And ANOTHER Police Shooting

  • An armed robbery suspect was shot in the chest by Chicago Police after intentionally striking an officer with a car Wednesday evening on the West Side. One other officer was also injured in the incident, police said.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. near Congress Parkway and Damen Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.

Officers spotted a vehicle wanted in a 5 p.m. downtown jewelry store robbery at 440 S. Damen Ave. and were able to curb the car, according to a Chicago Police Dept. release. As two officers exited their squad car, the suspect accelerated his car and drove towards an officer, striking him, the release said.

We hate to use words like "open season," but it's getting increasingly dangerous out there. USA Today had an article a few day ago showing Line of Duty deaths are up 20% over last year. We'd be amazed if Assaults weren't up by even more. Someone have the stats?

Not a robbery, it was a diamond switch by M/2s, simular vehicle was spotted with plates that were close, it was stopped by P.O.s and the driver tried to ram the officers. He missed-they didn't. He was an M/4 with dope on him.

Well if anyone hasn't noticed.... that these are desparate times!

Unemployment..

Many criminals NOT in jail or prison and soon more to be released...

Media has made us out to be disrespectful clowns and the deparation of these opportunists looms....(LAWSUITS)

Control? We are out of control due to the "public corruption" stigma placed upon us.....SO they are in CONTROL...they being the public...(ghetto public particularly)

Our society, whether we like it or not is spiraling out of control and we are out here with our hands tied for fear of losing our jobs and spots with this department!

The kicker is the SHIT has come full circle and we reap what we sow!

Someone asked for this and THEY got it!

Best of luck and stay safe!

one death is too many but according to the article this is the second best 6-months for officer survival in the last 44 years behind last year. And that is a good thing.

"Despite the increases, the 66 officers killed — up from 55 in the first half of 2008 —marked the second-lowest midyear total since 1965, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which tracks officer fatalities."

"I ain't doing a fucking thing," is said here over and over by numerous writers. Just food for though brothers - can it be that the scumbags know that and see that? They no longer fear us (thanks J-Fed) so they're more willing to stand up to us. And because there's a hell of a lot less of us now, it's easier for the scumbag to pick and choose his fight. Let's remember the bad guy's rules and compare tem to ours:
- we go out in 1-man cars; he goes out in groups of 3 or more.
- he doesn't have to jump through hoops to qualify with an alternate/ausiliary handgun, shotgun or rifle; we do.
- he's in C.D.; we're all in uniform, readily recognized as his enemy.
- he doesn't give a shit about POD and redlight cameras because he knows they are worthless; we fear the car camera, mike, and GPS because we know it's implementation was not for our safety and benefit, but just another means to screw with us.
- gang leaders are respected by their subordinates; how many gold stars do we respect?
Keep your vest up to specs, your guns oiled, cleaned and loaded, your mind-set sharp...you can be your own worst enemy or your own best friend when the shit hits.
God Bless us all!

Best thing to do is grab your chest after a shooting and calm yourselves as you ride to the Emergency Room. You will have elevated blood pressure. That will give you time to collect your thoughts and think about what happened.

DO NOT SPURT OUT DETAILS TO THE FOP REP...THEY ARE NOT LAWYERS AND HAVE NO PRIVILEGE!!!! Sid recently found that out in Federal court and I'm sure his AH was puckering.

VOTE FOR PROFESSIONALS!

4 homicides, 1 police shooting between 2200 hrs on 15 Jul and 0430hrs, 16 Jul. Check the blackberries.

Why are we not discussing the elgin toll incident? Lt. in charge, LT. G is on the fast track, an up and coming superstar who blew it big time. The toll plaza cameras, they passed thru 2 of them, documented time, distance and speed. Imagine the photos captured as the 5 vehicles passed thru toll booths. no i-pass in cpd vehicles, don't know about offenders. It was all on the radio, recorded and documented why the pursuit was allowed to continue.

The apple does not fall far from the tree with sgt. mb. who know's his daddy?

U talk about media blackouts. SC, this 1 requires further review.

This was a case illustration for the text and record books on how not to pursue and use deadly force and for the # of blatant reckless intentional rule violations. 1 of them almost died from friendly fire, it was a matter of fate. the 2 supervisors should be hung out to dry. sgt mb will take the fall. lt. g will survive and promoted, he will be exempt due to his rising star, clout and ability to blame others and take credit for others accomplishments. this rising star is much like the "leaders" of today dont know shout (dns) about the job. lack of experience and knowledge but juiced up with connected relatives will make him an exempt.

They knew the target. Always another day. Why not call for ISP support? The tactical takedown was perfect until the discharge.

the entitled merit few will lead the lambs to slaughter.

Remain ready, and go to the range and practice. We have alot more ammo than they do, but it is also how we deliver it. Eliminate the threat. HAPPY HUNTING!

Not since before Tennessee v. Garner have we seen this much violence toward the police.
Prior to that ruling the police could justifiably shoot fleeing felons whether they were armed or not if they were attempting to escape. As a result many believe that criminals were more prone to shoot it out with the police fearing their own lives.(which they should).
Since that ruling things seem to calm down a bit, but then somewhere along the line things changed. The Police became the "bad" guys in some liberals minds' and it began giving the real bad guys power. Then the lawsuits and possible criminal charges started popping up whenever an officer used their weapon, even when justified.
Now we just have dumb ballsy motherfuckers that are willing to take the chance because the laws are weak and in their favor. The rules have changed with the police and sadly many are not willing to challenge dude anymore. Not to mention that Emergency Medical care has greatly improved and the "chips and juice" diet works like an antibiotic for lead.
Just be safe and do what you have to do to come home safely every night. We are the front line troops in this war for civilized society, whether we are appreciated or not. Stay Safe, and Fuck Daley.

Area 2 Gun team officers hear shots being fired respond to the location. One officer is met by two armed offenders who point a gun at him. The officer takes a shot at them but misses, they run in to the next yard where his partner is standing The offender points the gun at PO who shoots him in the right wrist. Three guns recovered one offender got away. The gun the offender pointed at the police was stove piped, so who knows what the out come could have been and one of the guns had a 30 round magazie. Great job officers, be safe
