Tonight is the night! Teams of Traffic Aides and tow trucks fan out across the City, concentrating on Western Avenue, residential corridors and taverns in the hunt for revenue.
Seeing as how Shortshanks needs the money, balanced with the hiring slowdown and impending layoffs, the over/under will be set at 103 vehicles for the evening. Hopefully, the papers or Department of Revenue post their totals in the next day of so.

If you see cars parked on snow routes run the plates and wake the owners if they live nearby. It will generate some good will for the police and take blood money out of daleys pocket. I do it every year and always get a positive response.

So if I parked my car on the street legally and their was no snow on the street. I go in my house and while I catch a couple hours sleep before work it snows lets say 3". The city can tow my car and I have to pay. Fucking bullshit.

I parked on a snow route a few years ago on Nov 30. There was only one sign on a long block. tough shit for me I guess. FOP sticker visible etc. Copper from 023 wrote the ticket and the thugs towed it.
My new Toyota SUV had $1,300 in damage when I went to retrieve it. I got the fine knocked down a bit and then had to wait months for the damage claim and finally got paid by the city.
So, they towed my SUV, they got my parking ticket money and half the tow and it only cost them an investigation and $1,300.00.
This on a clear Dec 1 that was 50 degrees and no moisture.
I am finished sticking it in citizens' asses. Now I stick it in the City's ass each and every chance I get. And I get a lot of chances.

Actually it doesn't have to snow at all on the main streets. It's called a Winter parking ban, not a snow parking ban. After Dec 1, no parking AT ALL after 3 a.m.

NO! We citizens hate people like YOU who want to break it off in our asses, enforcing bullshit laws when you were given the holy gift of DISCRETION. Citizens like me are happy to have you around, and realize your utility in time of need, but respectfully request you, as an instrument of the government, do your very best to leave us alone. I pay my taxes and expect service when I call for it. I expect you to kill bad guys. I expect you to support my right as a citizen to own a gun and use it in defense of myself, home, and family (maybe even you someday). Everything else that happens behind the scenes isn't my business, but I'd hope that the working copper on the street actually gives a shit. I sympathize that with what you see every day, it may become difficult to care about people that hate the police, but having this attitude only makes it worse.
You'll notice the attitude about cops changes by neighborhood. I live in Edison Park, and the brotherhood is warm here. Speaking of BS tickets, I got a front license plate ticket for the first time ever in 017. It was on a rental, so not my problem. My vehicles always have both plates.

They also added a shit load of meters in the area bounded by, Roosevelt to 14th street, Ashland to Damen. The best part is, there are less than 10 buildings on all of the land in this area. Who is the city expecting to use these meters, seeing as the building boom is DOA?
