Ah Yes, the "Planted" Gun

No wonder the fleet we have sucks so bad - coppers carrying around all those drop guns, drop dope and no doubt, a few drop bodies for those really sticky situations really screws with the vehicle suspensions:
  • Relatives, witnesses and friends of a 19-year-old man shot and wounded by police on Mother's Day allege that a gun was planted on him after he was shot, according to a Channel 5 news report.

But prosecutors said Javara Gardner, charged with assaulting a police officer, was shot after he dropped a gun and tried to pick it up.

  • Witness Diana Banks said a policewoman took a gun she found in a nearby yard and "put it by the boy's head."

An unidentified friend claimed the gun was his and that he hid it in the yard when he saw police approaching.

Aha! A new twist on the old story - a "witness" who placed the gun in a yard and another witness who claims police put it right by the offender they had just shot. It makes sense. Put a gun right by a guy you just shot so he can have another go at it and you can really let him have a few at even closer range.

Does anyone in the media even bother to read these fantasy pieces they write up? And if it's even remotely true, shouldn't the jackass who claims to have hidden the gun in the yard be under arrest and charged as an accessory?

I saw this BS story on the news last night. They had the guy on camera saying that the gun was his and that he hid it in the yard. The media blurred out his face and mentioned that they did so because he could face charges. If the media knows of this guy's identity and they're helping him stay unidentified can't the media face some punishment?

What ever happened to the "he was carrying a baby" conspiracy theory?

No credibility at all. None.

Our local media has NO accountability to the stories they broadcast to viewers, no matter how filled with b.s. they are.

But if you look at it from another way, the viewers see once again how the black community in this case are a big joke from the lies they tell in front of the camera.

just silly.

Yes, there should be an arrest.

The S/A however will want to witness the co-defendent and use him / her in the grand jury (lock him/her in so to speak) and offer non prosecution as a carrot.

It's too bad but the ASA office in the past and currently is not all it seems to be.

Let me see, they shoot the future scientist. Then they waist precious time looking for a gun that was hidden in a near by yard. Then go back to the Honor roll student and place the gun by his head so all the ghetto witnesses can observe it.
Shit all these MF's are already figuring out how to divide that Ghetto lottery.
Hey fucking media stop giving free advertisement to these law firm during the press releases!

is the 'unidentified friend' coming to court? maybe he can take the UUW? And lets say he did hide it in a yard, would that stop the obviously law abiding 'victim' from finding it and putting a PO in fear for his/her life?

...just remember the news is about making money, they will feed you any amount of bullshit to keep people watching...i.e. everything is a conspiracy. take all their bullshit with a grain of salt like everyone else and consider their "sources"...a group of people who can't stop killing, cripling, and drugging each other well that is until they feel they've been wronged.

I hope to God that some journalist is reading this. Get this. Your profession is dead. There is nothing left of it besides profit driven yellow journalism pandering to a population that seems to be too ignorant to see that your sensationalistic crap is not news.

"SNOW STORM TO HIT CHICAGO!" God, really? In Chicago during the winter? That's real news. Playing the same crap clip of any type of police screw up over, and over, and over, and over again. Another soldier dead in Iraq! Really? During a war? We lost more men on Iwo Jima in a month than in five years in Iraq.

You couldn't wipe the asses of the newsmen of the thirties and forties. They used common sense and discretion. News was news. You scum sucking bottom feeders can only crap out sensationalistic bullshit. If a gang banging scumbag says something anti police, you put it on even though you know it's crap. That's what makes you as bad as they are. You're yellow. Scared to stand up and do the right thing.

I don't watch the news or read your rags. Internet and independent research all the way. You shitbags and your leftist agenda can kiss my hairy white ass.

I wish you could print this, but there's no profit or angle in it for you. No way to get the ratings up. Sell out sons of bitches.

Wow, a bottle of wine usually mellows me out.

Yes, responsible journalism is dead. To many lazy wanna-be writers that realize that breaking real news means you have to put the work in. So they dont bother. They subsitute canned sensationalism and bandwagon jumping for news. Look at the idiot that fabricated the story about the Patriots taping a walk thru, and then releasing a bogus story right before the superbowl. Is there any public outcry? No. Is the rest of the media ashamed and running with this story? No... but you can be damn sure that they would cry 'code of silence' after a copper is accused of something.
The profession has been watered down with so many media outlets all competing for attention and the morally weak individuals that are nowadays posing as journalists are taking the easy way out. Why work for a real story when you can make something out of nothing. Or better yet, take something good the police do, and spin it like they did something wrong.
When that asshole that took 3 hostages on Ewing got sent to his final resting place after shooting not only at the hostages, but at the police, did the media say anything about police rescuing 3 hostages? No. The headline of the little blurb was "man shot, killed by police". God forbid you put a positive spin on something police related.
God forbid you actually hit the pavement, do some research, and break a real story. It used to be called INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, but its a dead art.
Have a little pride in your work and go out and break a story. Dig a little deeper, and by that I mean, when momma says, 'they shot my baby, he be an honor students, he was just comin home from baby sittin', fucking ask her to see a report card! Find out who he was 'babysittin', and if he's an aspiring 'rap star' find out what gigs he's booked for himself. When all those answers come back negative, either print that or disregard the lying piece of shit's story instead of printing it as gospel.
You, as journalists are actually dumbing down the nation and contributing to the laughing stock that we're becoming as a country.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
