Daley Tantrum

In light of the mayor's actions in derailing the negotiations, it becomes easier and easier to believe stories like this:
  • Embarrassment is what gets under the Mayor's skin. I am unaware if this is out but the day of no confidence was taken very serious, so serious that he was throwing stuff around and yelling like a 2 year old.
This isn't the first time we've heard of the mayor acting like a petulant child when he doesn't get his way. The stories of his tantrums and hissy-fits pop up with astonishing regularity for someone who's supposed to be running a world class city with dreams of hosting an Olympics. But as Shortshanks has never held a job that actually involved earning money by the sweat of labor, we can see where his spoiled rotten attitude would shine through under the mildest of pressures.

So how do we increase the pressure?

How to increase the pressure? INFORMATIONAL PICKETING when the Olympic Committee is here.

Don't bother trying to meet them at the airport; they are escorted and whisked away by limo.

Think more about the route to and from the hotel and the front of the hotel itself. The media will be doing live shots in front of the hotel, pointing to where the dignitaries are staying. A few picket signs in the scene might be - um - bothersome to the mayor.

Maybe send family members? This way you won't be identified and singled out by his honor later on.

The Mayor should be called Sweaty because every time I see him on TV or in person he is always sweating. Either he needs some AXE or the pressure is mounting.

SCC Asked: "So how do we increase the pressure?"

How about a NO CONFIDENCE vote on him by our union, CFD's union, teachers union, streets and san, plumbers.... how about ALL OF US, EVERY CITY WORKER tell it like it is.

Granted, there will be a lot of political hacks that vote to save the spot "god" gave them, but....

aaahhhh, it will never happen!

The other would be showing the Olympic Committee what this politically corrupt city is REALY LIKE!

Lil Dick will really blow a gasket then!

Aaahhhhh, that won’t happen either. The political hacks that will be driving them around town are too fucking afraid of driving a beat car the next day.

How about 50 million bumper stickers apppearing on everything all over Chicago - stark black lettering on a Day-Glo yellow background (specify "non-removable" adhesive backing) -- proclaiming the simple, easily observable truth?

Everywhere you look --

MAYOR DALEY IS CLINICALLY INSANE

Bumper stickers, hell. Little stickers to put on envelopes containing your property tax payment. Coffee mugs, T-shirts, refrigerator magnets. Billboards overlooking the major expressways...

MAYOR DALEY IS CLINICALLY INSANE

Airplanes trailing advertising banners up and down the lakefront on a summer day -- say during Taste of Chicago and the Air And Water Show -- where millions of people can look up and read that --

MAYOR DALEY IS CLINICALLY INSANE

We increase the pressure by picketing the Olympics - number one thing to piss him off.

Question is, who is going to organize it? The FOP will not, so SCC, will you?

If you post it - we will come. If I recall correctly the bus trip for Mette was basically organized by SCC, but as always, not everyone came out.

Time to put up or shut up my fellow members in blue... if we want to sock this cocks right in the mouth, we NEED to picket when the Olympic crew gets here.

What say you SCC - can you post something and organize it? Maybe put a countdown timer each day..x amount of days to go, etc, etc...

The animosity and hostility in the police contract talks does not have to be that way. Most police officers are reasonable people and know what the current economic situation in the world is. We don't want the world and sky. Just a fair offer.

It is frustrating when we see the teachers get 20+% quickly. And the aldermen get 2 6% raises when the city is in a financial crisis that they caused.

And the city is crying "poor, poor, poor" while at the same time it is squandering money on wrought iron fences, flower pots, hired trucks and most of all, an Olympic Games bid that no one really wants because we know that we will never see any tickets (they are already divvied out to the insiders)but will get stuck with the bill.

Shortshanks wants to break the unions so he can more money to steal and squander. It starts with the police, then the fire. One we are broke, the entire city work force falls in line.

If the city can't afford to pay for its basic services then it should take a pass on throwing a big party that is out of its reach.

Easy... King Shithead doesn't give a shit if you try make HIM look bad, he only gets pissed off when you make someone HE PROMOTED look bad.

Daley only cares about the power he swings around like a baby. His greatest power is taking care of other people who in turn take his control out into the rest of the world, LIKE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. This is why people taken care of by Daley are shoved into spots around the country and into federal posts, in order to keep people in key positions to derail or prevent further investigation into Daley himself.

He doesn't care what you post about his lame ass, it's tearing down the useless titsuckers he promotes and takes care of that piss him off.

Evidently, King Shithead had great plans for his Fedfuck Weiss, and this embarassment makes it more difficult to push him out into the world with Daley's scum on his feet for protection. I'm assuming a higher federal job or something where Fedfuck can keep Daley safe.

It's exactly how the mob works, think Daley = Mob and you stay on the right track.

#2 Lawsuit demanding the pension be fully funded as required by law.

#3 Pickets in Washington Park during the Olympic bigshots visit.

