ChicagoCop.com Website

Missing In Action.

Anyone have any info? We know they were banned from Department computers because they actually got information to coppers in a usable format. That sin is enough to condemn you to a foot post at Inland Steel.

But did the Department force them to shut down? Any info is appreciated.

UPDATE: He's baaaaack. Apparently, it was technical in nature.

Website Seeks Allegations of Improper Hiring

The Cook County sheriff's office has set up a Web site to collect allegations of improper hiring.

The effort is part of Sheriff Tom Dart's settlement in September of a long-running anti-patronage lawsuit brought by attorney Michael Shakman.

The sheriff's office is being monitored by a retired county judge to ensure that hiring is free of political influence.

Clifford Meacham also will consider claims by people who say they weren't hired or promoted because of politics.

In previous patronage settlements, those found to be victims of political hiring have received cash awards.

The site can be found at sheriffshakman.com.

Maybe a copyright infringement beef?

Wasn't there some nonsense about the t-shirt logos awhile back when they changed the logo?

I just went on the site chicagocop.com ... it appears to be up and running.

I heard they had to remove the department directives from their site. They have a note on their web site that states:

"Department Directives will be off line indefinitely due to copyright issues with the Police Department. They will be back in the future with links to the intranet location for each Directive. Directives will no longer be available from a computer other than one with Intranet access. Sorry for any inconvenience."

I met Churchro only once in 011 and bought one of his field guides.

In my opinion, it's the best handy reference for street cops that I have seen since since I came on the job in 1985.

I mentioned to the Captains and Lieutenants here that should develop a companion field guide for supervisors, providing quick reference to the types of stuff they have to deal with on a routine or semi-routine basis. The initial feedback was that it seemed like a good idea. I haven't had the opportunity to talk to Churchro about it yet. Who knows... maybe he is already working on it.

I have no problem supporting the efforts of those that make a positive contribution in making improvements, or developing systems, ideas, and end-user solutions to do our jobs better and easier.

From what I have seen, the field guide and web site look very comprehensive and professional.

Great Job!

Interesting>>>

The Department recently came out and reminded us all that we are not to release (non-published, i.e. unspinned, uncooked, unaltered)statistical information to any outside agency.

Headquarters has to keep up the wall of lies to protect the Empirer.

The website was off line due to technical difficulties. It was brought to my attention last night by a fellow P.O. at work and I have fixed the problem. The site is fully functional once again. Enjoy!

Thanks again for all your support.

Peterson Steven Deputy Superintendent Dept Of Police $163,680 04/03/72 City of Chicago

Brust Peter Deputy Superintendent Dept Of Police $163,680 02/19/08 City of Chicago

Why would anyone care what a person did before they were married? Junk Yard dog fests have been over for years. We all had fun. Some just had more fun than others. Jealous that she turned you down?

Was a big huge affair in '86. That's a long time ago. So what? Like there aren't a million cheating coppers on this job? And I'm sure hubby knows all about it--not news.

It couldn't have been that big of a deal if a lot us didn't hear about it. I agree with you though... who really cares? Live and let live.

It was a huge affair. Hundreds of cops citywide. Guthrie ran it with Summer Mobile cops. Fundraiser at the end of summer. Beer Trucks, grills, stage with DJ etc. Nice fun party. The last year it got so big White Tower said it had to end. On the lake after the beach closed. Fun and organized. There was no trouble and a good time was had by all. If you and your friends didn't hear about it, I've got bad news for you because there were cops from Boston there.

Wires crossed...

Didn't hear about it... was about this "affair" thing.

As for the summer "festivities"... SMF lakefront parties, Junk Yard Dog, etc... I never missed one. Those WERE the days... lol.

There were a few memorable "tail gater" parties back in the day as well...

One I recall involved three sergeants (M-F-M) who put on quite the show... lol.
