safe because the gun-toting criminals that the elitist liberals and the media sought to protect the rights of are now having a field day.

what has happened to this department like others has been a work in motion for quite a few many years now. the blood of these dead people is on the hands of all who have taken the teeth out of the police department and have given the streets to the shit heads.

people like the reverends who get their certification from a computer class and father pfleiger types and the media are all somewhat responsible for the deaths of people murdered this past week, month and year.

you dont want an agressive police force that will go out and deter crime you have created it. you monday morning q back us and are quick to fire , indict, and re indict while shit heads can make all the non sense up and we as police have to prove ourselves innocent.

its a shame what has happened over the last several years and whats even worse unless the mayor and the union show the public and the media that they stand behind their police department i do not see it improving. just more and more blood shed. mark my words this summer is going to be one of the worst this city has seen in quite sometime.

seat belt missions at scenes where shitbags are murdered wont change a thing. give the streets back to the police who in turn give it back to our good citizens and our kids because if you dont and dont back us its just going to get worse.

shame on you media and all the rest of the idiots who created this mess, the blood is running wet and fluidly on your hands.

One comment, from the article you quoted and linked, which I think is worth posting here:

"Seven says:

When is the last time we saw an article or news story about an attorney, a CPA, a truck driver who went out after work and got into a bar fight or got a DUI.

Those stories have no teeth & they don't sell newspapers.

But if a cop does any of those things - front page news!

I understand police officers are supposed to be held to a higher standard and that's alright but enough is enough with the bashing they are taking in the media.

Police-men and police-women are just that - men and women. They make mistakes like everybody else. They don't deserve any special care but why is it that if a cop gets in trouble the state's attorney's office goes all out for a conviction and jail time but if a regular guy does the same thing - it is likely thrown out or he gets probation.

I've studied law enough to know there is one ILCS (Illinois Compiled Stautes) book. There isn't one for the police, one for the gangbangers and one for the offender who commits a crime against a victim worse than him. These are all examples of how the Cook County courts filter these cases.

Do you know that in a gang related shooting arrest the first thing the states attorney asks for is a copy of the VICTIM"S criminal history?

Why does that matter?

The double standards in the Cook County courts have to stop. If these gang members knew they would be going to jail if caught, they would think twice. The truth is though, they don't care because they know the system is a joke. God forbid though if a police officer makes a mistake in the performance of his duties - HANG HIM!

For anyone reading this who isn't the police:

Try working eight hours having to make split second decisions without any help. And if you're wrong, it's probably more serious than a paper jam in the copier.

People may be killed or seriously injured as a result of their decisions - right or wrong.

Remember that, when the most stressful part of your 8 hour day is finding where to eat lunch.

Police Officers need the support of the departments they work for and they need the support of the people they protect. Without both of those things in place they cannot be effective and they will not do more than is minimally required of them.

This will be a long, hot and deadly summer if things don't change soon. But I've lived in Chicago my whole life and I know it's only going to get worse.

Maybe when people start taking responsibility for their own actions and the actions of their children and stop blaming everyone else - then we'll see some real change. I could go on for hours but what's the point..........

The thing about the feds is that they do it by the book. They will pull every dirty trick in the book, but it's by the book.

The other thing about the feds is that they are great at getting headlines, but they suck at controlling crime. The huge majority of law enforcement in this country is done by state and municipal officers, not feds.

Phonying up reports? It will get you indicted. Drop cases? Not long for this world. And so on. . .

To protect yourselves, your jobs and your families, do it by the book now.

Yes, the crime rate will spike. But that's not your fault. The City has let you cut corners because it saves them a lot of money. Doing it by the book is very expensive. Let the blame fall where it belongs, on the City, and taxpayers (that's me.)

If you want effective crime control by the book, you have to pay for it. I do, and I want to. We need more resources devoted to law enforcement. More officers, better equipment, better working conditions and, yes, better pay and benefits for the people on the front lines.

If we want a law enforcement agency as clean as FBI but as effective as CPD, we have to pay up.