#4 No confidence vote pertaining to the Mayor and Weis and Stroger and Quinn and Madigan and Cullerton and Obama. The FOP should mail ballots to every member with a return date prior to the Olympic bigshots visit. The Democrats might then get a hint of our dissatisfaction with their policies!

Hmmm. To elaborate a bit on the homeless idea. Methinks that while having bus-loads of homeless follow the mayor around would be useful, there might be more impact if there could somehow be a "tent city" or "refrigerator box city" in Washington Park the day of the IOC visit. As the earlier poster pointed out, it IS a public park, and if his honor didn't like it, exactly who would clear the park for him?

Or how about a bunch of ODPOs and their families "living" in the park on that day? Out of the tents and refrigerator boxes, of course. The implication would be that living like that is what the mayor has reduced us to. Picket signs would help drive home the point.

Could traffic around the park be mysteriously tied up on the day of the visit. You know, unavoidable traffic stops or pool cars that mysteriously stop running in the center lane?

No matter what, however, do NOTHING that would endanger public safety. That would make us as bad as he is . . .

Not true, we will have retiree health coverage. The question will be how much will it cost.

The FOP has a proposal in the current contract talks that would guarantee health coverage and set the amount each officer will pay and tie that amount to what the officer paid during their last year of service.

It was a baseball bat.

The kid, Patrick Daley, also got arrested in 018 for stealing a stanchion from the rope line of some club in 018. This happened in 1999 or 2000. He was arrested at his apartment and hauled into 018. Naturally calls were made and the club decided not to press charges and the young Patrick Daley was released and all was made well. What a surprise.

It rated only a small news item in the papers.

Anyone from 018 remember this incident?

Daley NEVER INTENDED to give the F.O.P. a 16% raise for this contract. I think he would provide 2% per year AT BEST. When the F.O.P. asked for 25%, he portrayed them as greedy bastards to the voters and withdrew his ficticious 16% raise from the table.

Don't forget, unemployment is at 8.1% and many workers in the private sector won't get any raises this year.

In the court of Public Opinion, Daley just "Bitch-slapped" the F.O.P.

To my fellow officers, this move by mayor daley tells us one thing,it does not matter if you are black, white, male or female, the city hates us all equally. We need to make a untied front. I believe we can show the collective power of the blue shirt by doing these various things. 1. No parkers,no movers or anything that will generate revenue for this city. Mayor Daley could not care less about how many people we arrest. The mayor has only one concern and that is to generate revenue for the city. Why do you think, him and the aldermen are looking for private security guards to write tickets? Money! Plain and simple. 2. Let us generate paper on everything because according to our general orders, whenever a crime is alleged by any citizen,we must document it in a general offense report. Everyone knows these bosses love to play games with crime stats and if we document everything, this will put these self serving bosses on the hot seat and it will show the public a basic truth. The crime rate is out of control and we need more cops on the street. 3. Let us show our basic power in numbers and make a conscious choice to spend our money outside the city. Think about it! If 9500 0fficers would make their purchases outside the city, this would hit mayor daley in the pocket book. The officers on the south side, make a 20 minute trip to indiana and buy your food, gas and all your big ticket items over there. To the officers up north, make a 20 minute trip to dupage or any of the other collar counties and make your purchases there. Ladies and Gentlemen,if we took the time to stand united, our strength would be amazing. If we stood united, this will show mayor daley that we are a force to be taken seriously and maybe we would be treated with respect come contract time. This petty infighting we engage in benefits no one except the mayor and all the other police haters in this city. Lets stand united and lets show our power in numbers.

Protests During Chicago 2016’s IOC Inspection
Tuesday, March 17, 2009 12:11pm EDT GB Staff
Font size:

The Chicago Tribune reports an anti-Olympics group plans to hold a rally on April 2 when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) evaluation commission arrives in Chicago to inspect its bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
The group No Games Chicago said it expects 2,000 people to attend the rally at 5 p.m. at Federal Plaza.

Bob Quellos, an organizer for the recently formed group, said he has obtained a permit for use of the plaza and he also plans a protest march from Federal Plaza to the Aon Center when the Olympic bid team is based. Quellos said he is waiting for a parade permit from the city.

Supporters of No Games Chicago reportedly believe money that would be spent on the Games should be used instead for basic needs such as housing and schools, especially during tight economic times. Quellos said, "we think it's the wrong priority for the city with the city crumbling".

Maybe we could give them a little work to carry signs with information about homeless and unemployed and the run down city. It is a rough idea but something to build on.
The mayor has already declared a recession and we have no money. How could we come up with money for games?

All officers just need to take thier time and do thier job correctly. Take your time find legal parking when on a call. Let all the callers explain thier problem, then give them the proper police report. Take your time and write a clear report. Tour the area for a possible offender before coming clear for the next job. Take your two personells and your proper lunch. Do a park check and a school check (I advise staying away from actual students they are apparently dangerous). If you get a chance a bus check is always nice. A car wash and top off the tank for the next watch. It gets you through the day. Hand in a bunch of reports,(crime rate goes up if you dont 19p everything). remember district realignments are coming the districts with the most crime get more bodys. P.S. Start downing the crap cars it is unsafe and silly to drive these pieces of crap if they dont have a pool car stop and get a paper or bring a book to motor maintence with you.

