Just Say No

Durbin is a complete piece of shit for even considering this. Make Ryan serve the whole sentence. After all, he helped kill six kids by nurturing a corrupt system:
  • U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said today he is considering whether to ask President Bush to commute the corruption sentence of former Gov. George Ryan.

Bush, who is nearing the end of his term, recently granted a number of clemency petitions and Durbin was asked at a Springfield news conference whether he would support such an action for Ryan.

“I am evaluating that at this point,” Durbin said. “I have not taken any steps forward to send any kind of letter to the president. I’m going to make that decision at a later time.”

Besides sending a message to other jagoffs that Illinois politics is crooked beyond repair, we're really hoping to see two former governors behind bars concurrently. The crooked Illinois political combine really needs to be brought to the national forefront. Especially as the president-elect is a byproduct of it.

little dicky durbin should immediately start a mailing to his constituents outlining his plans to pardon "safe roads" ryan. and who should this task fall to but none other than "rosty" rostenkowski, a professional at mailing things for free. also get "big jim thompson" to draft the letter so it looks professional. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i love it when a plan comes together.

Durbin has been and will always be a POS.

Funny he floats this pardon idea after the election. Ryan needs to die in prison and when he takes his last breath I hope his last memory is how his corrupt self serving re-election strategy killed 6 children.

Durbin is the poster child for everything that is wrong with Illinois' corrupt government.

Maybe we need a new "prisoner substitution" program?

If little dickie feels so bad about big George, he could volunteer to do the rest of the time for him. Kinda like a prisoner swap.

No lackies, chumps or sycophants allowed. Only a pol of equal or greater value would be accepted for the trade.

Everyone on here should go to Durins website and write to him. If he asks for a pardon or commutation, he is making a mockery of the criminal justice system. Why bother spending millions of taxpayers dollars prosecuting and then just let him go? Maybe he should ask the Willis family? they will never see their six kids again, but George and Lura will see each other.

The drug smuggler who got a bundle from the taxpayers for being shot, and who has since been arrested for more smuggling? Amazing how crooks like Durbin, Ryan, and Pedro the smuggler stick together.

Here's hoping that POS rots in prison. I work for a suburban department that had an officer murdered in the line of duty. Asshole sentenced to death. Ryan sends us a response to our letter opposing his death row clearing, attempt to clear his filthy name. In his letter, he promises no blanket clemency, that each case will be reviewed on its merit. By the time we could say "bullshit!"..,he clears death row, leaving a widow and children to re-live their misery all over again. Thanks George, and I'm all broken up about your Club Med prison hardships...go to hell

Jailed border agents not on White House pardons list

By Eunice Moscoso | Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 11:48 AM

The White House announced another round of pardons this week and once again, former Border Patrol agents Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos did not make the cut.

Compean and Ramos are serving 12 and 11 years in prison, respectively for shooting a Mexican drug runner and trying to cover it up.

Supporters say that the agents were wrongly convicted for protecting the United States against a criminal illegal immigrant.

Lawmakers — including Sens. John Cornyn of Texas and Dianne Feinstein of California — have urged president Bush to pardon the agents.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a California Republican who has taken up the cause of Ramos and Compean in the House, was upset at the latest round of White House pardons.

“The fact that the president has neglected to free these men from their imprisonment while freeing drug dealers, embezzlers and other criminals is insulting to the American people,” he said. “For the sake of justice, let’s hope this is not the last round of pardons and commutations.

Then and ONLY then should ryan come home.

Let me get this straight,Lura Ryan is praying that her convicted felon ,ex-governor, husband gets out of jail by Christmas. I wonder how many times if ever she has prayed for the Willis Family, they paid the ultimate price for her husbands' thievery. It's really telling that she also has no conscience,no remorse because she lived high and mighty on the spoils from her crooked husband. No Pardon for George Ryan..Pray for the Willis Family this Christmas season.

If someone wants to hang Durbin, I'll buy the rope. For eight years he has been the loyal opposition to President Bush's policies (Bush should say fu, but Ryan is a republican). Now it's Durbin's time to deliver with B.O. in power.

Ryan is an old time pol, who got caught. He should remain in prison to be a reminder or statement that our pol's should be squeaky clean.

SCC, you sound just like the Mainstream Media outlets. You make it sound as if Ryan had a printing press just rolling off phony driver's licenses and accepting envelopes full of cash. That tragedy with those kids would of happened if the driver had the "good driver" of the year award. As I understand it, a piece of metal fell off the truck and caused this horrendous accident.

This citizen is NO fan of Ryan. He ought to be in prison for clearing death row and further screwing up our pitiful justice system that has all of us fighting to keep killers sentenced to lenghty prison terms in prison for lengthy periods of time. BUT; I think blaming him for the deaths of the six kids across the cheddar curtain is wrong. That trucker did not cause that accident because of his lack of driving skills. The hunk of truck trailer fell off and the van following the truck ran it over, puncturing the gas tank. The best trucker on the road could have been driving that rig and if it wasn't noticed or maintained by the mechanics, the accident still would have occurred. The point is the truck driver didn't cause the accident in my view. Ryan is a liar, crook, a thief, an incompetent bumbling fool yes; but he is not responsible for those deaths in my view anyway. He should do his time I agree but I cannot hold him responsible for horrible deaths of those children.
This is where I differ with the lying, cheating, incompetent bumbling media.

Ryans people did have printing press's rolling off fake drivers licenses for big fat envelopes of money. That is why he is in prison. That's only one of many serious, dangerous criminal acts he committed on a daily basis. Ryan was and is nothing more than a nefarious contributing member of syndicated crime in Chicago, Illinois and the country. The day he steps out of prison the crimes he commits will exacerbate.

I heard the Mayor say Ryan was his friend. He may have made a mistake, but they were still friends. Someone should explain to the Mayor that making a mistake, and creating your entire political career on corruption, are two different things.
PS: Many of the Mayor's friend have been convicted of major crimes.

Daley was referring to the mistake Ryan made in getting caught.

These two are on the same page regarding the other thing you mentioned.