Protect yourselves. Do it by the book. Let us pick up the tab. We've been doing on the cheap for too long, at your expense. The public gets a free ride on your commitment to public service. Game over. Make us pay for what you give us. You're worth it. `

No one where I work are doing more than required by the 50 minute to two hour old Oec calls we get on the radio. No stops no interviews no using your police instincts and stopping known gangmembers nothing!!!
Its the CPD the stripped and sued non-backed police. I actually cringe having to drive by these thugs without stopping them, but I dont want to violate the right of a gangbanger in his own city, the city he works so hard to keep nice.

We can't search them and we can't "violate their civil rights". This is a career but it is just a freaking job. It is not worth your blood, your money or your freedom. Weiss is a fucking BEYOTCH!!!! I hear that we could all get the same gun. The FBI aka Fucking Bunch of Idiots, is having a sale of their old weapons. Never fired and only droppped once. Some do still have footprints permeantly etched into the finish. Thats from all the times the guns were dropped and the agents trambled them. Weis looks like "Eugene the Jeep" from "Popeye". Of all the bitching I har on this blog, nothing but bitching actually, I can say that it is not our fault. I know you're saying, "No shit." Not for the reasons stated here so far. It is the criminal justice system as a wholein Cook County and across most of the nation.

I think the one and only reason violence is so high in Chicago is because of our State's Attorney's Office. Felony Review is a joke. That is the reason for this level of violence.
When the average, non piece of shit, is the victim of a crime, they are astounded to learn that we are not vigilantly pursuing every avenue to investigate and charge the person(s) responsible. We do. We know that the State's Attorney's offive is nohing but a sham to keep people out of the system. THAT'S IT. A prosecutor's office is supposed to be the State of Illinois, County of Cook's, arm of criminal prosecution. It is everything but. I can't even say they are trying to win a case before it gets to trial anymore. They are simply trying not to let any more cases be brought into the system. It is all about the money. They don't want to have to pay to prosecute anyone. That is why the violence is so bad. There ae a lot of dogs on this department and a lot of officers bitching saying they are not doing shit anymore, but I see officers making impressive arrests everyday. We have averaged almost 35 guns recovered per day. That is not everyone laying down on the job. The problem is, noone calls anything in anymore and minimizes what they have because they kow they can't get it approved. When I came on we called in all hot cars and would generally get charges. now, officers don't even call in cars with a peeled column. They WILL NOT call in a steal with the keys no matter what the circumstances. They don't try for the robbery, they say fuck having to wait 9 hours and find 37 witnesses, charge him with theft and a battery. It's not even the detectives doing that, it's the patrolman. Detectives are the same way though, I know. But it is for the same reason. Same amount of paperwork for a charge or not (add a 101.) Blame this whole violence problem squarely where it belongs, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

Definitely right about not putting your ass on the line! I got t-boned going to an officer needs help call and ended up jacked around by the medical section and doctors, only to find out that I needed my shoulder fixed and walked around for 6 more months waiting for an MRI to find out that I had herniated discs, spinal cord compression and swelling in my cord. Could have been left a quad. Medical time ran out and haven't been paid since January and board has put off my hearing since February. It's April and I haven't seen a dime and no end in sight. Board sends you to another doctor so they can release you and then defer your hearing again for the 75% hearing, which could be another 3-4 months. I'm not Donald Trump! No end in sight. Word of advice.....don't get hurt doing this job because they'll do anything not to pay you. They screw you over, drag their feet, burn up your time and then leave you without a check and tell you that you can get another job while you wait. Doing what? I'd like to tell those morons to see who'll hire them when they lose 10% of movement in their shoulder and 25% in their neck and can't lift more than 18 lbs. TARA training???

Are you kidding me? Remember the only reason Terrorist training was adopted by the CPD was because it was a part of a larger grant that gave the CPD about 8 or 9 million and OEMC about 800K. OEMC gets a cut right off the top. That goes for any grant that the CFD or CPD get.

As a CPD blue shirt or white shirt for that matter we will be crime used scene preservation and traffic control- vehicular and pedestrian. Exepmts above the rank of commander will be at OEMC.

