Bad Numbers

  • The unemployment rate in the Chicago metropolitan area continued to surge in June, reaching 11.3 percent, up from 6.9 percent a year earlier and the highest level since July of 1983, the Illinois Department of Employment Security said Thursday.

The rate is up from 10.7 percent in May and from 9.9 percent in April. It exceeds the state’s 10.3 percent rate and the nation’s 9.5 percent rate.

And not a small portion of it is directly attributable to Quinn's proposed tax hikes, Stroger's tax hikes and Daley's tax hikes, head taxes, and assorted fees and licensing that kills the entrepreneurial spirit.

To stimulate the economy you lower taxes - not raise them. I do not think Democrats know how to lower taxes. This country is in big trouble because of the Dummycrats tax and spend policies.

Obama, Daly, Stroger and Quinn are the problem, not the solution to turn around this terrible economy.

Making matters worse, I believe I heard it reported that when these numbers are compiled, they are based on the number of NEW applications for unemployment benefits but DO NOT track these persons after their benefits run out.

These are scary times. Daley let many companies leave Chicago since they were not glamour places. They were more light to heavy industry and he only wants fancy companies and hotels.
For example: When 1st National Bank of Chicago was bought by Bank One and then by JP Morgan, Chicago was very close to keeping the headquarters here rather than losing it to NYC. Instead, Richie won't play nice with Jamie Dimon and they move the headquarters to NYC. And we lose 1,000's of well paying, professional level jobs=bad for real estate=bad for entire local economy.

By the 2016 Olympics, at the rate these gun-totting savages are shooting and killing each other off, we may need to get those gun shooters "to start all those races" from out of town, since all of ours will be bunk bed style double-buried at the Burr Oak Cemetery.

While I agree he's let a lot of companies leave unnecessarily, how is a major bank and a major financial player, Dimon, 'light to heavy industry'?

Your post lacks, shall we say, continuity, as well as logic.

It's all bullshit, smoke and mirrors. Why should anyone have to work? Big brother's got your back. Hell, if our government doesn't work why should you?

Try reading the post again.

Maybe then you can see your own error in 'logic'.
