- At least four people were injured, one of them critically, when they were hit by a car driven by a man who appeared to crash it intentionally into a crowd in a West Side alley, police said.
The incident happened at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Lawndale Avenue, said Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.
Chicago police believe "the vehicle was used as a weapon," and the driver was previously involved in a dispute at that location, said Officer John Mirabelli.
And it seems the car got away - otherwise we'd be reading about a man dragged from the vehicle and beaten to death. But it remains a fact that if the urge to murder comes over someone, they are going to use whatever is at their disposal to inflict the mayhem as soon as they work up the nerve.

Cars are evil. Cars kill. All cars should be banned and we should sue the car manufacturers. If it weren't for cars, there would be no killings and no greenhouse effect. The car makers need to pay. Except the ones that shuttle me to my protests and carry my team of armed guards.
Sounds like people are playing too much grand theft auto IV.
That is just where I want to gather with my freinds....a Westside alley. The odors add to the ambiance and the taste of the wine is enhanced by the scattered garbage.........nice.
While we're banning all guns from good people lets ban baseball bats, golf clubs, knives and now all cars. That should do it.

Maybe SCC mis-posted the article and had to reset the clock and some lucky reader managed to get a comment up prior to the reposting, thereby adding to the conspiracy that little blue men...
We mis-posted. It happens after a few beverages. We used to post stuff a hour or two in advance all the time - check the archives from 2007, you'll find thousands of examples.

Sounds like the incident at Durkin Park last year, oh but driver of vehicle got off with just tickets because the victims were all white
Why couldn't all the cars run in the Westside just run into people standing on the corner.... I wouln't catch the offender too.