City misfires
on gun violence

Steve Chapman
April 24, 2008

When a rash of gun murders takes place, it makes sense for the police to do one of two things: renew tactics that have been effective in the past at curbing homicides, or embrace ideas that have not been tried before. But those options don't appeal to Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis. What he proposes instead is a crackdown on assault weapons.

I'm tempted to say this is the moral equivalent of a placebo—a sugar pill that is irrelevant to the malady at hand. But that would be unfair. Placebos, after all, sometimes have a positive effect. Assault weapons bans, not so much.

If there are too many guns in Chicago, it's not because of any statutory oversight. The city has long outlawed the sale and possession of handguns. It also forbids assault weapons. If prohibition were the answer, no one would be asking the question.

I know gone are the days of good pinch, take the week off, but COME ON! Apparently gone are the days of get a pistol take the rest of the day! (atleast according to this fucking idiot!)
--------------

Those days have been gone. Go check out another district and see if the gang/tact guys are taken care of... even the gun and go (get a gun and the rest of the tour is spent 'doing the paper') days are gone.
The bosses don't give a shit about the PO's anymore and just like you're not going to risk your job for a boss, he's not going to do the same by giving you a duck any longer.
This is NOT a defense of an idiot sergeant mind you. A leader is supposed to lead and be expected to communicate with his team. Conflicting marching orders are inexcusable as are the do as I say, not as I do attitude. Then you have the sergeants that expect you to read their mind instead of having the leadership skills to delegate responsibility.
We're all adults here and until we have supervisors that start realizing that, we're never going to get back to the old way: where criminals actually feared and respected the police for the proactive and aggressive policework that made the city a much safer place than it is today. If you think about it, it really wasnt that long ago.

I took serious exception to the fact that the author appears blatantly dishonest about the identity of his source.

All you want to know is who said it...and if you are the "police"(which I doubt)...its so you can jam "the source"

The long post about the crusty old Tact Sgt is about MF from 023. Nice guy but soft as shit. The person who posted this must be one of the 011 retards who transferred in. Im not defending the sgt but you guys are equally as clueless.

4/24/2008 08:19:00 PM

No way!!! The post had to be about the most useless piece of crap sgt. I have ever known. armando galan from 019....He my friends is truely clueless.

Murders and all other crimes going crazy and what are the bosses in 14 looking for? Making sure everything is right with uniforms. The 3 kids missing and mom murdered and not even a mention in roll (they went to the Yates School 1800 Richmond). New DC Lucifer, sending around some new paper, not Dept. material looking to document all parkers, movers, curfew, absentees officers did that day. J-Fraud really messed up when he picked this goof. I am sure the MLD's, Cobras and Latin Kings will be impressed if you only have 2 pocket and not 4 on your vest or that your handcuff are not exposed.

4/24/2008 12:28:00 AM

Wow... You are an idiot and have absolutely no balls. Leave the team. I am sure he won't have a problem letting you go. Also have a clue what you want to air out on a public forum. I hope your Sgt. figures out who it was and sends your ass to the watch ( and I am not knocking beat guys because I am one)...

I could care less if these officers parked their cars for one day, two days, or forever. This city does not pay them enough let alone understaffed, underpaid, no equipment, no laws to assist them, etc. They deserve to do very little if no police work.

In fact, I may invite the officers on my beat into my home for an entire shift and we'll plug in some movies, order pizza, etc that way they can relax and in the meantime, these thugs can kill each other and we'll see how high the numbers can rise then.

You should be ashamed of yourself. I know the Sgt. that you are talking about. If you can name me one person who has worked for him that he jammed up I will find you and give you my next paycheck. And yes everyone knows who you are "Wilbur Johnston from 011." He is not a Sgt. who lets his guys duck, Oh well. he had a rather senior team until recently and they dealt with him because they knew who he really was. From what I understand people are trying to get back to his team. This says something about who he is. Like others have stated in response to your STUPID ASS comment, leave the team. Actually please do your team a favor and leave now.

Lucio Martinez and his brother in laws Tony Navarrete and his brother are all merit promotions. When Martinez was a w/c in 11 if you were working an early car and asked for two hours on the end, he would switch you to a late car or a rapid so you would have to use four or more hours. Also so stupid, he did not know what felony review was and had to have a p.o. explain it to him. Merit all the way for him.

