It Was a Good Run

They did better than anyone expected.

They went farther than many dreamed possible.

Rocky has shown a willingness and a desire to make the right moves and difficult decisions that were all too often quashed by his father.

They are two, maybe three moves from a Stanley Cup appearance. They might be four moves away from a Cup win.

As someone pointed out, even the Bulls had to make a few runs at Pistons before the glory years. This is a team on the verge of those types of years.

This Blackhawks team reminds me of the Chicago Bulls the year before they made their championship run. The 'Hawks are a good team; they'll win the cup next year.

The goaltender issue has to be addressed by Tallon. He made a huge mistake paying Huet and will be stuck with him for some time paying big bucks. Let's hope Crawford is the next Hasek. Say goodbye to the 'Bulin wall'

Quenville may be a very good coach but he's not a good playpff coach. he's not the answer to get to the next level. We need a superstar forward who's been there to show Toews and Kane how to get to the next level and maybe Scotty Bowman can take the reigns for a couple years. The last two losses were not Huets fault so lets keep him and Khabby (for less money).
We have exciting times ahead.
THANK YOU ROCKY!!!!
LETS GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!!

too bad khabby got injured-- i thought he gave the hawks a better chance to win than huet. anaheim almost knocked off detroit--- the hawks would have beaten the ducks and we would have been in the cup. the ducks could have never matched our speed. the red wings are a superb team who know how to capitalize on errors--- look for the hawks to go deep again in 09/10.

12:08AM - Decades? The cubs haven't won in over a 'Century' Hope that's the last time I see the Blackhawks compared to them. 1961 was a long time ago but hope the Cup drought ends in 2010! Go Blackhawks!

Its obvious that the Hawks have enough raw talent to make it this far..they just need the experience to make immediate adaptation to different Offenses. Detroit has this Chameleon (sp?) like ability to immediately see what style of offense is coming at a particular time and individual players make ready for that style. The Hawks have to gain that foresight and have the abilityy to close of those sniper-like passing lanes at the blue lines. Some of those gioals could have been avoided if the Defensemen would defend the entire zone rather than 4 feet of slab on either side of the net.

They did great...youth will mature...look at the Oiler dynasty in the 80's.probably matured to be the BEST team to ever step on the ice.

Great Season!

Along with the previous posters comments, the Hawks organization really appreciates the fans!

I had an issue with one of the ticket outlets regarding a purchase for one of the Western Conference games and on a Friday I wrote a letter to Rocky about how I thought the ticket outlet was doing a dis-service to the Hawks in how they operated.

The next Monday I get a call from the Organization about my letter!!

It is so nice to see that kind of management.

We could use a guy like Rocky as mayor.

HUET MVP of game 5 by a longshot.

Unfortunately next years expectations could exceed their ability to win the conference.

With Kabby gone there will be a hole in the net. They also need a big physical center who can score 30 goals not Paulsy who can't win a face off and is slower than Keenan getting another job.

On D Hama Yama Jarmalson could be trade bait. He's not bad and he's young but he looked out of place all playoffs.

I'm here all week for questions.

And I am sick of hearing morons yelling Detroit sucks because as much as I hate the Wings they are a great hockey team.

I LOOK SO FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR. I THINK THAT THIS YOUNG TEAM WILL RISE AND BECOME CHAMPIONS. I BET WHEN THEY WIN THE CUP YOU WON'T SEE THEIR FANS TEARING UP THE CITY.

If anyone wants him...trade Campbell for a MALKIN sized or a Jerome Iginla type player forward.

Khabibulin's days are numbered and that will free up $.

Huet? unsure of him for the cup win but he did look great in yesterdays game.

Need another Seabrook type defensemen with some tenure and better speed than Walker or Barker.

(Sheldon Souray...?)

Awesome season ...Looking to next year! Thx! Rocky W.!

It was a great game to watch. Huet played like a warrior poet. Those kids should be proud. A couple more years together and they will clean house.

The Cup will be ours!!!

Thank you Chicago Blackhawks for such an exciting season. The spirit of hockey is back!

Thank you Rocky Wirtz for bringing the franchise back into the living rooms and hearts of another generation of Chicagoans.

I know I'm way late in responding to this thread, but I really wish the Blackhawks could have gone all the way.

Y'all should be proud of them - they were fantstic.

And I know the majority will probably want Pittsburgh to win, but I'm loving the Wings kicking their ass. I hate everything about the Penguins, especially Crosby (the bastard is great player).

The Penguins destroyed the Flyers, so naturally I want them destroyed.

It would be great next year to see the Hawks & Flyers in the Cup Finals.

Anyhoo - you all be safe out there.