It’s hard to maintain a dynasty with the Feds all over, friends indicted and business associates, not to mention “your” city is collapsing right before your very eyes… You don’t one minute to the next, am I going to get a call to surrender or are they going to pull a Blago on me…
That kind of pressure is intense, I can just imagine, then again, I guess I can’t.

How about showing up outside the news windows, channel 5 -7 with signs, this will surely be seen by the city of chicago resdients, also what about having a crew follow Daley around, when he goes into a joint to eat, just walk the sidewalks with signs, his security guys have no balls, what are they going to do, take awy your signs, just have someone there filming it, they will shut down fast, We have the right to informational picketing, but of course I don't know why FOP, PBPA and the others just don't organize something, it's obvious that the City Fucks us over and over, let's start the strongarming back at them, this pussy ass attitude is not putting money in our pockets, If they would have begun contracts talks earlier then June 0f 2007, we wouldn't be in this spot, Unions do really SUCK, /

Want to increase the pressure?? We NEED to increase the pressure. Great idea regarding rallying when the Olympic Committee is hear. It is his obesssive dream.

Here is another idea, but we need to finally stand together and work as one. The only other time I have seen us pull off being united was the ticket strike of the late 80's (and belive me that rattled some cages). This is neither a "job action", nor anything that can be construed as unfair or a "slowdown".

Here's the idea: Take a weekend, and on Friday and Saturday everyone who can, grabs some sort of (legitemate, legal, albeit lame ass) pinch near the end of their tour. Lock up anyone breaking any law. Can you imagine if we get even half of every watch for six tours submitting overtime slips??

I know, eveyone wants to go home, or out, especially on the weekend, but we are fighting for our livlihood and families here. One weekend of a few hours of O.T. I guarantee you this will set off fireworks.

Then the icing on the cake: King Richard wants tickets/revenue?? OK, on Sunday we go out and write every double parker, bus stop parker, fire hydrant parker, and cross walk parker by all the "houses of worship" in the city. Think Shortshanks will catch some heat from the "revs"??? And what can any of them say publicly??? "We are entitled to break the law" from the hypocrytical religious...what about Joe citizen who gets ticketed for double parking for 5 minutes to run into the store, but it's ok for dozens to double park for hours during services???

And what does the king say...I condoen, endorse, order officers to overlook the law for this group of people. Maybe the guy who so zealously seeks seperation of church and state would like to take this one to court...police allowing violations because the mayor says don't write tickets because of pressure from religious groups.

The thing is we have to pull this off together. One or two or three districts can't pull this off.

The mayor has thrown down the gauntlet. We must respond as THE POLICE respond...as a whole, as one, united against what is wrong!!!

DESTROY DALEY'S DREAM ... ........................................
NO OLYMPICS

3 STEP PLAN

1. Gather intel on the olympic committee's visit.
2. Strategically plan picketing
locations, demonstrations and for example:
expressway traffic jam from the airport ( multiple cars breaking down simultaneously)
3. Execute this plan

We are the experts on this stuff, we only need to come together and do it. The FOP will never do it. We need to start an underground union the anti-fop, and I say we vote no confidence in Mark Donohoe.

The media should ask the Mayor, why is it you and the alderman get such large raises when you claim we are in such tough times? Why is it you give contracts with nice raises to the labor unions and teacher unions, but time and time again you treat your poilce and firemen so poorly? Why do you hide large sums of money, sell off city assets, and only attempt to fix the areas of the city that the olympic committee will see? How can you cry broke, but then fight so hard for the olympics? The media should start asking these easy questions.

This can be done, it just has to be done smart. Unless EVERYONE goes out to do it, which would be the 'right' way to do this.

Since you can't get two coppers to agree on a lunch location, I'm thinking you probably can't get five thousand to show up en masse at a demonstration.

Hence, do it SMART if you can't do it 'right'.

Every four years the following wards are 90 percent or better for this guy- 41st, 36th, 45th, 13th, 23rd, 39th, 47th, 40th, 19th and so on. Theses wards represent 75% of the CPD at least so we are consistently voting for him. There has to be an alternative out there and we must go out and work for him or her and help remove this little shit from his perch. This just sucks.

SHUT DOWN THE OLYMPIC BID

Say ‘NO’ to the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid
Thursday, April 2, 2009

The International Olympic Committee will be in town from April 2-8th to evaluate
Chicago’s potential as a Host City for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Let them know
that Chicago 2016 does not speak for the people of Chicago. Let them know that
Chicagoans have other priorities. Let them hear your voice.

Naturally calls were made and the club decided not to press charges and the young Patrick Daley was released and all was made well. What a surprise.

It rated only a small news item in the papers.

Anyone from 018 remember this incident?
*****
Sure do. The place was Tequila Roadhouse on Wells. He did more than steal the stanchion, but the owner liked having a liquor license so he didn't pursue the case.
