Vanecko Warehouse Problems
Candy Basselen has run a steel fabricating company on the Southwest Side for many years.
Last summer, she moved it a few blocks south, and City Hall told her she had to get a new business license.
But they wouldn't give her one.
None of this made sense to Basselen because she was just a tenant. She didn't understand why the city wasn't leaning on the warehouse owners to fix the landscaping violations.
[...] "If the city knew there were code violations, why was the city operating out of the building,'' Basselen says. "The city was utilizing a building they themselves said wasn't up to code.''
So who owns that building? The mayor's nephew Robert Vanecko and his partners. They bought it with some of the millions of dollars Vanecko manages for five city pension funds.
So did we turn a profit? Does anyone know? Is the fund out of danger? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Just another of the many shakedown scams the city runs on any business stupid enough to locate itself in Chicago. Ask yourself:
Qui Bono?- Who benefits? Who puts the wrought iron fencing in? Who does the landscaping? Who denied the permits. Pray for a runaway Grand Jury to answer these questions!
We need to find out where Vanecko lives and organize a protest on his block DEMANDING he repay every fucking cent he took from our pension.

It doesn't matter the mayor had no idea and never would be involved in anything unethical or illegal. He took the ethics test so he knows it's wrong. Always remember that even though the mayor's friends, business partners and family have done bad things he was not involved.
Just got back from my municipal violation hearing where I had been cited for having a sign in front of my business. Same sign there for past 27 years. $200 fine plus $40 court costs.Watched 3 different calls , all small business men , all with petty cases like mine. City was averaging about $3000 to $4000 in fines a call. When I asked if I could get a license for my sign I was told, no, that there are no licenses for street signs. As some one who has set in juvenile , misdemeanor and criminal courtrooms thousands of times and watched people who have committed crimes walkout with no repercussions, this really pisses me off. Every person I saw in that hearing room today was a hard working person trying to survive in this city today.

talk about shake down at 400 Superiour, if you have a ticket and have photo proof that you are not in the wrong and you have the Pope and Jesus Christ himself as your witness and you want to fight the ticket, you have to give that "COURT" $100 non refundable fee to fight a $100 ticket

This is one of the many reasons the city has low revenue and drives business away. I never shop in chicago anymore and try not to in crook county. After the parking meter scam we will never go downtown again. I got married in will county and bought my wifes engagement ring out there also. We got a lot more for less. I know dozens of others who avoid chicago and crook county too.
If you were connected to the Daley crime family you would have had your case dropped for a small fee.

The mayor of Schaumburg was qouted in the paper yesterday that the towns Red Light Cameras were not doing what they were implemented for, to reduce traffic crashes. He is planning on removing them because he wants to attract people to his town to shop and dine, not fine them for going through the red lights.

White taxpayers harrassed by greedy-boy Daley's Revenue Squad, they swarm our neighborhoods looking for pimpy violations while neighborhoods of color are passed by. Another form of discrimination against Whites in Shitcago.
Today I took my family to the only festival on the lakefront worth going to: Summerfest in Milwaukee.
We enjoyed good music, the company of good friends and weren't bothered by crowds of thugs and criminals preying on victims.
I had to pay to park and pay to get in, but it was worth every penny. I will gladly pay and help boost the local economy up there before I drop a dime in Chicago or consider going to "The Taste" ever again. I even pre-paid and printed my tickets at home for a discounted price of $2 a person.
When we got in the car to head home, I gassed up right near the fest grounds for $2.55 a gallon. Back here, the gas in the city is $2.95.
