I know this is kind of off topic but it really isnt. With the movement of the field training officers we were lucky enough to get a goof from 025 in 015. I wont be a dickk and put his name on the blog but can anyone tell me what kind of goof this Marty L who came here from 025 is. He rides on jobs and tries taking them over. I only have 5 years on but one thing I know is that you dont take over other peoples jobs.
Am I over reacting or is this guy a moron? Please any information would be great.

Just to be clear about this plan:
My guess Jody couldnt reorganize his underwear drawer. any realignment that comes out of that office wil be crafted by Ted O Keefe and Mike Masters both Daleys city hall lackeys. That idea will be to save money and get more bodies back on the streets. All you inside suck upo clout babies look out they are coming for you.. Bureau of Startegis Accountability GONE. Why bother with that Bureau nobody is doing shit anymore anyway.. Complete reorganization of the Detective Division, Organized Crime and All inside spots. Look Out Gold Stars there wont be enough room for all of you anymore. At least you can fill the vacancies in the Lt. ranks. This is a direct action he can take now because of the budget crisis that will serve as the heat deflector. The Department will be totally different within 1 year. Look out the shit is still coming down. I guarantee you before it is over JODY will be under the bus. Get ready Jody its coming. Also people like Aunt Bea, Peterson, other deputies will get reduced in responsibility and titles, probably pay also, and answer to these new assistant Superintendents of Operations and Administration. Not a totally bad concept cut out alot of the fat on top, except when incompetents are named as these assistants Superintendents, more of the same.
Effective Jan 1st The 09 budget calls for the elimination of several ADS spots including street deputies, training academy,(will be run by a Captain) and several Chief and Deputy Chief spots. Several units will also now be run by a C/O rather than a Gold Star (including all units at Homan Square)
NO LT promotions in 09. A new list will be generated by Application/Resume
There will be a lot of changes coming over the next 3 months.
The Supt job will just be that of a figure head and Nick Roti will be running this department. Then we will see how much morale will go up. There are a lot of people that will respect what Roti brings to this department.

The message that morale is down has not gotten out. It is being trumped by the new spin by the department that it is because of inefficiency. The city is also saying that we are overstaffed after these big changes in the department and we are going to be shorted 200 more officers.
It order to counteract it, I believe the FOP has to hold a no confidence vote in Jody Weis. I mean, the mayor flatly denies there was low morale, so in turn, we have to prove that there is low morale and hold this vote. Bring some political fire to the Daley administration. More than what was already brought by the blog and the less work.
Off topic but...The scum times reported today , the city is preparing special police coverage for election day and the day after.
Obama wins, dancing in the streets with celebratory gunfire, bagdad style. If the supreme court kicks it to McCain on a recount of one state or another, look out ! JFED better order up some armored vehicles... i bet daley already has a special vehicle earmarked for hauling his honor about town !

My dentist told me several years ago to pretend I don't have any dental insurance. It is that bad. Same holds true today.
We will not get any better dental insurance. Period. Buy an Afflac supplemental dental policy.
Back when we got our first contract, the FOP, then lead by John Dineen, did not get health or dental insurance language put in the contract. Big mistake, it will never be in the contract now. Never.
If/when we get a raise, our co-pay will go up to offset (in the City's view) the raise. And/or coverage will decrease. That is the way it is.
There is nothing the FOP can do, it just isn't in the contract and never will be. The City feels our compensation is high enough that we can afford the high co-pays etc.
I am not defending this, I am just saying that is the way it is.
OT: Nice to see Operation Snake Charmer in full force today in 013/014th Dist. FBI/CPD rounding up the Spanish Cobras/Cease Fire "Violence Interrupters." Nice to see in the Suntimes, online version these fools are still getting money from the State and selling rocks. Hey 1400, you still want us to consult with them and have them come into rollcall?

It all depends on what kind of dental work you need done.if you need alot of work done, start now to get your 1500 for the year, before its too late. other thing is to see if your dentist is in the plan. I've heard thru rumors(and rumors is all it may be) is that were suppose to get a different dental plan.

If you are SERIOUS:
Get the PPO with Comp Dent and start using the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) if you need serious work done such as crowns and root canals because the insurance will not cover it 100%. Look in to it!
Happening today in 001. The entire building engineer staff was let go or laid off what ever you wanna call it. The civilian janitorial staff were also sent packing.

P.O. JZ just transferred to 019 after getting his job back. He is a very nice man and kind. But do not hire him or his construction company. He screwed many officers when he was back at callback. He did crappy unfinished work and then did police reports against the people who refused to pay him for unfinished work.

Manpower shortage is gonna get a WHOLE lot worse. Only 200 officers budgeted to be hired for all of 2009. After only 125 hired this year, that is a joke. If it takes us two hours to respond to your 911 call you know who to blame. But I guess it's okay because Weis says there are enough police and Daley says morale is good.

I don't buy it. The message is loud and clear but falling on deaf ears. They just don't want to hear it and really don't care about our concerns so they pretend that it doesn't exist. Morale is low because the job isn't what it once was and nobody want's to be second guessed into being fired or put in a prison cell. All they want is numbers, it's all they have ever wanted, it's all they understand. Many people have been promoted off our hard work because of the numbers we have provided them, it made them look good and looks are everything in this department but numbers do not translate into the truth. You can make numbers say whatever you want, it's a statistic. Well, we don't want to become statistics. The men and women who have been promoted by our numbers will not be there to help us when the numbers game goes bad and you are the accused. It's nothing but a broken record repeating the same old line; Numbers,numbers,numbers.Oh they know why Morale is down, they just don't care.

I sit here reading of all the changes that are going to take place, all the gold stars that are going to get dumped, and all the inside dollies that will be back on the street, but I haven’t heard anything about how the morale problem is going to get fixed. Yup, the top NYPD Officer will now make $73,000 I am making $75,000 as a 20 year CPD Patrol Officer and I still have one more longevity raise coming.
So they get this large raise, we still make more and we have been working without a contract for over a year. When ours is settled we will still make more.
That is not exactly what I would call doing things right. It is long overdue. If you look at all other big city police departments you will find we are at or very near the top in pay. And absolutely at the top in our rights and use of seniority etc. I know this does no good to sooth those screaming about how we are getting fucked or how the FOP supposedly does nothing but the fact is, we are better paid than most if not all other big city police departments.
