Philadelphia Forum

As noted in the comments and elsewhere, Philadelphia suffered yet another Line of Duty death. There are a number of Philly police blogs that have been mentioned here over the years. If we recall, the main one was Domelights.com. A regular visitor of ours, KateyKakes also has a blog.

We're sure they'd appreciate a few kind words.

We need an SCC forum just like they have! Have you ever thought about switching up to a forum SCC? Or is is too much work to maintain?

Many thoughts and prayers to Philadelphia right now.

I wish to express my deepest sympathies on behalf of the Chicago Police Department. Officer Patrick McDonald-R.I.P. Brother and may the Lord alleviate the suffering of those who you left behind. God Bless the McDonald Family.

I posted on a few different Philly websites but not the Domelight, you have to be registered there to post. The Domelight is quite abit different than SCC in format too.

Philly is very similar to Chicago in alot of ways. Lots of good coppers out there who understand our plight all too well. I wish the City of Brotherly Love all the Best in their troubles.

Thank you, SCC. You are a class act.

The wonderful men and women of the PPD have really had a rough time. It seems like there's one LODD after another and it has just got to stop.

There are so many times that the PPD compare and sympathize with the CPD because of the incompetent idiots who are running through.

Unfortunately, you got stuck with Philly's J-Fed, and we got a run-off from Chicago (Charles "Freckles" Ramsey).

I know the men and women of the PPD would appreciate a few kind words. www.domelights.com/forums.

You all be safe out there.

This is a link I found on the Philly forum. It is a press conference with San Franciso Police Officers Association President Gary Delagnes. This is the type of spokesman we could use.

Our hearts go out to all the Philly police families.

Must we revisit the tragedies of Kenny Kaner and Bob Wenzel and most recently, Pat McDonald in North Philly to DEMAND all district squad cars have two officers?

There are scores of other big-city police murders across the nation which will prove that Shortshanks is willing to accept the murders of solo police officers as just another component of "the Chicago Way".

For openers, get all of those able-bodied, empty-holstered suckholes pushing paper as well as the "do-nothings" in so-called specialized units out into the streets of the districts and detective areas.

The thought of a captain's daughter with two years OTJ working the desk makes me want to puke. Even her mommy never paid her dues.

The clout babies are shameless and have not earned the sacred right to continue carrying a star. PAY YOUR FUCKING DUES, BITCHES!

Endemic CLOUT is the metastasized CANCER that has irreversibly destroyed the once-proud CPD. Morale isn't simply low. Daley's stranglehold has rendered it nonexistent.

WEIS: Ah, "the brave knight on the white stallion" himself. Fuck you! All hopes for you as the reforming outsider are DOA. If you'd kindly take your tongue out of your massah's colon, do one of two "transparent" things: Either go after Shortshanks full throttle or get the fuck out of town in disgrace. You've sold your soul to the antichrist. Have you no pride whatsoever? The PPD doesn't want you either. They've already got a full plate of "Freckles". Get a teaching job at Quantico, you pathetic excuse for a "police executive". An eggplant has more experience as a "first responder" than you'll ever have.

R.I.P.: Officer Patrick McDonald, PPD.

God bless all.

My condolences to the street cops of the Philadelphia Police Department on their loss.

Y'all have a mayor named Daley. Theirs is appropriately named Nutter. Both of them think that "the right of the people" doesn't mean Chicagoans or Philadelphians. The big difference in their gun control schemes is that Pennsylvania has a preemption law that is supposed to prevent cities from passing their own ordinances that are more restrictive than state law. The people of Chicago have to deal with "home rule," "Chicago IS Illinois," and "this is MY town!"

My son just returned home from finishing school out in Villanova. He had a lot of praise for the Philly PD and also told me that there in Philly the community and media actually rally around their officers. He said it tempered a bit after that beating incident captured on film but when one of their officers is killed some of their radio stations host benefits for the families and such.
God bless the officers who lives were so violently ended.

