Just Wondering...

Why would J-Fed move the head of Management and Labor Affairs Section in the middle of negotiations?

Hahahaha. Yeah, we know. J-Fed doesn't have the authority to move anyone. We mean, the mayor moved the guy J-Fed was bragging was the Best Man at his wedding. Public emasculation?

But seriously, are negotiations going that badly? Perhaps we should tell Mark and the boys to file for expedited arbitration? After all, we're coming up on what? Ten months? Eleven without a contract? We're sure we can safely assume that negotiations are at a complete standstill and we might as well get the Arbitrator involved.

Hey look! Rifles! And all those new Tahoes!

What is the usual time we go without a contract? 2ish years or so??? That too is a money game the department plays with the city. The city will "high ball" the estimate they will give us on a raise. Let's say 6% a year, we settle for 2%, the remaining 4% goes back to the city. Oh, do you get interest on your retro check? WTF, that cash is sitting in an account in some bank, collecting interest for someone...

The FOP will wait a long time to file for arbitration this time so be warned. We might well be without a contract for two years or more.

The arbitrator will NOT make any award on two issues that are important to us: an alternate work schedule and paid health insurance for retirees who retire at age 55.

If FOP files for arbitration, those two issues go out the window.

If you want to complain, write a letter of complaint on paper (not email) and put it in an envelope with a stamp on it and mail it to the Mayor. I doubt many if any at all will do this but thousands of signed letters to the Mayor are better than thousands of anonymous rants on this blog.

We might go years without a new contract, and when it is renewed, it will be a crazy figure like a 1.5% increase. And by that time gas will be $4.50 a gallon. It's lose/lose.

Prove me wrong Mark D. Let's see you do something other than order Connie's Pizza...

Where do you think these funds are, which are budgeted for.
Police officers short....... 3900
Approx, annual salary (PPO)..$45000
Total Budgeted Salaries not
being used..........$ 175,500,000

I'm pretty sure the numbers are close to being correct. If not, correct them yourself.

Lots of money not being used folks.
It's just sitting in the "General Fund", for use by King Midget and his cronies.
