Pay to Play Lives!

Thank goodness! We thought we might have to actually ask for an appointment:
  • In the midst of Gov. Pat Quinn’s drive for political reform, his campaign has been using the last weeks of the legislative session to try to set up fundraisers where major interest groups can have some “face time” with the governor and discuss their issues with him, sources said today.

Executives for two major trade associations, who asked that their names not be used to keep from jeopardizing pending legislation, said they had been called within the past week by a Quinn political operative and told that the governor was making time available to meet with them.

One of the trade association executives said today his group received a call Thursday from Quinn’s political operation, seeking a $15,000 fundraiser. The other association executive said his group was called a week ago.

Chicago (and Illinois) truly ain't ready for reform. Feds everywhere, one governor in jail, another on the way and this guy is still strong arming businesses for money. Government for sale. Priceless.

I'd just like to say for those that don't know a few short years ago Curry saved the life of a fellow police officer which not many people can say. I think that is one of the greatest things that one could do on this job. He did so by putting himself in harms way and shot the offender dead. Irregardless of that he is a great guy with great leadership skills. Believe me when I say this you are going to want to work for him. Well done JC you deserve it
and I'm certain that you will do well!!

Signed John Curry.

OT: Sergeants List promotions.
I'm not implying all but, would you rather have some of these newly Promoted persons sitting in the car next to you or responding to your call for assist? Or have them promoted? The reason I would prefer their promotions is a safety issue. Personal experience justifies my decision. They either talk too much about nothing and themselves, are afraid of the street monster or couldn't find their own asshole with 2 hands. Sure, some worked hard and deserve the promotion, but the others also worked hard in kissing ass. But then there are others who are "juiced up" and have proven themselves as a liability. Alot have daddy's that worked with their command staff persons back in the day when they were all Po's. Alot have personal history through neighborhood encounters. I say thank you for promoting these safety hazards. My family thanks you. I know now that I will have one or two less things to worry about every day I come to work. I know I don't have to listen to a self absorbed dick telling me how great he is and I don't have to worry if that partner will turn and high tail it when I need his help. Please promote more.

I guess it's pretty well known at this point, the FEDs in Chicago are just as corrupt as Illinois government is as well.

No one wants to take on the most corrupt city and state government in the country, and you can't get the FEDS in Washington to do it, most of them are Daley corrupted plants anyways, so who else is left to investigate Chicago & Illinois' pervasive and continual corruption if the FEDS in illinois REFUSE to do it?

I wonder if I got my neighbors to help me raise 15K and I went to the Gov and told him I am unemployed and need a job. And I just sat there....Would I get busted for offering a bribe?

I liked Quinn. I thought he was okay. What a piece of hypocritcal garbage.

yes the Feds are corrupt here in Crook County, only indicting and convicting a very small percentage of the corrupt politicians here. Their effect is similar to taking a cupful of sand from a beach.

Where was Quinn while Blagojevich, Levine, Monk, Rezko, Atta, Marjhen, Cellini, DeLeo were raping us? Quinn was silent---he either was an opportunist, stupid, negligent, played the game or didn't give a shit.

What a dirt bag and I am a democrat and liked him....Taking 15K to see the Gov...

Exactly. But everybody jumped for joy& worshipped the ground he walked on because he made Veterans his crusade. Disingenuous @ best. He had his head in the sand or up Blagos Ass when all the Shenanigans were occurring. REMEMBER, QUINN FULLY SUPPORTED& CAMPAIGNED FOR BLAGO DURING HIS RE-ELECTION BID.
