Guess What Won't Happen?

Buried among the articles and budget legalese is this tiny gem spotted by a reader:
  • Increase gun registration fee from $20 to $60 per firearm
Guess what isn't going to get registered anymore? If you guessed "guns," give yourself a pat on the back. We address some of the impact in the article right above this one.

Only those ignorant of history would even think about registering their 2nd Amendment Rights away.

EVERYONE should read Hitler's Mein Kempf.

Just went out and bought a nice small semi auto pistol for carrying
concealed for my retirement, which is weeks away. And guess what? It will never be registered in this city, where I'm moving, you don't
have to register your gun.So shortshanks can rip up all my other registrations, never paid a
dime to register them and I don't
plan on starting now.

Register guns? $60 up from $20? Fuck you Daley, am I glad I left your corrupt loser town years ago to live somewhere I can have a concealed carry permit. I have already convinced one veteran who receives a Union pension and 100% military disability payments to bring his money out west where you can't get your scum sucking hands on any of it, and another friend is coming out here next month to be the police for $57K to start plus overtime/court/etc.

Hey people, if you can get out, do it. You will never be sorry. The demographics are completely different out here, LOL. LVMPD is always hiring, as are others, and a real nice house can be had for $200K no problem. You can't swing a dead cat by the tail out here without hitting a retired Illinos LEO who GTFO'd and never looked back.

Shortshanks you stuttering midget, you're a piece of crap. I sure hope you get what's coming to you someday.

Ive never registered my guns, and nor will I ever. When the gun-grabber named Obama gets elected by the liberal sheepal of this county I forsee him taking the list of registered firearms owners and knocking on doors.

Worse yet- Police officers not being allowed to carry-off duty wia a Presidential Executive Order. Whats to stop it? The strategy seemed to work during WW2 and how is it working over in Australia? Great Britian?

It will still be a win/win for Daley.
Either he collects higher fees for the ridiculous yearly gun registration - or people will refuse to re-register giving Daley and his goons probable cause to confiscate said weapons.

Of course, the gangbangers are exempt and Daley would never think of going after them...

Wouldn't want to upset his largest voting block now would we.

There was a notice in the Daily Bulletin recently, reminding Officers they're required to register non-duty related firearms every year.
Gee, what a coincidence.

Why should you pay a fee for a constitutional right?

At last we will be able to go after the guns. Get warrants on those who don't re-register their guns and take them.

So is it true that if you don't re-register, the cops come knocking on your door? Is that enough of probable cause to get a search warrant?
I don't want to re-register my guns if the price is going to go that high. That's bullshit. $20, as much as it's unconstitutional, is somewhat reasonable. $60? Fuck that shit.

Any word on if Heller has successfully set the standard to bring down the city's gun ban? Can they still legally impose a registration? That's infringement, last time I looked.

Okay, let's raise the fee on gun registration. No problem.

Now, where (and when) can I go and pay these new fees?

HAHAHAHAHA......

Holy Gun Me Down Batman!!!

How about a conceal carry ordinance and let law abiding citizens keep a pistol on them 24/7. Charge them $100 fee. And the Da Mayor's brother can sell them liability insurance.

The range masters can participate in a secondary employment program Citizens Fire BACK.

Wait, we need to get the homicide rate up higher first, yes just stop hiring the police.

Registration,

leads to confiscation. With 2nd ademendment rights being attacked in Chicago, you wonder who is really in charge?

As soon as the Obamessiah replaces one of the five conservative SC Justices, the 2nd Amendment is toast. There's a UN panel which declared gun control a human rights issue (i.e. there's a right to have the government prohibit private guns). This will get incorporated in the small print of some UN-sponsored Rights Declaration that the Senate will ratify. Obamessiah will enact gun prohibition, claiming it's required by the treaty, and the shifted SC will uphold him 5-4.

Just A Civilian who can see what's coming.

**Need a search warrant to get into a house to look for guns that lapsed in registration but again the criminals never register their guns, so again, go after the decent people.

The city will just suspend officers on the spot if they don't re-register a non-duty related weapon. With this job you don't have any rights. They will send a sgt. to your house to search for unregistered weapons If you refuse his entry your suspended.

Called Home Rule

NOT, its an unlawful order, they cant search your home without a SW !

How good do these people do a job of when searching your house? Do they use dogs/x-ray scanners, etc?

They are registered for now but if they raise the price, I won't register them. It's a waste of money for absolutely NO return.

I'd like to make it public how many crimes this gun registry has solved. Perhaps if people can see for themselves that it's a collossal waste of money, time, and personnel, they won't feel bad demanding it to go away.