O.T. We should have gotten RAMSEY instead of Weiss. No substitute for real police experience. Daley blew it.... AGAIN.
9/26/2008 10:03:00 PM

The reason Ramsey won't get nor want the spot under dickhole daley is because his dis-honor wont ever let him run the dept the way every other fucking city does..... You hire a top police boss to run it by THEMSELVES.

saw it on ODMP, went to philly.com. it read like a horror story. they said a one man unit stopped a car driven by f-1 and 27yr old m-1 passenger. plate expired or did not fit car. the passenger bolted and copper gave chase. the woman drove off and last report subject of search. the passenger, (first violent crime at age 10, on parole last two weeks or so pulled out a taurus .45 and turned on copper. he got his holster open but pookie shot him. when he was down, pookie it was reported shot him several more times. he then took off on a bike taken from a bystander. two motor cops chased him down. he threw the bike at one of the motorcops and started shooting again, hitting one of the motors in the leg. the other motor fortunately hit the SOB. pookie ran around a corner and bled out like the dog he was on the street. A GREAT ENDING TO A VERY SAD STORY! it seems that philly has the same problems you guys have. they have lost a half dozen in the past two years. (can't imagine and still wonder what it must have been like for CPD in late 60's and early 70's when you were averaging TEN a year! and NOW have to deal with PRB because of indeterminate sentencing issues) problems: 1) not enough cops, 2)criminal justice system broken (female judge gave him light sentence on last beef and suddenly cannot be reached for comment now), 3)PRB disfunctional, think prison is hotel and need to kick guests out so new ones can come in rather than increase rooms.
4) corrupt government, 5)worse of all-ghetto dwellers who think cops are the enemy and not the jive assed MFs who terrorize their neighborhoods. (remember MOVE?) remember all the people who came out and defended those assholes? finally, the gun was traced to a purchase a month or so ago in a southern state. unk how it got to philly or in the hands of pookie already but the purchaser charged by ATF with lying on federal firearms form. hes out on bond. as a citizen, i wish all of you the best of luck. i would not want this to happen here but for reasons 1-5, it can and sadly has.

Thank you for all the kind workds. With your permission, SCC, I'd like to take your post and the comments and put them over at the Dome. I know it would surely boost the morale of an PPD that is really down.

Thank you all to have left condolences at at my blog, on Domelight.com, and the guest book that has been set-up. I'm sure it will mean a lot to Pat's family to know that so many cared.

You all at the Chicago Police Department are a class act, without a doubt. You take care of your own - BLUE. You remind me so much of NYPD and Philadelphia and I commend you all.

Again, thank you for taking the time to express your condolences to Pat's family - both blood and blue.

Please be safe out there.

Northside,
You hit the nail on the head all the way. 30 y.o.j. and it makes me puke seeing these worthless bitches sitting on their asses in every district and every unit.

Yes ladies, your gender have brought this once great department to its knees. Thanks Prentice Marshall !

May all our fallen comrades R.I.P.

Northside, God bless you for telling it like it is.

I left a message of condolences for Officer Patrick McDonald on a Philly post linked to "kateykakes" & was VERY PROUD to see all the postings from CPD officers. I also read the news articles & observed their mayor's leadership in going to the hospital to pay his respects to the fallen officer & his family. Wouldn't it be nice to have a mayor like that? Maybe someday . . .

You apparently misunderstood part of my 9:44 AM post.

Like outstanding coppers, these worthless clout babies that always manage to weasel out of harm's way by avoiding the mean streets come in all races and both genders.

Personally, I hold such sworn members in utter contempt. They are misfits who have never earned the privilege of being actual police officers and displaying our star.

While I cited two females in my post, such worthless "bitches" are both male and female.

ALL REAL POLICE OFFICERS MUST PAY THEIR DUES. Take passionate pride in your sworn calling.

I loathe the cowardly imposters who spend their entire careers hiding behind a desk or working Mayberry writing parkers. Revoke their police powers and rehire these strokes as clerks and meter maids for substantially less compensation. All too many of these shameless clowns are ultimately elevated to exempt status. Unconscionable and pathetic.

Stay safe, old-timer. Take your well-deserved pension and fuck 'em. Retirement is great.
