Thats a real shame. MC was a good guy, very friendly and a family guy. Who know's when it transpired but I never would have guessed that he'd get into that.

And over and over you hear officer's on the air asking if a tow truck is listening to do a relo at an accident. You are stupid if you request them or even allow them to stay on the scene of an accident. These guys race to accidents and have even killed an inicent motorist. You should hammer these tow drivers with the many MCC and State laws on the books. If they solicit buisness, arrest them and tow their truck. If an accident victim needs a tow, let them call their own, if an immediate relo is needed, go through OEMC....

This guy traded 52.5% which is what he would qualify for at 56 with 21 years for ? I used to sell cars as a part time job and car salesmen have a saying"There is an ass for every seat". This saying fits more than car sales.

Hi boys and gals, its your pal Lt. Richie Scotchbreath. I saw some readers asking about me. Sorry, had to do a department required 30 day in-house rehab but I am back now. (Hic-Up, Burp, Fart - Thank God on have my Depends Underwear On!)
The great thing about being clean and sober for 30 days is that you have a whole mess of drinking money when you get out. Having not spent a dime for a drink in the last 30 days, I am rich! Well actually Richie Rich Scotchbreath.
But here's is a tip for all you youngsters on the job. Never trust a tow truck driver. If they aren't mobbed up, they are covicted felons 5 times over. Lt. Richie Scotchbreath won't even accept a free drink from them at TR's pub. That should tell you something.
(Hic-Up, Burp, Fart - Thank God on have my Depends Underwear On!)
Have to run, they are having a big welcome back from rehab party at TR's pub for me. Lt. Jimbo Spratte, freshly back from some tropical island, is going to play the Find The Tan Lines On Lt. Spratte Contest. (Never knew they made Speedos in that size)

Have fun and talk with you all soon! Have some drinking to catch up on!
(Hic-Up, Burp, Fart - Thank God on have my Depends Underwear On!)

Sincerely,
Lt. Richie Scotchbreath

Hopefully people will understand that this is more an example of the level of corruption which is endemic to Chicago as a whole rather than thinking that all the CPD LEO's do this kind of thing. Unfortunately, that's the culture in those parts, but CPD guys getting arrested on a regular basis doesn't help.....

This department is so permanently fucked, this city won't even be here in another fifty years.

Back to the streets? These were the same clowns that did everything they could to get off the street.

I got news for Jody. There were only a handful of cops on this job that ever did a goddamn thing. Most of them are on the list of 662 that the aldermen want to fire. There may be another 500 who did the same shit but were better at smoothing things over on departure. That's somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 cops that did 95% of the lifting on this job.

Those 1000 cops were supposed to train the 1% of recruits that would carry the load in the future. That ain't happening. As these 1000 fade into retirement, the department will generate even more recruits who want to grow up to be office workers.

An entire department of crime statisticians, weather reporters, phone operators, file managers, and spokesmen. A giant human resources department. That's the future.

Mike,

Many years ago as a wet behind the ears, snot nosed rookie I tried to tell you there was no such thing as good money as so many of the traffic guys in 016 thought of the tow money. Did Opie’s arrest 10 or so years ago for the same thing not give you a clue? I’m truly sorry for the years of hard work and reputation that you just blew, not to mention the embarrassment for your family and friends, but I have to say, you were definitely warned.

It's interesting to read the comments section after stories involving officers. Most negative of course, calling for the dismantling of the department, etc, etc. Yet Daley and his machine keep getting voted in. With all of the corruption in Chicago why is the FBI devoting 16 months worth of manpower and time to busting such a small time scam? Why is this story all over the papers yet Daley, Stroger, Blagoabitch, and the alderman are not targets of the media?

SCC: I came on this job in 1990 in a southside district. My FTO, who was good, honest and very funny, told me to handle my traffic stops like this: "You're either going to pull over Murderers or undercover FBI agents on your traffic stops. If they don't try to kill you, it means one thing: They're FBI agents and they want to indict you!"
I remember this 18 year old conversation like it was yesterday.
To all of you new guys on the job, use this advice. It'll keep you out of the shitter and out of the shitcan.

After reading these posts and seeing how you are bashing a once fellow officer I don't see why you get upset the public talks that way about some of you. Here is a guy who understood at one point what it means to be CPD. The fact that he deviated from robocop status or that he made bad choices just makes him human. A mistake that he and his family will now have to pay for. I certainly hope none of you fall from your high horse and put your family in this position. I am not defending what this officer did but DO NOT LOWER yourself to talk to him like the media that you all so hate does. Such hate is unecessary .

