Oh No! Snow!

  • Bitter cold temperatures and wind chill values are expected to move out of the Chicago area Friday, but a snow storm that could blanket the city with up to eight inches of snow is expected to hit late Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, including Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will counties, that will begin at 11 p.m. Friday and remain in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.

We hope everyone has put together stocks of jerky and broth and emptied store shelves of milk, water and dry goods. It's the end of the freaking world don't you know?

Thank god Chicagoans haven't become such weather candyasses as the newscasters have been this year. There will be some snow. The mayor won't move it, plow it or salt it because it's the weekend and he isn't paying any weather related overtime. No big deal.

So, you're saying business as usual.

Me, I'll get up half an hour earlier tomorrow, well, actually, today - and shovel the walk and clear off the car before work. No big deal.

It's just after midnight and not one flurry so far. Won't be disappointed if it comes, or if it doesn't. Enjoy.

The building temperature variances are minor at best, and it never snows inside. Plus, if the old lady knows what's good for her, she'll be out shoveling any accumulation first thing in the morning - after my hot breakfast is on the table. Life is good on this end, kids!

I hope the city plows DON'T come down my street. All they do is screw it up. I will hire the plow drivers from Park Ridge. At least they know how to plow the correct way. If I was a plow driver from Streets and San, I would hide my head in shame after seeing how the plow snow.

Possibility of snow, chance of of snow, expecting snow, and the best one was from channel 5 the other night "a BIT of SNOW"......years ago when John Coleman was the weather man he hit the nail on the head, if he said bring an umbrella...it rained and when he said, "2" of snow coming our way" that's what we had 2" of snow. These guys cann't detect sh%t in their mustache.

You're my hero for properly training your bride. Mine is currently lounging on the bed in a conundrum over which nail polish to wear today.

I LOVE it that ozzie "hugo chavez" guillen keeps mouthing off about the Cubs! Sorry, Hugo, that no one in this city, or any other gives a shit about the "other" sox! And it may have been 101 years since the Cubs last championship, but people still remember that rather than your watered down bullshit run a few years back! Face it, hillbillies, YOUR TEAM WILL ALWAYS BE A DISTANT SECOND IN THIS CITY!!! No one cares! how can Hugo be making comments about the Cubs during spring training??? Concentrate on your own bullshit team, loser! Oh, and Im sure Hugo hates the snow!

WTF, figures, they have record ice flows way up north... This is really going to put a damper in the "Global Warming" scam, they'll have to bailout Al Gore and his carbon credit business next.

off topic -

Who is the new FOP field Rep. going to be?

Odds:

Joe Butney 5 - 1
Odds on favorite. FOP company guy. Patrol Division.

Jim Bailey 10 - 1
Nice guy. Well liked. Just went back to Patrol.

Ed King 30 -1
Det. should not take a patrol spot.
But he has wanted the spot for a while!

Kevin Graham 50 -1
Foot guy, never worked in a busy district.

WHO IS THE FAVORITE? ROUND AND ROUND MARK'S MIND GOES AS THE FOP GOES NO ONE KNOWS.

Regardless who Donahue picks the FOP will face great challenges as to who will be able to lead the group in the future.

Good Luck to all candidates.

I would be shocked if it is not one of the previously referenced guys.

Well after properly training my husband, breakfast is made for me, the snow on my car is removed, and with the (hubby's) credit card in hand, I'm off to go shopping while he is home doing the dishes. Life is better for me!

A very happy CPD wife.

Ever notice that the newscasters always ask the weatherman for warmer temperatures on the weekend like they have this magically way of getting it, but you never see the weatherman asking the newscasters for a double homicide?

Why is that?

Some weather forcasters act like it has never been cold or snowed in Chicago before, the way they get worked up about a few inches of snow. They couldn't have grown up in Chicago, probably transplants from south. This winter isn't too bad. Sheesh.

re: the M-4 guy. If youu decide to buy one, might i suggest spending the extra few dollars and having it chambered for .308 Armalite in Genseco Illinois can custom make you one in about a day. Good price and great warranty. Pitch the m-4 in .223 garbage and barrels wear down too fast. Mines a .308 and so is the AR-15. Register THIS.
