Home Opener

ESPN preview here. Orton's got to open it up in the air for the ground game to have a chance.

But we've got more important things to worry about:

Camp is open! Eight preseason games and nineteen days until we see if Rocky's off-season moves will break the "Curse of Bill." It has been a long few years.

i am still a hawks fan but watch only on tv. i refuse to go to the uc and pay their exorbitant prices for tickets, parking, food, and beverages. i have been spending my entertainment money at allstate arena watching wolves games. much more reasonable on a policeman's salary with a car full of kids and good hockey.

That practice open to fans yesterday was marketing genius on the Hawks part. What do they have in store when they bring home Lord Stanley's Cup?

I was very saddened to hear that PO Eddie Massas was killed yesterday in a motorcycle accident. You always had a smile on your face and you were always a true gentleman. You will be missed I will keep your family and friends in my thoughts. To all the officers on the scene you all did a great job and I will keep you all in my prayers!

to the guy ripping me when i predicted a loss in Bears opener where are u now? Dont be so quick to be excited after 1 game, reality will eventually set in, and the guy every fan wanted has taken over the reigns only to be sacked 3x and picked twice. Orton will not be better than grossman but maybe the fans that started booing him by halftime(no doubt same ones that wanted him last yr) will eventually realize u need an O Line and WRs to make plays in NFL. And Grossman had benson, not forte, forte has already done more in 3 games than benson did his entire time here. Know the game buddy. I predicted 5 wins before week one and I dont think i will be far off. D is way overrated as we saw again today down the stretch and it will be 1-3after philly next week. But i wont say i told you so

-----------------------------------
As I recall, you changed your prediction from 4-12 before the first game to 6-10 after. You also stated that we'd all be screaming for Grossman to replace Orton by game 5.
Which leads me to ask why you feel the need to make predictions in the first place? OK, I'll answer my own question; it's so you can tell everyone,"I told you so".

Signed,
The "unathletic" Bears observer. (yep, I'm the guy who only played D-3 ball, but is wise enough to stay away from making predictions in a sport where one key injury can change a team's fortunes)

Dump Turner, Dump Orton, Dump Grossman, put Lovie on the launching pad if things don't turn around real quick, let the new kid Hanie be starting Q.B, and let the chips fall where they may. This is Pro Football, not a high school science experiment.

I wanted to send a post about a special event that took place Sunday involving the Chicago Blackhawk Family and their support for the CPD and CFD. The Charity 16" softball game originally scheduled for last Sunday 14SEP08 which was washed out was held yesterday in Crestwood and a huge thumbs up to the organizers and the Blackhawks for their support. Unfortunately because of the opening of training camp current players could not attend this week but alumni players such as Cliff Korroll, King Korab, Brian Noonan, 1980 USA Olympian & Blackhawk Jack O'Callahan and others made it a very nice event. Thanks to Rocky Wirtz, John McDonaugh, and the Blackhawk family for supportng us and the families of the Finest and Bravest. I cannot wait to attend several Hockey games this season! Go Blackhawks!