Because the federal government is just as corrupt as our city, county and state governments.

Governments are made up of people and people, as we all know, or should know, are the biggest stinkers on the planet.

At least dogs rarely fight for reasons other than hunger, territory, and cock blocking.

Impressive...that's fucking it up olde school...maybe it's just a misunderstanding, the poor office probably thought it was 1989 again...everything will be sorted out before you know it...in the mean time, here's some biblical scripture favs to lift all our spirits in these troubled times...

'let he who is without without sin cast the first stone'

'to err Is human, to forgive, divine'

'NEVER hath oral whilst driving though an I-PASS lane onst the Tri-State'

and my personal favorite...

'Fuck the citizens who ignore the admonition to Judge Not, Least Thee Be Judged'

Don't forget kids: OUR God is a God of fire and retribution!

7/23/2008 09:30:00 PM

Actually, no, not realy. Well, they could be doing the math on the mob's huge 20 million dollar gambling thing over the course of 40 years. Holy shit, all that time and resource on that? Little over $3k a man? WOW, THOSE GUYS ARE GOOD! (I think I just puked a little)
Of course there is the poor FBI agent that got his little ass handed to him "for no reason" the other day on the north side. Citizens had to pull the bad guy off of the agent.
Then there is Captain Clueless, whn not busy fucking over his fellow FBI agents, he decides to fuck up a major metro Police Dept.

I guess fucking with the CPD/Local Police is about all they can do well.

Silly coppers, that was plain stupid of him. But honestly did catching this dirty copper solve Chicago's increasing crime problem?
Seems to me that the police is to busy investigating police while the entire city is going to shit. Real criminals are out there running loose like savages and all the FBI or IAD are putting in thousands of hours to catch one guy. Even if he gives up his accomplices it won't solve the growing problem. By the time they go to trial Chicago's murder rate will be greater than a war zone. They might as well climb to the top of City Hall and install a large spot light with a bat symbol on it and call in the Dark Knight to save the day. Chicago is doomed!!!

I'd just like to leave a comment in passing about how the CFD union handles their people and how the FOP handles us. The CFD union guy explained that taking $$ on weekends helps the citizens in the end. The CFD have been taking coffee, meals and cash for years [and aparently nobody cared until now]. So when the city tries to press this, the firemen will be exonerated. The response from the FOP, nothing yet. Just an observation here.

How pray tell is this copper getting arrested for corruption a contract violation requiring help from the FOP?

Years ago the FOP spent over $300,000 defending a bunch of police from the licensing unit from corruption charges. I felt that was a theft of our dues, why should the union defend police officer from corruption charges? That's not part of our job description. Steal and you should be on your own.

He can get the money he paid into the fund but nothing more. Then he can turn right around and hand it to his lawyer. Dumb fuck, he deserves everything coming his way. I feel nothing but contempt for this asshole.

I got stuck working with drunks and thieves early in my career and those miserable thieving fucks felt like they owned everything. They acted as if it was their birthright to steal. Not a tenth of those who deserve to get caught actually do get caught.

I worked with a scum copper who stole from his fellow officers. he got arrested, on duty, for shaking down citizens on traffic stops (in the 1990's!) and then beat the case and then laughed about it at the desk months later. Scumbag. I have no sympathy for thieving police. I've worked two jobs for years, scumbags steal and wear this uniform? Fuck them.

You should hammer these tow drivers with the many MCC and State laws on the books. If they solicit buisness, arrest them and tow their truck. If an accident victim needs a tow, let them call their own, if an immediate relo is needed, go through OEMC....

Of course he would show up to help, never miss an oppurtunity to find the angle and take a payout. We had one of "these" guys where I worked in the past. We would avoid going on the air where we were to avoid this clown showing up and us getting caught up in a money beef. Plenty of mobsters love their families too, doesn't make them any less of a thief. I love my family, and I've never taken a dime to support them. Hope to God YOU weren't part of his secretarial pool when he went to 014. You would have been the first "house mouse" I would have had to release "back to the streets".....although I'm sure your case reports are probably even more poorly written.
Any new commander is going to see a pile of paperwork they are not familiar with. I'd have more respect for someone who asks what it is they're signing, and verifies that the document is what it's supposed to be before affixing their signature, than for someone who just blindly affixes their name to anything just because the hired help tells them to.
