Was This Guy CPD?

  • While the sudden suspension of CSU Police Chief Dexter Yarbrough last month came as another shocking challenge facing a transitioning administration, several campus officers say his absence comes as a breath of fresh air to the department -- putting what several independent sources called his "reign of terror" on hiatus.

Listing numerous accusations of improprieties ranging from falsifying police documents, to mandating the special treatment of student athletes, to teaching students illegal police tactics, several timid police officers say the President's Office had plenty of alarming evidence to take action long ago but turned a blind eye to a handful of alleged abuses of power.

  • In one classroom lecture in spring 2008, Yarbrough advised his students -- including many aspiring police officers -- to provide illicit drugs to informants as payment for information.

  • In a later lecture, the chief, who was a Chicago policeman prior to entering academia, said sometimes excessive and violent force against a suspect is a "reality of law enforcement."
Those who can't - teach. What a mope.

his class room lectors, sound about the same as the black chuch I would go to.

I would of spent the whole class laughing my ass off.

"In another recording, Yarbrough alluded that sometimes police should cut corners because 'if you want the police to play fair, the police can play fair. OK. But watch out when you go out at night, and watch your crime rates go up. The police can play fair. Do you really want the police to do that?'"

Mmmmmm...sounds suspiciously familiar.

Apparently Moron is as Moron does...

The only thing that is true is that yes, sometimes physical violence is all that is understood or respected, if you have worked any amount of time either west or south, you already know that...

Not sure who this man is, but I believe some things are better left unsaid, especially when you are the working police (1%er's); let alone a boss. Or, maybe, he just doesn't give a flying f*ck and is simply telling it how it is, and the message hurts the precious townfolk ears. I can't fault him for his honesty. But either way, I'm sure there is more to this story...

This is just another example of why Chicago State University has had their accreditation under review on more than one occasion in recent time. Is it a surprise that many public school teachers possess a CSU diploma? I think not. That place is a good example of what happens when the inmates run the asylum. No student left behind mean anything to you?

Colorado State University (CSU) is situated on the front slope of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Chicago State University (also CSU) is unrelated to this story.

After UW-Madison, it appears that Yarbrough favored gigs at "party schools". Breaking up out-of-hand keggers sure beats 79th & Halsted.
Much better "scenery" too. I'm not talking about the Rockies.

First off, this is off topic, secondly, I am a civilian.

To all those civilians, comically and commonly known as trolls, please listen up...

Etiquette, Identify yourself as a civilian when posting. Limit your postings, this is a cop site, if you want your own site, go at it. Enemies of SCC, Friends of SCC, Dumdasses who ask stupid questions about SCC, whatever.
Nothing wrong with an occasional posting, clearly marked from an outsider, especially when supportive. I am sure it would be appreciated and of course you cop wannabes are usually easily spotted by the real thing, so this ain't for you...cause you won’t listen anyways.

Second point, don't ask stupid questions. Most questions are the result of laziness. Use the internet to try and figure out what's being said or figure out that it really isn't that damn important to your life to know so you won't bother to take the time to know.
For instance, I had no idea about the whole Burger King Commmander thing. So within a few clicks I found out what that was all about, then a few more I found where she probably got the dumb idea. EB, figure it out using the internet and simple deductive reasoning, or understand that you aren't going to be in the know on everything and live with it.

A few general comments:
This site has some of the funniest shit on it. (asshat cracks me up everytime)
This site has some of the best stuff politically about the city.
This site can be very sad, and brutal in its honesty, and eye opening, and…

If you don’t like it, go somewhere else !

Alright, I am stepping off my soapbox on the internet equivalent of Bughouse Square.

Thanks Officers for the news and entertainment.

That's what these demented yuppie liberal college students need is for someone to tell them how things really are and bring them down to reality. They hide out in their classrooms and then off to their coffee shops discussing their professor's opinions who only got a doctorate in the field because they stayed in school to dodge the Viet Nam draft. There is no field trip to the ghetto to show them the blunt reality of crime or the world. Nowadays everyone has balls behind closed doors but everyone becomes pc in public because they are affraid of the recourse. I don't know this guy and never heard of him, but someone has to wake these people up and explain to them that the law isn't cut and dry, things aren't as pretty as you see on television. I agree sometimes things are better left unsaid, but it's also nice to come across a person that has the stones to tell it like it is. We need more people like that, especially ones with a gold star in their pocket.

Dexter worked in 006 tact. in early '90's and was a coward. His partner at the time, Milton S., killed an armed offender with a shotgun in the 8500 block of south Loomis. Dexter hid in the bushes in front of the house while Milton S. chased the offender into the house an terminated him. He was put on the tact team by Auggie Sylvain after all the workers got dumped.

Ahh good old Dexter X, that's what he called himself back in the early 80's at WIU. I always wondered what happened to this goof. I guess when he got on CPD and CSU he had to start using his slave name again. 3 memorable goofs from WIU, Dexter X, Mark Allen and Roosevelt Watkins. Roosevelt Watkins now a South Side Rev. and Mark Allen one of Jesse Jackson's shake down artist/poverty pimps. Hey Mark bet you never put that arrest for that vending machine on your resume. WIU must be really proud. At least Dexter went on and got a legit job.

His partner, CH was the most corrupt cop who ever got away with it. CH later drove a boss. (relative) Rumor had it that the related boss wanted CH where he could keep an eye on him. They were tact partners til the feds tore their cribs up and the Supt. made them get a divorce.

SSC, I generally agree with most that you say. Until you go ahead and say something so incredibly stupid as "Those who can't - teach."

That being said, I have a quote for you.

Milton is now in the marine unit. and is still a crazy mother f****R.

He told the superintendent to go fuck off once, while at HQ. he is still racking up CR numbers. loose cannon should have been fired a long time ago. but always plays the race card.

funny thing is, outside of this job he is a nice guy.

Do your homework
All universities have had their accreditation under review more than once.
If you want to talk about mediocre schools, think Calumet College, Lewis University, all of the city colleges, even the ones on the north side.
You obviously attended one of those universities, other wise you would'nt have made such a boneheaded assumption.
