Good shooting, cops ok, life saved, bad guy dead:
Chicago Police fatally shot a man early Friday after he refused to stop stabbing another man at his Near West Side home.
Tyrone K. Bell, 20, of the 100 block of North Bell Avenue, was shot at his home and was dead on the scene, said the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Supposedly a domestic. Good job.

To Mr. Kells. Yes, it was a good job. Meaning the offender was stopped without further loss of life, and the responding officers went home safely at the end of their tour. The deceased dictated the amount of force that was to be used against him, not the officer. A deadly weapon requires deadly force. I type this response to you as a Police Officer in this city, and as a BONAFIDE BLOOD RELATIVE TO THE DECEASED AND HIS (VICTIM) BROTHER. This is what we mean when we say good job.
I was in 013 for a short period of time and I just wanted to say that there is a lot of great coppers and stand up people working there.

Off Topic, Fyi, Po N, craig got a cr against a po from 011 today.
The story is that she abandoned her car(registered to "craig Ministires" outside of city limits) at homan square for over a month. so the supervisors form Homan square called and had her car ticketed and towed. Now she is beefing because she might have to pay a few fines. Watch out for her she is no good. IAD can you look into why she has cars registered outside of city limits. NC go back on the medical where most of your career was spent.

He is the one that decided to use deadly force against another.
He is the one that refused the officer's orders to cease stabbing the person.
The officer, sworn to protect innocent life, had no other choice.

It was a deadly force situation. Great job officer.I know for sure that some idiot out there is going to say "Why didn't the police use the taser?" Well in case you were thinking that here's the answer.
Police respond to deadly force situations with deadly force. Using a taser is not considered deadly force. It's a tool used to temporarily incapacitate the offender which is not completely 100% accurate. You can miss or the prongs might not engage properly. The taser will not have the affect it should on the offender. The offender would have just kept stabbing away at the victim.

People need to stop thinking of the taser in deadly force situations. Deadly force calls for deadly force in return. That means a firearm, not a taser. The instructor at taser training said it best:
Taser=health insurance
Firearm=Life insurance.