How can you possibly be correct about Lucio Martinez??

After listening to J-Fed, and the statement he made that he promoted those who took care of their people. I nearly vomited typing that.

I must have be a victim of discrimination since I wasnt a LAPA member. He never did anything to help me or any 1or 2out. When I was in 011 Lucio used that F/2 Desk sgt to do all his work. What a moody B@#&% she was.

We live in a nation of Laws and Police Officers are expected to follow those laws. And I will, every last fucking one of them, and, the Dept. rules too.

Sorry about the murder rate. But theres nothing I can do about it. That carLoad of shitbags with the dice hanging off the mirror? Well... no probably cause to stop.

Others might view me as a mutt, but in reality? Im just following the rules. Besides, who doesnt love a mutt?

And the smartest mutts are always looking over their shoulders for bigger mutts who are sizing them up for the high hard one.

Bow Wow.

"In the years I worked in 010 and 011 I never observed a table set for dinner. Pad locks and chains on the fridge...yep saw that many times. Did observe many fine citizens walking down the street eating or drinking out of a brown paper bag. That led my partners and I to a working title for a Doctorial Disertation. That title was "The Migratory Feeding Patterns of the West-Side Citizen".

OBVIOUSLY, the good people in those districts never needed your services, which is why you rarely, if ever, were invited into their homes. I work in 018. I've been inside many million dollar condos and townhouses with tilework on the floor that is worth more than my Lexus. I've seen some of the same disfunctional people you described in your post. Because they have money, they hide it better than most. It's all out there in front of you, in every neighborhood, if you're willing to look. I expect people with no parents who care and no eomployment prospects to be a certain way. What really gets me is when I see people who have EVERY ADVANTAGE at their fingertips, all the right schools, the connections, just piss it away.
That I will never understand, and it's a common enough sight down here in the gold coast.

You have to admit that P.O.'s don't do much on the street. Police no longer enforce traffic laws and the crime clearance rate is abysmal and still dropping. Way too much attitude and admit it - money, too. Society can't continue to hire good people as police & teachers and then assign them to inner-city areas where normal is abnormal. It changes people and not for the better.

It's funny seeing how police attempt to spell words. Good thing that Chgo police never write reports - or people might think you're dumb. And, well-paid, too.

Isn't his brother Marty been driving the city treasuers? Form santos,to rice and the new gal D=3 pay and she needs a fleet of drivers like Burke? WTF? Why is it the new city clerk drives himself and got rid of all the high paid servants? hey Jody maybe you could trim the details and put these officers on the streets where we need them! you stated on roe conns show you ahd "total autonomy" from the mayor to do anything with CPD, how about standing up to the political bullshitters and remove details, they have millions and could get civilian servants to cart their asses around and pick up their cleaning! Call the new clerk he will tell you how he drives his own car, gets his own fuel, and services the car without police lackeys with 2 days on 3 days off schedules plus all the overtime!

The people other than me posting on this site, probably have under tens years on, no make that under 7 years on and have no idea what it's really like. Things do change and sometimes we have to change with them. Just have "Common Courtesy" towards eachother. And we can make this a bttter place. We shouldn't air out our dirty laundry for all to see. And again, if it's that bad. LEAVE. And don't worry about someone or another team ducking. It's been said on here time after time. Tact guys chose to be there and you didn't. And to sit down and write some Bullshit about a Sgt. who actually has taken care of you, and you're just pissed cuase a few times he couldn't. Go fuck yourselves and leave. It's your choice.

Are you implying that those complaining about those complaining about those complaining are complaining too much?

Or is your complaint more about those who complain having no basis for their complaints, seeing as they are not members of the group complaining about those complaining about those complaining?

Is that the group you're complaining about?

The group that's complaining about the group they are not members of?

Or the group that's complaining about the group they are not a member of complaining about the complaints of those who are members of the group complaining about the complaints of those who complain?

Is that the substance of your complaint?

And have you complained to those to whom you complain to?

And did they complain to you about your complaining to them about those who complain about those who complain, whether members of the group who are not members of the group who complain about the complaints of those who complain or not?

Just wondering......
